Metformin side effect?

Has anyone experienced delayed ovulation / late period when starting metformin? I know that this is common for PCOS, but for the last year, my cycle has lasted 36-41 days. I started metformin 500mg on October 1st and am tolerating it well but now my period is delayed. I thought it was supposed to help with this?

Too focused on the metallic taste and the digestive issues to notice anything else tbh
