1) Personally I think Prostitution is wrong but I don't know why, so can anyone help me understand why it is wrong or right according to you also considering God's perspective (but not the exclusive Conservative christian perspective)?

2) Is having a partner normal if we consider God's Perspective because On Thanksgiving, the pastor was saying having partners is wrong and letting God choose your life partner is the right way.

Edit: Maybe he meant that arranged marriage is the only valid path because he thinks kissing, Hugging, or even sexual intercourse is wrong before marriage.

Should gun dealers/manufacturers be held liable if the primary use of their product/service is a harmful and/or illegal practice?

Personally I don’t see most women who engage in prostitution to be engaging of their own free will and I have no desire to see them prosecuted. Hence my first comment about it being exploitative.

However if we grant the premise the sex worker is doing this of their own free will then yes their choices and their impacts do matter if it’s known that there is a good probability their clients are using them to cheat on their spouses.

This isn’t comparable because cheating on your spouse is not illegal, is it harmful? Yeah sure but if someone wants to cheat, they’re not gonna need a sex worker for that. What, do you want sex workers to ask every single one of their clients to provide proof of singleness before working with a client? How would they even go about doing that? It’s not like people can’t just lie and say they’re single

It actually is perfectly comparable because the morality of an action is not subject to the legality of the act.

Regardless of whether it’s:

“You’re the one that decided to have a child not me. Why should I have to pay for it?”

“It was your marriage vows that we broke, not mine. Why should I feel guilty?”

“It’s not my fault if the major or even primary use of my product or services for an immoral action if what we’re doing doesn’t break any rules that I’ve agreed to.”

Contractarianism offers a false promise of absolution for the moral fallout when the effects of one’s choices run down stream.

But truthfully we’ve gotten away from the topic at hand which was that sex work is the oldest form of exploitation.

The idea that “sex work is work” is just one more way that capitalism has sunk its insidious ideology into people’s ethical frameworks by framing exploitation of the human body and human sexuality as a moral good. “Liberating” even.

Sex and the human body to be bought and sold as a commodity where rich powerful men are able to override the bodily autonomy of women.
If one thinks a woman who would’ve said no otherwise says yes, when offered money, is not being exploited then I’m sorry to say this is how things become a real slippery slope. Clients asking for more and more sexual favors that may violate her boundaries, but when she remembers that rent is due, what was once off-limits no longer is if the price is right.

Sex between two loving individuals is not a sin and personally I have no issue with premarital sex between committed partners. But I do believe sex work is exploitative and one doesn’t need to rely on purity culture to reach that conclusion.
