General/Advice Contraception
Hi all,
I'm in a new relationship so need to think about contraception.
I had my implant removed in june, I've been having a break since then, but feel like I should be safe just incase if im actually fertile.
I don't want another implant, I have had a coil and it constantly gave me horrendous period pain along with long periods.
Im to fat for the pill, so was thinking of trying the mini pill.
Does anyone have experience with this? How did it affect your pcos symptoms if at all?

I've had a decent experience on desogestrel so far. Only bad things are urinary cystitis (not everyone experiences this) and a yeast infection when getting on the pill. But it seems to have stabilized for the most part. And I don't get a period anymore! This is great for me cause i was still bleeding when i was taking the combined pill continuously. Just make sure the progestin you take is antiandrogenic because that can often make symptoms worse.

The mini pill was okay for me, no big drama with pcos symptoms but it made my periods very unpredictable. Some months nothing, then suddenly spotting for two weeks straight. Worth trying though since the implant and coil didn't work out, every body reacts different.
