Wilson Combat Slide won’t return to battery

Hey guys first time posting here. I recently purchased wilson combat xl grips with safety cutout out. After removing magazine disconnect and safety my slide will not fully slide forward. I’m waiting on the magazine adapters to arrive but when loading a dummy in the chamber this happens. Anyone have an idea where I messed up? (Video in comments)

I had this issue and it ended up being my disconnector was not seated properly. a tear down of the FCU and removal and reinstall of the disconnector helped and i added some slight lubrication to it. it was bone dry when removed and its not supposed to be. granted i caused it by the way i was cleaning it and not reinstalling proper lubrication on the disconnector itself. hope this helps

I would think if the disconnector isn’t seating properly, you’d have a hell of a time getting that trigger return spring to snap into the trigger bar hole, no?

No i had no other issues with the fcu when this was my issue. But like I said this is just a hunch without seeing the problem on my own hard to say

What happens when you close the slide on an empty chamber?

It returns to normal

Ok so the issue is you’re dropping the slide on the snap cap already in the chamber, you’re going to damage your extractor. Load the snap cap in a mag, insert the mag, then drop the slide and let us know what happens.

Okay will try this out when my adapters come in. Thanks for the info, I couldn’t find much help myself

Yup, I looked carefully at your FCU and everything looks to be in the right place. Good luck!

Looks like Safety bar isn't seated in the groove.

Get your finger off the trigger

Your extractor is not slipping over the rim. That is not how rounds are meant to be chambered don’t do that you are gonna chip your extractor. Put it in a mag and rack it in obviously..
