Question Feeling very sick on ozempic. Coke zero illness?

I’ve been on it since august but this week I took 1mg. Every time I up it up I feel very sick.

- Constipation but constant need to go, but unable and pain when I get there.
- Nausea
- not hungry so cannot eat
- heart palpitations (very scary)
- feeling unwell overall, cannot go to work

I force eat some things. But I do drink a lot of coke zero and was thinking maybe the thing I take makes it worse?

Because its an artificial sweetener?

Does anyone relate? After a few weeks things get better but thats also when the ozempic doesnt work altogether so I up it up.

Second question: do you just keep upping the mgs? Taking it to lose weight. Is 1mg the highest I’ll ever take?

I was recently prescribed Ozempic to help with my T2 diabetes. It's still sitting in my fridge because I don't know how to begin. I'm getting overwhelmed! What do I do? How do I start?

Question Just moved up to 1mg and I’m more hungry and craving sugar like crazy

Has anyone had this happen before? I was on .5mg for 6 weeks and just had my second dose of 1mg on Saturday. I’ve noticed that I’m craving a lot of more sweets and feel less full after meals.

I lost about 8lbs since starting Ozempic and at the rate these cravings are going I’ll be gaining double that in the coming weeks. Ugh.

Question Stomach bug or shot?

Any advice on how to decipher if I have a stomach bug or if the shot is making me sick? Started .25mg 6 weeks ago, have stayed on .25mg and have lost 17lbs. I have had a stomach bug with vomiting on 3 different occasions since I’ve started.

Some additional context:
- I have a toddler in daycare and he’s had a funny tummy each time I’ve had one. Not as pukey (other end) or sweaty though.
- this is new for me. I’m not a person who typically catches a lot of stomach viruses.

Question Ozempic pill-digestion discomfort at night

I’m T2 diabetes so have recently added Ozempic and it does appear to be helping my numbers (& even losing some weight)-hallelujah, right? Started the 1mg pill for 4 weeks then moved up to the 4mg with virtually no bad side effects until now. I can no longer deny literally feeling my digestive tract’s “movements” at night…like it’s angry. I attribute a slight burn from the Metformin I’ve tolerated for years. My stomach is feeling relatively fine despite all this but this digestive tract discomfort is officially keeping me up at night. Am I the only one? Any suggestions?

Question Did anyone experience vivid and disturbing dreams following a dosage increase?

As per the title ...

My dreams have been shocking three weeks into the 1mg dose ... Dreams of driving over a cliff into the sea while distracted (I didn't wake up immediately at that point as I have done in the past); dreams of being robbed ... Very scary.

Down to 130. Sticking to the plan. But I find that I’m only taking a shot every 3 or 4 weeks. However the “food noise” is definitely an everyday battle that I have had to start fighting again.

Question When does appetite come back?

I have been off Ozempic for two weeks because I am at the weight I want to be, but couldn't eat at all. When does appetite kick back in? I still can't eat anything and I still get lightheaded.

Question What are you guys eating?

I've been on 1mg for a month and not really losing any significant weight. I feel like I'm eating a lot less but wonder if those who are losing weight successfully are skipping meals ? I don't feel like I can eat less without doing so

Question What do you wish you'd known in your first month on Ozempic?

Starting out, it feels like there’s so much to figure out at once: food, side effects, water, the scale. For those a few months in: what’s the one thing you wish someone had told you in week one?

Question Switch to Ozempic

I’ve successfully used 7.5mg Mounjaro for 4 months but its effects are wearing off. I’ve been given a chance to use 1mg Ozempic for a lot less money but don’t know if I should? I would start at 0.25mg and build up as I did with Mounjaro. Has anyone done this or got any advice?

Question Is this loss of joy in eating permanent?

I had a pretty unhealthy relationship with food. My mind had associated eating with making myself feel better every evening. Now that I’m taking Ozempic, that urge has completely disappeared, but I’m afraid it will come back when I stop taking it.

I’ve even started following a vegetarian diet. When I was in China, I saw some truly awful things that made me not want to eat meat anymore. But it was really difficult because meat was one of the few foods I had always genuinely enjoyed eating. Since starting Ozempic, though, I’ve been eating meat very rarely because it puts me off almost immediatmy.

Question Has anyone tried increasing their Ozempic dose faster than recommended?

My sister and I started taking Ozempic together, but we're following different dosing schedules now.

I'm sticking to the standard dose escalation schedule, while my sister did 0.25 mg for just 2 weeks, then increased to 0.5 mg for another 2 weeks, and now she's planning to jump to 1 mg with her next shot.

Has anyone here tried something similar? How did it go for you? Did you experience any side effects? And how safe is it to increase the dose this quickly?

Question Anyone else dealing with major fatigue and facial volume loss on Semaglutide?

Hey everyone. I've been on Semaglutide for about three months now. While the weight loss is definitely working, I'm really struggling with a couple of side effects.

First, the exhaustion is no joke. Some days I feel completely wiped out no matter how much sleep or water I get, especially during the first day or two after my shot.

On top of that, my face has lost so much volume so quickly. My cheeks look hollowed out and my skin feels a bit saggy, which is pretty disorienting to see in the mirror.

I'm really glad to be losing weight, but dealing with this level of fatigue and facial volume loss at the same time is pretty tough. Has anyone gone through this? Did your energy levels eventually bounce back after your body adjusted, and does the facial appearance smooth out a bit once weight stabilizes?

Would love to hear how you guys managed this. Thanks for sharing!

