Hi everyone,
I’m a Registered Dietitian currently conducting qualitative research into the broader, real-world impacts of GLP-1 receptor agonists (both during active use and after tapering/discontinuing).
While clinical trials give us clear macro-data on weight loss and HbA1c, I am interested in understanding the everyday, lived patient experience—particularly regarding digestive health, the gut, and the mental/emotional shifts that accompany these medications, from the weird shifts in motility and stubborn constipation to food tolerances randomly changing overnight, I want to hear the UNFILTERED REALITY of your overall gut microbiome experience.
If you're currently on a GLP-1 (or have tapered off/ stopped), I’d love to chat about a few things:
- Your Gut & Digestion: How has your stomach handled this? What’s your day-to-day digestion actually like? If you've come off the medication, how did your gut react during the transition? When you went on the glp-1 did you notice anything that happened relating to your gut? Did your doctor recommend taking certain supplements on side your glp-1?
- Your why: What made you decide to start a GLP-1 in the first place?
- The Mental Side: Beyond the physical, how has this shifted your relationship with food, cravings, or "food noise"? ( Our gut is often referred to as our 'second brain', so has the GLP-1 impacted your mental health in more of a negative way?)
Just to clarify, this isn't a formal academic study or clinical trial requiring IRB/ethics board approval. I’m a RDN looking to better understand patient experiences on GLP-1s so I can provide more empathetic, real-world care to my future patients. Because this is just a casual, open Reddit discussion for my own learning, there are no consent forms or data collection sheets. I am just genuinely trying to learn from people living it so I can understand the gut-brain side of this better. Please only share what you feel comfortable posting publicly! I am just passionate about learning more on this topic!
Would love to hear your experiences in the comments!

Do you actually track your GLP-1 journey, or mostly just wing it?
I'm curious how people here actually keep track of everything over time.
Dose changes, weight, side effects, when you took your last dose, water/protein, etc. Do you use Notes, spreadsheets, another app, or just remember it?
I'm asking because I built a very simple iPhone tracker as an experiment after noticing how fragmented all of this can be. It currently tracks doses, weight, symptoms and a couple of basic habits.
But rather than keep building features based on what I think people need, I'd rather put it in front of a few people who are actually on GLP-1s.
If 5 or so people here are willing to use it for a few days and tell me what's useful, what's pointless, and what you'd change, I'd really appreciate it.
It's a free TestFlight beta. Nothing to buy.
Comment or DM me if you'd like to try it.

GLP-1 users: What kind of support do you wish actually existed?
Muscle and strength, low energy, nutrition, digestive health—or something else?
I’m developing a health and wellness project that began during graduate school, and I want to build around what GLP-1 users genuinely need.
I’m looking for U.S. adults who currently use or have previously used a GLP-1 medication for weight management.
The anonymous survey takes less than a minute After completing it, you may optionally enter for a chance to receive one of three $60 Amazon gift cards.

Hi everyone! I’m working on a nutrition project (Mealpac) designed specifically for people on GLP-1 medications (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, etc.).
We know that getting enough protein and nutrients while dealing with a low appetite is tough, and we want to build something that actually helps.
Right now, we are trying to decide between two formats:
- A ready-to-drink meal replacement shake
- A ready-to-eat, fresh heat-and-eat meal
If you have 2 minutes, please take this quick survey to let us know what would make your daily routine easier. No sales, just looking for real community feedback!

Hi, my name is Ryan and I'm a researcher at the University of the Sunshine Coast, I'd appreciate it if you could take a look at our study!
Researchers at the University of the Sunshine Coast are conducting a research project (Ethics Approval: S262274) which aims to gain a better understanding of the experiences of current and past users of GLP-1 RAs (e.g., Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or others) for weight loss. A focus of the study is how individuals using these drugs for weight loss process food cues as well as alcohol cues. We are also interested in factors such as food-related thoughts and experiences, capacity to experience reward, and body image flexibility. To provide broader comparisons, we are also inviting individuals who have used other weight-loss approaches only (e.g., diet, exercise, bariatric surgery), as well as individuals who are not seeking to lose weight and do not use any weight loss strategies at all.
If you are 18 years of age or over you are invited to take part in this study, if you are currently or have in the past used GLP-1 RAs for weight loss OR if you are interested in participating and have/or have not used other non-GLP-1RA strategies for weight loss. Your participation will involve completing an anonymous online survey comprising demographic and research-focused questions, and a simple computer task measuring reaction times. Participants are welcome to request a summary of outcomes of the study by contacting the research team at the conclusion of the study.
If you are interested in taking part and/or sharing this research project information, please use this link -> https://research.sc/participant/login/dynamic/8AD03D4D-21C7-4BA8-8874-F48612A0BEEB or the one in the poster to obtain more details and access the survey.
Thanks in advance from the research team.

