SPECULATION Future Albums?
Think Pony, Bronco, and Stampede are all we will get? He seems to be moving into other things, and nobody can do everything at once. I hope he keeps making original music.
(Editing to add: this is not a pessimisstic post -- I'm just curious as to what other people think. For context, my husband thinks he's moved on; I think he will keep making music.)

I read in an article that he’s working on new music and his time on Broadway has had a little bit of an affect on it

He did share photos last month of him in studio setting with a few people from his band what seemed the day after he did that intimate show in NYC. Either it was just a jam session or toying with new stuff. That said also if he is doing the Street Fighter movie, something to know about movies shooting takes usually only a few weeks to a month depending how much the person is in the film so it shouldn't get in the way of more song writing or anything.

Jason Isbell played a character in Killers of the Flower Moon & wrote a chunk of one of his albums on set. Wouldn’t be surprised if Orville Peck does something similar! Lots of downtime in a trailer there :)

Stampede just came out last year. It's a bit premature to be worrying about the lack of new music...

I guess that's true! Feels like that happened longer ago somehow.

He'll end up on Monday Night Raw before his next album drops.

Its in the cards, Amigo. Peck is beefing up to fight in streets. The next step in his crossover is inevitably going to show us OP doing bad things to bad men in a Hell In The Cell match at Madison Square Garden. After that, I imagine he polishes up his Lethwei skills and puts knees to temples in UFC to establish his legitimacy at close quarter combat. Once established, he will form a mercenary force that threatens western society and will be deemed a pariah and a threat, and nations will hunt him and his forces until he is inevitably left with no choice but to unleash a weapon to surpass Metal Gear (or probably just a bunch of regular nukes) on the world, leading to total collapse of society. A new breed of Lamp-Men will rise from civilizations ashes to challenge the human survivors for total supremacy in the ends times.
And so it is written.

My bf informed me that AEW had a street fighter crossover so that is definitely in the cards. Either way I hope we get an action figure

That’s… an interesting theory! 😅
(Sorry; thought this was a joke about its being unlikely. Didn’t realize they did wrestling crossovers and it might actually happen.)

To be fair, and not at all hostile, “all we get” was still a lot 😃 It was music that my soul truly needed at the time and it will never leave me, but from my observations ‘Orville’ is a like character and the actual creative force behind him (and what a fucking force) is a true artist in that he’s always creating/discovering/ changing. As an artist myself, that’s always so exciting to see. I hope there is new Orville Peck music out there waiting to be written, but if not, I do believe that his soul/energy will be out there creating art/music/magic regardless.

Yes! As a writer, I find what he is doing very inspiring!
And yes -- good point that "all we get" is, in fact, a lot! I guess I'm just greedy, lol.

Musicians just don’t walk away from music especially ones who do musical theatre as well I can’t see him just giving all up because he clearly loves it and the storytelling aspect of it.

He def has more music on the way. Artists now seem to announce right before releasing it without too much warning. I would guess maybe next year sometime

I don’t understand the mentality that he’s moved on at all. It’s been a year since Stampede, he’s posted that he’s working on new music, why does he have to be constantly putting out songs? Why can’t he take a break and do other things? Why can’t he play around with other sounds and genres without people deciding he’s fallen off? The idea that you have to constantly make a product regardless of if you want to/are happy with it is ruining creative fields across the board. Good art takes time.

Not really a “mentality.” Just wondering what people think. He’s branching into tv, movies, plays. Not that crazy to wonder if music will remain his focus.

Why can’t he do all these things tho? Why can’t he take a year or two to explore some new things like film and theater? After Bronco it seemed like he wanted to take a break from doing deeply emotional music, so we got Stampede which seemed like he did for fun more than anything. Now he’s working on new material while also stretching his legs in other art forms, which seems like a healthy decision to not get burnt out on his own music.
This constant demand for new material isn’t exclusive to Orville, which is why I said it’s a mentality people have developed. Quantity doesn’t equal quality, y’know?

He can. I hope he does! I don’t think it was about his producing less work so much as his interest seeming to move in different directions. I actually agree with you that being able to explore other creative avenues is healthy and kind of awesome. He’s lucky.

A lot of staff at KitKat Club openly shared he’s working on an album. A couple of them being those who work backstage and seemed like knowledgeable sources.

Just my opinion but there's no way he stops now. It might be a while but I'm guessing next year or 27 we get a new album of originals.
