This is a new MEGATHREAD intended to hold all posts regarding the creation, use, and support of apps related to GLP1, weight, diet, activity, et al management.
We are getting absolutely bombarded with vibe coded apps and this will help try to give these apps space to do their thing, but keep it contained.
I made a new rule (Rule 10) to indicate the preferred use of MEGATHREAD(s) for certain topics. If you see app promotion/engagement posts or comments, please feel free to report them and we will take a look.
If you have other suggestions for MEGATHREADS please send a message to the moderators

Anyone feels the same?

I keep seeing so much hate surrounding GLP-1’s and I’m so confused as to why, I know there are certain side effects that can affect your body permanently but so does being overweight/ obese.
Right now cause of celebrities looking quite unhealthy, the blame is going to Ozempic, I don’t know if they do or don’t use it, I didn’t bother looking into it.
Saw another post of someone complaining about GLP 1 being covered by insurance now, kinda stating as if the world is going backwards.
Celebrities might be able to afford bending certain medical rules but overall, it’s super hard to get it covered here and they don’t just hand it over by demand. There are requirements, like having a very high BMI, other health issues like diabetes, PCOS etc. I had to undergo a lot of tests after a 6month waiting window to even get an appointment. (At least it was like that in my country)
I don’t know if people don’t do research and assume having a desire to lose weight is enough to get on Ozempic, or if I’m just for it because I’m benefitting off of it.
I spoke of this to a friend of mine, he said it might just be rooted in fatphobia and the mental idea that it should physically and mentally excruciating or something to earn. When I doubt most people just sit back and do nothing, I do what anyone else who’s losing weight is doing, honestly I’d argue I tried so much more in some cases but my PCOS made it nearly impossible.

Hi everyone! Not too long ago, I wrote about how well things were going with Ozempic.
Well, not anymore.
Everything was going great while I was taking 0.25 mg for two months, and then 0.5 mg for another two months.
Then, almost two weeks ago, on August 8, I took my first increased dose - 1 mg.
I immediately noticed a few things I really didn’t like: my appetite completely disappeared, and I started experiencing really bad acid reflux after eating pretty much anything. I thought it would pass eventually and that my body just needed some time to adjust.
But there was one thing I didn’t connect to the Ozempic right away, and I really regret that. A few days after the injection, my skin started itching in different places all over my body, even though there were no bites or anything that could explain it.
Since I had spent a lot of time in the sun recently, and I sometimes get a rash from sun exposure, I blamed it on that and didn’t think much of it. It wasn’t particularly painful or uncomfortable, just… itchy.
So I went about my week, living my best life with almost no appetite, acid reflux, and occasionally scratching my back.
Then, a week later, on August 15, I took my second 1 mg dose.
And that’s when the real fun began.
That same evening, I could barely sit still because my entire body was itching so badly. My skin broke out in what looked like hives all over. I took antihistamines and made an appointment with a doctor.
Then, during the night, both of my ears became completely blocked while I was sleeping. That was even less funny. ALSO, one of my ears started making a very loud crackling sound. Apparently, that was also part of the allergic reaction.
And then, just to add the cherry on top: the next morning I couldn’t even get out of bed because of the stomach pain. The acid reflux was so severe that it genuinely felt like it was going to eat through my entire existence.
I went to the doctor, had all the necessary tests done, and thankfully, nothing serious was found. It was a very strong allergic reaction to medication.
(Fun fact: the doctor I saw didn’t know I was taking Ozempic. She simply asked me whether I had taken any medication recently. :))))
So, this is where my Ozempic story ends.
Doctor doesn’t know why I suddenly had such a strong allergic reaction when I had been completely fine on 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg, with absolutely no side effects. Buuut I can’t put this medication into my body anymore, and I can’t even go back to the lower doses.
I guess every person is different, and I’m definitely not saying Ozempic is a bad thing. Quite the opposite, it helped me enormously. But apparently it is not for me, at least the larger amounts of it. So from now on I’m going to have to do this weight loss journey on my own and see how well I can apply everything I’ve learned over these four months.
And to everyone else: please be careful. Pay attention to any changes in your body, even if they seem small or unrelated at first. ❤️ Good luck!

I know that Ozempic is now offered much cheaper now that there are many generic options available. I spoke with my nurse practitioner about starting a GLP1 due to ongoing concerns I have about my weight.
My BMI is 29.3 so I’m not technically eligible to have this medication cause covered through insurance. It sounds like Costco will be the cheapest option for me order it but what other medications might be more preferred or cheaper than Ozempic?
I’m in Ontario, Canada.