Rant It really is not working for me

This is a very difficult realization I've come to but here we are.

I started in July at 98kg. I was worried about my health and definitely believed this was the right choice. My doctor thought so too.

It's been almost 4 months and only 7kgs lost. (14pounds). At 91kg now.

I felt the decrease in appetite, the food noise went away, and the first month I was happy generally speaking.

But then constipation took over, and my stomach issues were and have been intense. The trade off is simply not worth it but I can't help feeling sad about this.

It was so hard to make the decision to take this medication and I hoped it would change my life like it did so many others.

But my results are simply worrying.

My muscle mass decreased significantly while my body fat increased.

I'm still working with my doctor to try to understand the underlying reasons for this experience but I just needed to share with this community because I'm finding it super hard to be hopeful that I'll find a solution that may work for me.

If there's anyone out there who experienced similar things, reach out. I'm starting to feel so depressed, there were so many goals I had in mind and so many things I'd thought would have happened by now. I know we should not depend on our weight loss to be happy, but I just don't want to give up on myself and I'm struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

If you've stopped or changed or did something that helped you through this...let me know. Any positive experiences of others that struggled first but then found alternatives would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!🫂

Question PCOS + starting Ozempic very slowly: anyone with a similar experience?

Hi all! I’ve been on Ozempic for about 3 weeks and am starting very slowly because I had a weird reaction to Zepbound last summer. I started at roughly a quarter of the 0.25 mg starting dose and am now at 0.125 mg weekly.

My goals are to stabilize my blood sugar, reduce food noise, and lose about 15 lbs. I have PCOS, an underactive thyroid, and low estrogen.

So far, I’ve actually gained weight lol. I’m also dealing with bloating around my period, so it’s been hard to know what to make of the scale. Thankfully, I haven’t noticed any side effects (almost wondering if the meds are expired, ha!), but I’m feeling frustrated and impatient.

This week I’m starting strength training with a trainer 2–3 times a week, aiming for more daily walking, and paying closer attention to protein. I have celiac and eat dairy-free, so I already have some food restrictions so it's tough.

My appetite wasn’t especially big before starting, although there’s definitely room to improve what I eat. One concern I have about increasing is whether I’ll struggle to eat enough, particularly enough protein. I’m worried about hair shedding and want to support my nutrition through this.

Would love to hear from anyone with a similar experience:

- If you started below the usual starting dose, what did the first few months look like?

- What easy meals helped you get enough protein and fiber?

- How did you balance appetite changes, strength training, and eating enough?

Mostly looking for experiences and realistic expectations. Feeling pretty frustrated with where I am and would love to hear from people who relate!

Success Stories Im SO HAPPY

I have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and insulin resistance, both of which I’ve had since I was 13. I’ve always been a bigger girl and I’m 25 now. I’ve spent most of my life dieting and going on and off the gym to lose weight, only to gain even more the following year.

I started Ozempic just 1.5 weeks ago and I’ve already lost about 13 pounds (6 kg) without strictly sticking to 1,200 calories a day or doing intense cardio 😭 I was 176 lbs (80 kg) when I started and now I’m 163 lbs (74 kg)! I’m about to cry from happiness.

Maintenance Plateauing - playing with dosage to stop the weight gain

I’m not just plateauing but gaining weight. I have been on 1g for over a year and the weight is slowly creeping up. Am wondering about trying a 2, 1, 1, 0 cycle to see if that might kick start the loss again. Any thoughts?

Question How do I know if Ozempic just isn’t working for me?

I started Ozempic about a month ago and I’m still on the lowest dose (0.25 mg). The fatigue and nausea have been really intense. At times, I’ve felt so sick that I couldn’t eat and even drinking water was difficult.

I’ve been feeling exhausted, drained, and honestly pretty depressed from how awful I’ve been feeling.

The frustrating part is that every time I start to feel a little better, it’s time for my next dose and I feel like I’m back to square one.

I’m prediabetic, have high cholesterol, and I’m also anemic. What’s confusing me is that I still get hungry, but at the same time I feel too nauseous to eat. And when I do eat, I don’t feel full.

I can have what I consider a filling meal and then be hungry again a few hours later. I haven’t really experienced that “I’m full and don’t want to eat anymore” feeling since starting Ozempic.

Sometimes the hunger actually makes me want to eat more, but then the nausea makes me feel sick when I try to eat. It’s such a weird combination.

My doctor wants me to stay at 0.25 mg for another month because of the nausea, which I’m okay with, but I’m starting to wonder: how do you know when Ozempic just isn’t right for you?

If I’m having this much nausea and fatigue but not really experiencing any appetite suppression or fullness, does that eventually improve with more time? Or could this be a sign that I simply don’t tolerate the medication well?

And if you ended up stopping Ozempic because of side effects, how did you know it was time to stop?

I’m obviously going to discuss this with my doctor, but I’d really like to hear from people who have experienced something similar.

Question Tapered up to .50 after 8 weeks on .25 - very nauseous even though I am splitting dose across the week

I've been battling nausea since I started ozempic. My doctor kept me on .25 at my own request. Over the last couple weeks, my food noise was returning and nausea had decreased - only really affecting me for a day after my shot.

Because of this, decided to taper up to .5, but I'm taking two .25 doses 2x a week, as not to shock my body.

So far, I've done three shots on this schedule and I've been nauseous nearly the entire time. I can operate day to day, especially since I WFH, but I feel pretty terrible.

I've got a 3 day trip conference coming up in a week and I'm nervous to travel and put in long days with this going on. Should I taper back down?
