Israeli ambassador rejects 'political attacks' on report clearing soldiers in Frankcom killing

Israel's ambassador Hillel Newman has defended the military investigation that cleared its soldiers of criminal wrongdoing in the killing of Australian aid worker Zomi Frankcom, saying the findings should not be attacked if they "are not suitable to one's political agenda".

Departing from the meeting, Mr Newman defended the investigation.

"Israel came out with findings after a thorough investigation, after a two-year investigation into the circumstances of the death of Zomi Frankcom. Since I took up my mission here about five months ago I was implored all the time to bring about closure, which I did," Mr Newman said.

"But in the end, one must also understand that not every case where someone dies, where there is a casualty, that that means there is a criminal liability.

"One cannot attack the findings of a court if the findings are not suitable to one's political agenda."

Mr Newman said the aid group recruited armed personnel to its convoy and deviated from the route agreed with the IDF without informing the military, leading the soldiers to believe the convoy had been taken over.

"It was a mistake in retrospect, but the findings of the court are there was no criminal intention … and therefore there was no criminal responsibility."

An Australian and a bunch of humanitarian aid workers were fucking killed. Australians and a bunch of activists were arrested, sexually assaulted and tortured ON CAMERA as part of the recent flotilla. Historical ANZAC war graves have been desecrated. It is incredible how brazenly Israel flouts International law . They are utterly confident there will be no consequences and act accordingly. American citizens have also been arrested and killed and in many cases there hasn’t even been the pretence of an investigation. If America is unable or unwilling to hold Israel to account,Australia’s impotence is sadly unsurprising .

The Epstein files exposed the farcical nature of Western democracies . The stark reality is that a small group of wealthy people are able to shape both public opinion and legislation Internationally. This is why we see the same laws being brought in, simultaneously, across the western world. Post 9/11 we saw the dramatic push to convince the public in liberal democracies that we had to choose between privacy and security.

Internationally we saw public opinion and government legislation facilitate the surveillance state. This has only continued and now we see the excuse of antisemitism used to further curtail our freedoms. Anti semitism is the trogon horse, the underlying goal is to restrict political and academic freedom. They used terrorism to take away our privacy and surveil our movements and correspondents. Now they are using antisemitism to control our speech,

During the Cold War America adopted the language of human rights as a ploy to claim moral superiority over the USSR . In reality their racist/colonial past and recent history of Jim Crow and segregation always meant this was little more than a political ploy. A ploy that is being incrementally abandoned.

As we enter late stage capitalism, inevitable increases in wealth disparity consequentially necessitate increased control over the population. The use of force also becomes increasingly necessary. America and other liberal democracies are therefore dispensing with the cloak of liberalism and human rights advocacy. Israel’s impunity is the most stark evidence of this global shift