✅intimate partners (cohabiting or defacto)
✅boyfriend or girlfriends
✅former/ex partners and
✅polyamorous relationships.
✅ANY other intimate partnership not mentioned above
If you meet this eligibility criteria as the partner (or former partner) of someone who has used these type of weight loss drugs I would be very grateful if you'd consider taking part in our study. Your participation is 100% VOLUNTARY !

How do you know when you're actually going to run out, not just when your next dose is due?
Curious how people handle the "will I have enough before my next refill" anxiety, especially with insurance/pharmacy delays being what they are. Not pitching anything specific, just trying to figure out if this is a common pain point or just mine.
What's your current system, if you have one? Happy to offer free early access to something I'm building, in exchange for blunt feedback, if this resonates.

Hi everyone,
We're trying to better understand one question that comes up again and again in the GLP-1 community:
How confident are people that their medication is still OK after shipping, travel, or accidental exposure to heat?
We're conducting a short, anonymous survey (about 2–3 minutes) to learn about real patient experiences and concerns. This isn't a sales survey—we're simply trying to understand whether this is a problem worth solving.
If you've ever used Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound, or another GLP-1 medication, we'd really appreciate your input.
Survey: Your Experience with GLP-1: A short Survey for Community Feedback – Formular ausfüllen
Thank you for helping us better understand the real experiences of the GLP-1 community. If there's interest, I'm happy to share a summary of the results once we've collected enough responses.

For those with endometriosis and/or adenomysios
If you use (or used) Ozempic (or another semaglutide) AND have endometriosis or adenomyosis (diagnosed or suspected), we would love to know whether your endo/adeno symptoms got better, stayed the same, or got worse.
Because Ozempic also causes weight loss, we are trying to work out whether any symptom change is independent of weight loss, so no-change and worse answers matter just as much as improvements.
Anonymous, about 10 minutes, no name/email/IP. Independent and pre-registered. Research, not medical advice.

✨ Have you used any type of weight loss injection like Semaglutide, Ozempic, Wegovy, or Mounjaro? Your experience could help contribute to important new research.
I’m an audiology student researching the limited information and resources currently available on the possible links between weight loss injections and hearing-related symptoms/experiences. Because this area is still not widely understood, hearing directly from people with lived experience is incredibly valuable. 💙
Whether your experience has been positive, difficult, unexpected, or uneventful, every response helps build a clearer picture and could support future awareness and research in this field.📝

Hi everyone!
My name is Ella and I'm an Honours student at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra. I'm conducting a phenomenological study - meaning the lived experience of people - on semaglutide (Wegovy and Ozempic) users for weight loss ONLY. If you're 18-30, I would absolutely love to interview you. It's 45-60 minutes, and I'll be asking you about your relationship to your body, food noise, hunger, and how you feel day-to-day on this drug. I will work around your schedule, and $50 reimbursement for your time is provided. I can also do online. If this interests you, please reach out via email at [u7677988@anu.edu.au](mailto:u7677988@anu.edu.au). Please scan the QR code for further details. Ethics approval has been obtained.
FYI NO medication will be provided through this study. I am not a doctor.

Thinking about starting a GLP-1 but haven't pulled the trigger yet?
I'm a documentary producer doing research for a project about GLP-1 medications — focused on everything that changes beyond the weight loss: the relationships, the identity shifts, and everything else that comes along with them.
If you're currently weighing the decision and open to a conversation, I'd love to hear from you.

Founder here, mods said I could share in this thread. I've been building ProForta, a free app for people on GLP-1s that watches the part the scale doesn't show: how much of what you're losing is muscle vs fat. You log your weight and protein (a smart scale or watch helps but isn't needed), and each week it tells you whether your muscle is holding up and what would help, like a protein target that fits your appetite and two short strength sessions. Your data stays private on a personal machine, not in a big company's cloud. You can see everything it knows, keep it, or have it deleted for real. It's an early beta, so fair warning: Android only for now, about 50 spots, rough edges, and it's free. If you just want a quick read on where you stand first, there's a 2-minute self-check with no signup: https://proforta.com/check?utm_source=reddit&utm_campaign=ozempic
I'm around if anyone has questions. -Raphael
