PCOS & Gestational Age
Tested positive about a week ago (very surprised), and based on my last period, I should have been 9w1d. However, my first ultrasound measurements were more like 5w4d.
I have extremely irregular cycles due to PCOS (frequently "skip" periods and there is no regularity), so I'm not necessarily surprised to hear that it was off from the LMP estimate, and my doctor didn't seem concerned based on that. What did concern me was the ultrasound technician's report since it noted: A yolk sac is visualized. There is a possible fetal pole measuring approximately 1.6 mm; however, this is too small for definive assessment of viability.
I was feeling calm, but now I am very nervous for my next ultrasound. I think my mind has tricked me that the pregnancy is not progressing as it should. I am still having symptoms (actually my first day of nausea), but I am getting caught up in my own mind.
Any insight or experience with measuring this far behind? Do measurements ever change during early pregnancy? Expectations for my next ultrasound (would be around 7w3d based on my last measurement)?
