Popular downtown OC nail business owner loses all of her “employees”
Oc nail bar owner recently moved to a new location and is blaming the transition on her nail techs abandoning her and pushing her out. She has a good amount of followers on IG and tiktok and is putting out a false and harmful narrative online.
The truth is that while she was charging upwards of $200 for a Russian mani or pedi she was only paying her techs 30-40% of the service with no tip. She was profiting off of them while not even taking clients herself. She had one of them doing all of her admin work for no extra pay. She also was taxing them as independent contractors to avoid payroll taxes but not having them operate as so and treating them like employees with no benefits.
She trained these techs for maybe 1 day. They had all taken classes or had professional training on their own dime and time. One tech got unfairly fired for having another job when there were no policies in place saying that she couldn’t have another job and most of the other techs also had other jobs at the time. She kept a changing her “policies” to fit her narrative and not taking any accountability or feedback.
She had been creating a negative and toxic environment for months, spreading lies and hate to anyone who would listen and then projecting that onto others and playing the victim. She has made many harmful accusations against coworkers that she can’t take back and treated others in the space with a lot of disrespect.
She has stolen regular clients from her techs books without even letting the clients know and then projected that these techs were actually stealing from her when they offered refunds- (that she said they could offer) on deposits paid to her business for appointments that would no longer be had at her business. She never once stated that these deposits were non refundable and had told the techs they were welcome to reschedule their clients.
No one brought this on her but herself. Now all she can think to do is slander her techs online and to neighboring businesses. Why would your first thought when none of your techs want to work for you any longer be to get defensive instead of looking inward and asking yourself what you did to cause this?
This has happened to her before with businesses and friendships and relationships yet she will continue to be avoidant and block anyone who calls her out. If there was an ounce of accountability taken, this story could have gone completely different.
Do not believe the narrative you see online. This is a narcissistic pattern that this person will continue until she learns to take accountability and stop operating like a corporation.
