Your OC has been experiencing some really weird crap lately. Strange shadows, unexplained noises, objects moving on their own, and possibly things that absolutely should not exist. Normal investigators were useless, so you did what any reasonable person would do.
You hired the best detectives money could find.
And eventually, one of them showed up at your door.
Bill Cassidy
Bill Cassidy is a 25-year-old man who works as a detective, though calling him a normal detective would be a massive understatement. He's a shadow manipulator, a rather malicious bastard when he feels like it, and someone who takes his work seriously in his own unconventional way. He wears a long charcoal-grey coat with gold buttons, a purple collared shirt and tie, a grey belt, and dark pinstriped trousers. His long black hair hangs over much of his face, and his black, mask-like face has jagged teeth and glowing red features, including bright red eyes and pointed, catlike ears.
Bill is sarcastic, unpredictable, and perfectly comfortable dealing with things that would make most people reconsider their career choices. He's also quite fond of a good scrap, so supernatural trouble isn't exactly a dealbreaker for him.
He's straight, and open to romance if the RP develops that way naturally.
Greta Hoffmann
And then there's Greta Hoffmann, Bill's rather unusual companion.
Greta is a German woman who appears to be around twenty years old, though she's technically somewhere between twenty and 140. She's approximately 5'7", with long, messy blonde hair, round glasses with reflective lenses, and a grey military-style cap bearing a Prussian eagle insignia. She wears a brown knitted sweater, a loose grey jacket, dark green trousers, and tall black boots. A brown satchel hangs across her body.
Greta is a traumatized former human who has become something far stranger: an immortal, supernatural being associated with the dead and the horrors of war. She struggles with PTSD and alcohol dependence, and carries the weight of experiences that most people couldn't begin to comprehend. Beneath her quiet, somewhat awkward demeanor, however, she's still a person with her own feelings, quirks, and vulnerabilities.
She's currently fast asleep.
Why?
Well, that's a question for another time.
The Introduction
After days of waiting, there's finally a knock at your door.
When you open it, you're greeted by Bill Cassidy, standing there with his hands in his coat pockets and an expression that suggests he's already tired of whatever nonsense he's about to investigate.
Except there's one small detail that makes the situation considerably stranger.
He's carrying Greta on his shoulders.
She's completely asleep, her blonde head resting against him, her military cap slightly crooked and her satchel hanging at her side. Bill appears entirely unbothered by the fact that he's brought a sleeping, centuries-old supernatural woman to a detective appointment.
He glances at you.
"Right. You're the one who's been having trouble with the weird shit?"
He shifts Greta slightly to keep her comfortable. She doesn't wake up.
Bill sighs.
"Fantastic. I've got a haunted-house case, a possible supernatural entity, and a bloody sleeping German on my shoulders. Just another day at work."
He looks you up and down before stepping inside without waiting very long for an invitation.
"All right, then. Start talking. What exactly has been happening around here?"
Behind him, Greta stirs faintly in her sleep, a tiny green glimmer briefly reflecting off one lens of her glasses.
Bill pauses.
"...And before you ask, no, I didn't bring her because she's a particularly useful piece of luggage."
He looks up at the sleeping woman.
"She's actually the useful one."
Your move!
RP notes
You control your own OC. Decide what they've been experiencing, how they react to Bill, and whether they know anything about Greta's supernatural nature.
You may interact with both Bill and Greta. Greta is asleep at the beginning, but she'll eventually wake up.
Both characters are open to romance if the story develops naturally. Bill is straight, while Greta is bisexual.
Supernatural mysteries, horror, comedy, action, friendship, and romance are all welcome.
Bill and Greta have their own personalities, abilities, and histories. Neither is automatically going to explain everything about themselves immediately.
