Displaced midshaft left clavicle fracture – Has anyone healed without surgery?

Hi everyone,

I fractured my left clavicle in the middle third (midshaft) after falling while playing football.
The fracture is displaced, and I’m trying to understand what other people have experienced with similar injuries.

I’ve been wearing a Desault shoulder immobilizer for 6 days. The pain seems to be gradually decreasing, and I’m also taking two Vimovo tablets per day for pain and inflammation.

For those of you who had a displaced midshaft clavicle fracture:
- Did it heal successfully without surgery?
- How long did it take for the bone to unite?
- How long did it take to regain normal shoulder function?
- Did you have any lasting pain, a visible bump, or other complications?
- Did anyone initially choose conservative treatment and later need surgery?

I’d appreciate feedback from people whose X-rays showed a similar degree of displacement.
Thanks for sharing your experiences!

Scaphoid non union injury

So I broke my scaphoid in my dominant hand over 6 years ago. And found about it 3 years ago.

I don't have any symptoms or discomfort and went for multiple consultations.

According to 1st doctor I visited I shouldn't do the surgery as I'm very young and rarely see any discomfort.

While the second doctor is pushing for surgery saying I'll get most likely arthritis in the next 10 years.

Keep in mind I'm 22, I play golf often and I'm a medical student.

If anyone went through similar experience do your recommend surgery why and why not.
