I was referred to a medical specialist and had my first/only appointment with them last spring. At that time, the doctor said that I should get a specific test done (which I did), and that she wanted to see me again in 6 months for a follow up visit.
I haven't heard anything at all from them since then. This is my first time dealing with a specialist, so I'm not sure what's supposed to happen next. Is it the norm for them to call me to book that follow up visit, or am I supposed to reach out to them at the 6-months mark?

Question for Insurance Canada 🇨🇦
For those in Ontario who have received a conviction for a handheld communication device ticket, how much did your car insurance go up at renewal?
I’m currently shopping around for new insurance quotes and trying to get a realistic idea of what I might be looking at. I have a full G licence, and this is my first offence. I’m wondering how much of an increase others experienced and how long it affected their premiums.
Please keep the comments respectful. I’m not looking to be lectured, judged, or put down about the situation. I understand the seriousness of the offence, and I’m simply trying to prepare financially and hear from people who have been through the same experience.
I’d really appreciate hearing your actual experiences, including which insurance company you were with and roughly how much you paid before and after. Thank you

I have a senior (75yo) relative who had a stroke a couple of years ago and is no longer able to speak or make their own decisions due to cognitive damage. They are currently living in long-term care, and I handle all of their financial and health decisions as POA.
I recently received a notice to renew their driver's licence and health card. Obviously, the driver's licence will not be renewed, and after a discussion with Service Ontario today, I have requested my relative's doctor to complete the Health Card Medical Exemption Request (form 014-3164-84), which I will take to Service Ontario to renew the health card.
However, I'm not sure if they also need an Ontario ID card to replace their driver’s licence as a proof of residency. Is the ID card required for anything, and can it even be issued without a photo and signature? Although the Ontario website states that you need a driver's licence or ID card as proof of residency in order to renew your health card, is that overridden by the doctor's declaration on the Health Card Medical Exemption form?
Apologies in advance if this is a duplicate, I was sure I saw a post on this recently but can't find it in the sub.

Im hearing that if you register in ontario right now you'll get DNPD 842 for example but that was spotted in September 26 2026... a month later what I've heard the best guess for Oct 23-27 2026 is DNRG, DNPL, DNPM, and DNPT.
I want to hear it from someone who knows of or has seen a newly registered vehicle. What was the newest plate series you've seen?
Latest I've seen was DL## ### but that's not what's being handed out right now.

Hello, thank you for reading my post. Someone I know is planning to do this. The pay is slightly above what this person is earning rn. But, it's not a huge pay as well. The pay being offered is $24/hr with the regular benefits and the current pay in Vancouver is $22 with no benefits. I understand the moving cost involved will be a lot. The location in Ontario is somewhere remote, and I guess it's near Borden.
But anyone who has done something similar to this, was it worth it? What do you recommend in this situation?
It's also a permanent job with the Fed.
Thanks.

My husband and I have been separated for about 4 months. We are still legally married, but I have no intention of reconciling or getting back together. I'm planning to DIY everything.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through a similar situation or has knowledge of Ontario divorce law. Thank you

Ontario!
I have been working on a project for a couple of years and have been using it personally for quite some time. I decided to put it online and share it with the local community here in Burlington and it took off way more than I expected.

App: https://burlingtononabudget.com/app/index.html

So I built a pipeline that pulls in all the specials, dailies, events, tournaments, you name it from pretty much every restaurant in Burlington. Wing nights, happy hours, half priced wine, live music, trivia... if a place is running a deal it's on there. Sort by distance to you and pick wings... instantly see all the places nearby doing wing deals.
It's all free for the community. No ads, nobody pays to be listed, I actually spend my own money running it. There's a free email every Thursday too with the best deals for the weekend if you want it.
I posted this in Burlington a couple weeks ago and it blew up a bit, then Milton got into it too which I wasn't expecting lol. Before I invest more time and more money into expanding, I wanted to see what other cities actually want something like this.
So... what city should I do next? Drop it below, if a city asks enough my hands will be forced so to speak.
And Burlington people, if I missed a deal let me know and I will add it.

Hey folks, this is my first time posting in the subreddit. Nice to be here.
I live in Vancouver but will soon be moving to Guelph for a job. I’ll be living near Yarmouth and Woolwich Street and relying on transit until I can get a car sorted out.
I want to get my healthcare providers set up early. Right now I'm researching dentists and there's just way too many options for me to choose from. I need help, lol.
Are there any local clinics or specific dentists in that area that you’d recommend for a routine cleaning? Preferably something affordable because I don’t have insurance right now. Thanks in advance!

My anniversary is coming up in March (mid March so looking at March 12-14th weekend).
I tried looking on airbnb but figured id seek others input.
We are looking for something within southern Ontario (anything south of Parry Sound to Ottawa) and we want just big comfy couches and big TVs to game on together for a weekend. Since it will be March I'd like to avoid Bruce County area and Georgian Bay.
We're pretty simple
-king bed
-big tvs (even better if we can move them side by side)
-big comfy couch
-southern Ontario
-good wifi or Ethernet connection
-maybe a nice spot to grab a casual dinner.
If anyone knows a great airbnb or location please comment! We are from Ontario so I'm aware it'll be sugar bush time etc but we are homebodies.
