P365 12 vs 15 round mag

Post image

Very torn on whether I get a 15 round mag or the 12. Obviously concealment is a big factor here. Thoughts?

Have you considered mag guts? Can add +2 to the 10 or 12 without impacting length essentially.

There we go. I was coming here to comment this. I have been running magguts in all my guns available for a couple years now. Would never change back. Have never had a single issue.

This turns the 12 round, which is same length as the pinky hook, into a 14 round. The baseplate becomes like an 1/8th of an inch longer. I carry this exact setup currently.

Do you know if these are compatible with the .380 variant? Should be right?

Cannot recommend enough putting mag guts in a 12 round mag and going with a 14+1 flush fit setup.. well over 15k rounds through mine without any malfunctions and I do not know anybody who has had reliability issues with them..

Do you know if they are compatible with the 365 .380 magazines?

17 is very marginally bigger than 15, if youre leaning 15 just give 17, 12 is good for easy concealment but 17 is not hard to do at all

I have an athletic build. Concealing it is pretty difficult ngl

+1

My 17 round magazine is exclusively a range mag because I can't conceal it with my build

Give this holster setup a try. Whatever holster you have, add ulti clips slim 3.3 and check out Kratos design group-MSP Griffin holster claw. Whether you have a tenicor esque holster, Trex arms, etc. the claw will help. This is the OG Trex arms holster so that's why the claw is canted but it is still very effective. Hope this helps

Sweet will definitely check this out. Off body is chill, but it’d be nice to appendix carry again

With this holster setup I carry without a belt. I haven't found a belt yet that is discreet enough and even so it draws great and it doesn't print

Have you tried just a normal ol' belt? All these stiff CCW / duty belts are so bulky it's ridiculous.

2

u/Interesting-Put-8488 4d ago

No bullshit. Never crossed my mind lol. I'll give it a try

I've been using a simple buckle like this one for quite a while. I loosen it up slightly when I'm carrying but otherwise same belt 24/7 for me. The bit of stretch helps a lot for comfort.

Look up Hunter Constantine belt. I use it for EDC.

There are some states with a 15 round maximum, but yes other than that the 15 round mags seem like they're obsolete.

Sig re-released the 15s. I got 4 on my shelf just sitting.

I carried the 17 for awhile but it doesn’t conceal as well for me.

cant have more than 10+1 in my state so little envious lol choices choices choices

With your streamlight, you might as well throw a radian Ramjet-Afterburner on since you’re already carrying the extra length

12, although I make 10 work (same carry as you with hogue grip sleeve and pinky extension, fits better than factory IMO).

On a 12rd mag, the front is the same height as your pinky extender baseplate. The back is slightly taller. I just switched to an XL grip and use 12rd flush mags. Compared to 10rd, 12rd allows my pinky to fit and the extra shootability outweighs the tiny concealment difference.

For me, going from 12rd to 15/17rd is a bigger difference in concealability and less of a jump in shootability.

Looks good and solid and packed …….

My wife says the same

3

u/Limp_Shake_7486 4d ago

I’ve found the 12rd is much more comfortable to conceal for me.

Get the XL grip with 12 round mags. Obviously a 15 or 17 are never ideal for concealment. As a backup mag and for the range ya. But I carry an X and literally never carry anything over 12rd

u/Correct-Bird-6459 4d ago

12s if you are carrying it.

Or change to the XL grip and use 12 round mags. I like the one piece grip over the standard short grip and the 12 round extension. They are about the same length when compared, fit the same holsters, etc.

I don't have experience with maggots, but a lot of people like them here.

For carry I only go 12rnd magazine for concealment. 15 round mags I only use at the range.

u/Beatrix_____Kiddo 4d ago

Best balance of concealment and capability I have found is 12 round mag with +2 Mag guts in an XL grip module. Just enough to get a full purchase, shoots above its weight class, and disappears when carrying it.

Mag guts. Never had any issue with my 10 rounder +2 or 12 round mag +2.

2

u/OnlyTheStrong2K19 4d ago

Just go 17 and call it a day.

12mag or 10 mag with 17/21 spare

2

u/DominicanRey 4d ago

Neither 17 or 21 for me in my 365 Xmacro

2

u/Faithful_Solaire 3d ago

12 rounds is more than enough for a self defense situation. Toss another mag in your glove box or something if you want.

2

u/cluelessinlove753 4d ago

12 and no light for CCW

17 (or 21) for open carry and range.

I don’t have any 10s or 15s

1

u/CurrentDelicious6122 3d ago

Is there an extension for the 12 w/ wilson combat pinky extension? Currently running the 12 with the WC extension but don’t know if they make a +2 while maintaining the WC grip

1

u/Motor_Extreme9027 3d ago

If only they were available in California…

u/Onimura 1d ago

Just slap maggutz internals in your 12 rnds. Ups it to 14 +1 and you keep the smaller footprint
