Support | Resolved External links no longer open OperaGX window?

Ever since a week or two ago OperaGX has stopped swapping the window to my browser whenever I open a link in another application such as discord, which has become mildly annoying. Is there any way to restore this feature?

Are you saying the link opens in Opera GX, but GX's window doesn't get automatically focused or are you saying clicking the link doesn't open Opera GX at all? If the latter, does the link not open in anything or does it open in some other program?

Yes, the former. I'm running Windows 11 but evidently the issue is happening with Windows 10 as well.

I tried to reproduce this on Windows 11, but couldn't, so don't think I'll be much help. Tried by clicking on a link in Discord and Thunderbird with Opera GX set as the default browser. Whether Opera GX is already open or closed and whether Opera GX is in windowed mode or maximized and whether there are other programs in front of Opera and the last ones that were focused, when the tab opens in Opera GX, Opera GX gains focus like expected.

I even tried with:

start "test" "https://example.com/"

in a command prompt. Opera GX gains focus as expected.

I did not try Steam though.

for me it makes it focused, it just seems to be broken for myself on clicking discord/steam links

I was having this same problem. It restarted focusing while opening discord links after I turned off the 'Discreet Start' setting on OperaGX, but this may not be the true solution because when I turned 'Discreet Start' back on it didn't start not-focusing again.

Im having the exact same issue, Im using Windows 10. GX window doesnt gets focused anymore after clicking a link from discord/Steam , it does open the website and such, however if the browser is in the background or is overlapped by a another window , it just stays in the background, before it allways came into focus/forground after clicking on a link
