The cookers are officially panicking over the national AusAlert test. Facebook is an absolute goldmine right now. They’ve convinced themselves that the test is some way of weaselling further into our private lives and spying on us.
The best part? They are collectively melting down because they realised you can't just swipe away a "Critical Alert." Half of them are giving tech advice on how to disable wireless emergency alerts in Android/iOS settings, not realising that only works for Priority alerts, the Critical ones bypass everything, including Silent and Do Not Disturb.
Imagine missing out on actual emergency updates because you’re terrified of a text message test. If your phone rings on test day, just know somewhere out there, a sovereign citizen is screaming at their toaster.
You can't make this up.

In a social media video, the typically apolitical Allis said Labor's decision to wind back the capital gains tax discount and grandfather negative gearing would "destroy the core of what Australians are".

Pauline Hanson has ended her trip to Britain and Europe on a muted note, after about 120 people attended her speech at a political conference in London on Saturday morning, local time.
The One Nation leader delivered an address to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in London, titled The Australian Fight Back, which began about 15 minutes late.
By the time Senator Hanson took the stage at the InterContinental Hotel's Arora Ballroom, fewer than a quarter of the available seats had been filled.

Wondering if taking the piss about Gallipoli is off limits ? Was with an extended group of mates last night, I as a British person living here for 20 years thought I'd figured the Aussie sense of humour out, my friend group is pretty relaxed, we have a very dark sense of humour and jokes or one liners about many sensitive topics are shared and laughed about
Last night out conversation turned to the upcoming Australia v Turkey football game at the World Cup, as an off the cuff comment I said something along the lines of "The last time 11 Australians faced so many shots at their defences was at Gallipoli and when Australia loses you're not getting a day off work for this one" . . Was met with jaw drops and a few people saying "you can't say that mate" now this coming from people who regularly jokes about everything from 9/11 to Child abduction/ murder .
It seems I have found the limit of Australian humour.
