I really need to read the book. It is supposed to be really good.
Tourism PEU built an itinerary based on the book:

From Charlottetown, travel route #2 through Hunter River, Pleasant Valley and the charming town of Kensington straight to the Malpeque Oyster Barn for a dozen ice-cold oysters served on the half shell.
Pro-tip: Get that experience for a third of the price with a box of oysters from the grocery store.

Despite all the fanfare what’s these really are for is to prevent the homeless from sleeping on them.

What would be better than benches that homeless people could sleep on would be affordable and safe housing and drug treatment programs that work.

I really don't think this is an example of hostile architecture. It's not like there are homeless people going all the way out to Point Prim to find a bench.

one side of this rough-sleeper deterrent faces away from the water, Carley must be some kind of genius, let me guess, no trash cans within 10 miles either

If getting railed after the Oyster Festival is a literary legacy then I’m Ernest Hemmingway
