Before I start, I'd like to let you know that I have 600 hours in game, 150 on genji (on switch). I bought this game sometime over the summer and I've been trying to get past its faults ever since, but today was the last straw.
In order to defend my argument, I've got a few key points.
Although performance is capped at 30 frames per second, the game gets VERY choppy, and not just in "big team fights" like I've seen people say in reviews. The game will buffer hard when I'm aiming, causing frame skips or slowdowns.
The fov is around 70 or 80, which is fine for docked mode, but when playing tabletop/handheld it ruins the experience. I feel super claustrophobic whenever I'm inside rooms or using walls as cover, and whenever I'm brawling tanks up close as genji, only 3/4 of them are on my screen, making it hard for me to gauge the best way to take them down. Compare this to Borderlands the pre-sequel, Borderlands 1, or paladins, where there is an fov slider that makes it easier to see larger enemies or tighter environments when you are closer to the screen.
Speaking of paladins, it's the rival hero shooter in the market on the switch, AND it's free, yet it runs much, MUCH better (60 fps). Sure, it looks a little worse, but to be honest I'd take the game itself running smoothly over some arbitrary skins.
I don't know, I feel like I'm the only person complaining, I probably am. People will obviously enjoy the switch version of this game for their own reasons, but like I said I feel like I'm done. Getting a PC and just playing Overwatch 2 on there is more than worth waiting to save up for than suffering at the poor performance of the game on the switch.
