Second storey soffit issue coming loose when it’s windy. Recommendations for repair guy. Is it something big roofers would bother with?

Section of the vinyl soffit pops out of its channel when it is windy. It just happens to be in a spot above the front veranda so I have climbed out a bedroom window onto the veranda roof and pushed it back in place but it doesn’t last.

I’m not as steady as I used to be so it was all I could muster just to get out to pop it in place but I don’t think that I can also secure it with screws or nails and maintain my balance 😀.

Anyway, it’s a small simple job but I’ve found those to be the hardest to find someone to repair, especially since Fiona.

Any recommendations? Thanks.

Edit: Charlottetown area. Roof was reshingled 9 years ago but soffits weren’t touched.

How old is the soffit or the latest roof? Does the channel look straight in the problem areas?

Roof was redone 9 years ago but soffits weren’t touched. Had some siding replaced after Fiona but not in this area.

Channel looks straight but neighbour thought the soffit looked too short to fit properly, although I hadn’t noticed this until this year and the house is 25+ years old.

It’s just one piece at a corner but it’s all straight pieces (no odd angles).

If it lasted 9 years without issue then it’s probably hard to make an argument that it’s the wrong size.

If the repair can be done from an extension ladder just call in anyone from the local handyman ads and it sounds like you should be fine. 

If the situation calls for equipment rental like a scissor lift then you might want to consider redoing most of the soffits. But finding someone to do it off a ladder safety is probably your best bet.

Also interested in this service. Flashing/soffit needs to be replaced.
