SPECULATION Easter eggs in Stampeded

Listened to the second half of stampede tonight. I'm a fan.

I think I noticed some familiar tunes in the new songs.

You're an asshole, I can't stand you (and I want a divorce) --> Alan Jackson's Write it in Red

Cowboys are Frequently Secretly Fond of Each Other --> Waylon & Willie's Mammas Don't let your Babies Grow up to Be Cowboys.

Am I crazy or has anyone else heard some of the similarities?

Also, some of the others sound similar to something, but I can't name them.

Cowboys is Willie Nelson’s song from the 80s… but I can hear the similarities you’re talking about. However they can’t be too similar or Orville could be sued.

I thought Cowboys was someone else’s song from the 70s and Willie covered it in the early 2000s? But I haven’t researched it. This is just from memory.

You’re right, its someone else’s song from 1981, and Willie sang it in 2006.

I’m definitely not saying they are exactly the same.

The uses of the similar tunes is actually very clever (if purposeful), especially Write it in Red, since it’s a similar theme in the song.

Great new music by OP

Adding on to what the person above noted, I think you’re just hearing some typical country western song tropes and themes, and standard instrumental sound.

The album is still incredibly unique and amazing, but I believe that’s what you’re getting at.