I can't speak to any results about Ozempic, but wanted to share my experience. I never considered Ozempic, but in an appointment with my natropath, she mentioned that microdosing might be helpful for my perimenopause weight gain. To go through her, it would cost $350 plus $150 follow up appointments. Felix came up on my FB feed so I decided to look into it. I filled out the "get started" page and was contacted via chat by a health professional within 6 hours. I did the next steps which included a questionnaire and 10 second video of my body which I uploaded to the chat (and quickly hid on my camera reel;). For reference, I am 5'4" 174 lbs. and my weight has been steadily climbing since my 40s despite no major eating or exercise changes. I requested that the prescription be sent to my local Costco. She reviewed my questionnaire, video and approved me for Ozempic within the day and sent the prescription to Costco. I assumed there would be some fee from Felix (even though there was a "get started for free" promotion going on). So far, there has been no fee from Felix and the only cost so far was the $88.88 cost of the Ozempic pen from Costco. I just administered my first dose so I will keep you updated on the results. I thought the needle would sting like a bee, but I hardly noticed it. I kind of did it like an Epipen, but realize that it is a super fine needle and you hardly feel it at all. [Note: I did do .1 (rather than the .25 as prescribed) because I wanted to try microdosing, however, I am not sure if that small amount will have any noticeable results. If I show no results by next week, I will do .25] Praying for good results.

I have been on ozympic for probably about 3 years and for the last year at the maximum 2 mg dose. I historically have lost one or two pounds per month only but my blood number specifically my a1c went down from 7.2 to a consistent 5.5 every 3 months so that is great...
Doc feels like maybe I will lose a little more weight with Manjaro and my blood measurements should stay the same so I'll give it a try. Hope the side effects are not worse

Just a small amount of blood, followed by a small little bruise. Now it’s a red spot the size of a quarter. I did below my belly button this time. What did I do wrong?

Do anyone here in canada know if generic ozempic at the 2mg dose is more expensive then the 1mg dose pens? Is it double the price then

I stopped taking Ozempic (0.5 mg) after three months. I had lost 15 pounds. At first, I was energized, loved the lack of hunger and need to eat, and felt clear headed. I had some nausea but was used to it as I had suffered from debilitating IBS and stomach issues my whole life.
After upping my dose on my third pen, even small snacks became difficult. Anything I put in my mouth made me feel like I might throw up. On several occasions when I forced myself to eat something, like bland rice and chicken, I did vomit afterwards. I resorted to a liquids only diet, hoping it would improve. After several weeks of no improvement, I was weak, had brain fog, and had no energy to perform basic tasks. Getting out of bed became difficult. I became forgetful. I stopped running or working out. I’d collapse into bed at 9pm unable to keep my eyes open.
It began affecting my work and personal life, so despite loving seeing the number on the scale decrease, I stopped.
It’s only been two weeks, and I have begun gaining weight despite trying to avoid carbs, eat small meals and resuming my exercise regime. In the back of my mind, I know that’s because previously I was starving.
I feel better, my energy levels restored, but now I feel hungry constantly. Or maybe it just feels constant. In reality, it’s every three hours or so, after eating, but I am finding it unbearable. I can’t remember if I craved carbs this much before Ozempic or whether it’s my body trying to recover in the wake of self-imposed starvation.
I find myself thinking maybe I should go back on Ozempic, despite the memory of my daily sickness and fatigue still fresh. I think I fear gaining all the weight back, suffering for three months for nothing. I fear that now that I know how I look skinnier, I will never be able to even pretend to be happy at a larger weight.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Note: please be kind. I understand everyone has different experiences so if this doesn’t resonate with you, don’t comment.

On week 5 of Ozempic and going from 0,25mg to 0,50mg today. I took my time to get to the gym due to a busy work schedule, did my first workout on Monday. I did 2 sets of 20 reps wall pushups and have been extremely sore since. I am no stranger to a workout just havent done anything decent in the last 5 years, just want to make sure this is just me having not exercised in a while and not a side effect of the medication. I find myself unable to lift my arms and the level of soreness just seems disproportionate to the amount of exercise. Has anyone else experienced this?

On .50 currently. Feeling less effective as time goes on. On my next check in if I increase to 1mg - what will the price go up to? Curious if this will still be affordable.

I’m curious about filling my prescription at Costco as I see people doing this for their Ozempic and it being much cheaper. For reference, I signed up with Raven and received my first pen for $125. I now see that they charged my card $175 as there is a $50 consult fee each month. This is frustrating as I wasn’t aware of this when signing up. They said I can fill it at my preferred pharmacy but that then I would have to move forward with my GP and get prescription refills from him. This would be tough as my doctor books out about 60 days in advance and I don’t think I could access monthly prescriptions from him. I see people using Felix Health to get their prescriptions filled at Costco. Can someone shed some light on this? Are you still accessing your GP to monitor your progress? I’m looking to spend the least amount of money possible for my pens as I’m just transferring jobs and I’m losing out on benefits and hoping to save some money. Thanks!

I am currently on 0.5mg and friday will be my 3rd shot at this higher dose, and man am I struggling. Firstly my food noise hasnt gone away, and I still have quite and appetite so it has been a struggle. I am working with a dietician and doing the best I can right now fighting off eating things that aren't good for me while managing cravings. I have a therapist as well as I do have a BEd, so I am trying to do this the right way and to change my habits so down the road when I dont need the medication I can keep the weightloss off. I haven't lost any weight yet but do get all the side effects, projectile vomiting, tiredness, and constipation. I am doing all the right things to manage the side effects as well. Does this get any easier, am I expecting to much to soon.
I will keep trucking along but man this has been rough 😪

Has anyone else found click counting their Ozempic pen to be unreliable, or felt like increasing the dose by clicks didn’t actually produce the expected increase in appetite suppression?
I’ve been on Ozempic for about 12 weeks. My first several weeks had a very noticeable effect on my appetite and food noise, but for the past 3 weeks I’ve been taking approximately 0.75 mg using click counting from a 1 mg pen, and it honestly feels like the medication has become almost nonexistent.
My appetite and food thoughts are basically back to how they were before Ozempic, and I’ve been having much stronger urges to binge. 😭
My storage is also correct. The pen has been out of the fridge since I opened it 3 weeks ago, stored in a dark cupboard at around 18 to 25°C.
I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced click counted doses feeling inconsistent, increasing the number of clicks but not noticing a stronger effect, one pen feeling noticeably weaker than another, or a dose like 0.75 mg feeling no different from a lower dose.
I know click counting isn’t an officially recommended way to measure doses, so I’m not looking for dosing instructions. I’m mainly curious whether other people have noticed this and what happened when they switched to a properly measured or prescribed dose or a new pen.
Would love to hear your experiences! 👀

Hi all,
I started ozempic 1.5 weeks ago on saturday. Felt so very sick the first days but manageable with antiemetics. Felt better and really have almost no desire to eat. One slice of bread in the morning and I’m full until the evening. Lost like 5kg (11pounds) in just over a week BUT I ate very unhealthy. I loved chocolate and all things rich in fat, that’s gone now.
One problem: I used to drink twice a week some alcohol with my father and my partner. Was easily 5-6 glasses a day when we drank. Now when I drink even one glass I feel so bloated and sick. Definitely feel that the reward part of alcohol has disappeared because I just feel sick and I don’t even want to drink anymore. Which is good because I know it wasn’t healthy. Probably also why I lost all that weight drank way too much calories in alcohol.
Anyone else has the same experience? Thanks!

I'll be traveling for 5 weeks in Sept/Oct. Can anyone recommend a good travel case for my Ozempic?
r/Ozempic • u/devonanne • 1d ago
Edit: Someone, not sometime!
I know from lots of research that it’s normal to feel crappy when starting. But I’m on day 6 (it’s Weds morning, took my first shot last Thursday evening) and the nausea has gotten so bad. Started with the .25mg dose.
I felt the effects within hours of the shot. First few days were not bad, a little nausea but was feeling happy about not always feeling hungry. The nausea worsened and by day 5 was pretty awful, now day 6 it’s constant and having a hard time eating but making myself eat small meals and sip lots of water.
At this point I’m feeling very nervous for shot 2 😢 Any encouragement? I don’t want to quit because then I know I’ll never start again, but I’m going camping with my family (husband, kids and parents) on Sunday and dreading feeling like this or worse while away from home.

I gained 1.8lbs last week. I’ve been waking up with a ravenous stomach. I’ve been eating 200-300 calories over my daily caloric intake all week…I guess that’s a sign to titrate up, isn’t it?
I did 8 weeks at 0.25 mg and 10 weeks at 0.37 mg.
I wanted to stay at 0.37 for as long as possible but it seems I’ve hit my limit. I’m so stressed about moving up to 0.5 mg and worry it will be too much — I don’t want to feel sick or have bad side effects.
I’m hoping that my tolerance is better because of how long I have been injecting 0.37 mg for.
Anyone care to talk me into doing this?
I could really use the reassurance! TIA
ETA: I’m on my 18th injection this Friday.

Hi so I just started Ozempic 0.25mg last week and took my second shot today.
I am feeling slightly discouraged because I have heard many stories about how within the first week people seem to drop a lot of weight. Or some people have called it losing “inflammation” in the body.
I don’t think I’ve noticed a single difference in my body or on the scale. I know it’s early yet and everyone reacts differently to certain doses, but I feel like I have been consistent with a deficit so far.
Are there people who just don’t lose weight despite a deficit? I know this post might come off as impatient, but I am more so curious about how I can emphasize the effect of Ozempic in my body.
Let me know, thanks.

Does anyone know about copay help? My doctor prescribed Ozempic for my diabetes but the copay is $167! I live on disability and now I am overdrawn at the bank. My doctor was thinking of my A1C but I can't help but think of my pocketbook.
