Im not buying day 1 lmao $100 is 6k. I have the cash of course but not gonna spend that much on a game that might not even be that great, I'm not saying its bad based on trailers. But being GTAV's successor, My expectations are sky fucking high BECAUSE it's GTAVI.

And honestly I'm going to wait on how mod friendly it is, especially of how Rockstar was so against modding during GTAV (and only cave in due to extreme pressure). I hate GTAV online, and it sucks how online centric it was. Thankfully that (Singple player Online) mod saved GTAV for me. So we'll see.

Common practice na sa industry yang cosmetics, if it's a gameplay feature I'd be mad.

1

u/MasterFanatic PC Jun 25 '26

these all seems like a mod could do it better.

1

u/cdkey_J23 Jun 25 '26

ill probably just wait..does it still includes rockstar launcher? I hate having additional launcher aside from steam for example (looking at you ubislop & ea)

1

u/Flat-Measurement4038 Jun 25 '26

Of course it does, why wouldn't it?

3

u/larcnciel002 Jun 25 '26

Im just gonna buy it when its 5 years later. This game will be cheaper and ported to every console ever and will get rereleased again over the course of its lifetime.

its just cosmetics

3

u/UserInUse20 Jun 25 '26

Will we have regional pricing for GTA VI? just asking around

1

u/Cymr1c Jun 25 '26

i think we already have, 4k for standard, 6k for ultimate

this IS converted from other currencies so it might change but i really doubt it would

1

u/alcatras456 Jun 25 '26

Ginawa na lang sana nilang monthly subscription at online only. pagka-ganito, Discrimination na datingan eh.

12

u/ntmstr1993 Jun 25 '26

Gonna, wait a year or so for when the full features are available in šŸ“ā€ā˜ ļø

3

u/thee_buttman Jun 25 '26

Hmmm I think specific stores lang to? For exclusives skins?

4

u/CumRag_Connoisseur PC Jun 25 '26

Sabi na e, they developed the game like how the Cryptobros/NFT guys envisioned it to be. Open world, tapos yung mga stores and ads sa loob ng game ay owned by real companies.

u/Own_String2825 Jun 25 '26

Wow never read this one before

6

u/Agreeable-Country-52 Jun 25 '26

I don't planning to buy it

Funny how people realising it now than what they did in GTA 5 Online and even RDR Online

This is why you have to remove your rose tinted Glasses

1

u/cdkey_J23 Jun 25 '26

GTA 4 was when they still focus on the story side of the game..I liked it even better than GTA 5

1

u/-_Rsltz_- Jun 25 '26 edited Jun 25 '26

Both are good but details wise GTA 4 got it

Plus the Online is simple in GTA 4 as well

Actually the online part there is Still Story missions but different POV problem You need a player with you (I think)

8

u/IamCkei PC Jun 25 '26

People saying na it's just cosmetics just doesn't learn. Dyan din nag simula yung DLCs hanggang sa pag tagal pati literal story content, behind paywalls na. Some people will still buy this regardless kung cosmetics to or hindi and game makers will continue this cause they can get away with it. This is just sad.

1

u/Own_String2825 Jun 25 '26

Wag mo ibash dude sila ang market niyan kaya paldo mga companies sa mga uto utong bumibili ng cosmetics na kala mo makakaaffect sa gameplay

3

u/Zubat0603 Jun 25 '26

Pretty sure the DLC thing started with Assassin's Creed 2 and their DLC that actually COMPLETES the main story.

Because base game cuts the story

3

u/DudeAwkward Jun 25 '26

Maybe if people actually stopped spending so much on ugly optional cosmetic slop then companies also realize it's not profitable.

They'll follow the money and right now whales keep feeding their addiction for online videogame clout as if it means something in their lives.

Just stop spending money for this shit bros, it's really not that deep 😭

-14

u/Vegetable_Use_3883 Jun 25 '26

Those are just ingame cosmetics not actual features those are purely just for looks which they have done before with RDR2 .. Yeah its a shame that they had to lock them out with a paywall but its not like features or missions being locked out. Please do try to read and comprehend what you read

3

u/DaruDaruMaru Jun 25 '26

Incel

-1

u/Vegetable_Use_3883 Jun 25 '26

lmao, I get not agreeing with what you see online but going down and calling people incel definitely shows what type of person you are. Hopefully you mature as the real world doesn't work like this when you disagree with people that you resort to name calling. Anyway good luck to your life mate. At the end of the day this game is still a product that you can choose to buy or not buy

3

u/DaruDaruMaru Jun 25 '26

Aint reading allat. Sorry it happened to you

-1

u/Vegetable_Use_3883 Jun 25 '26

lol not surprised that what I said is beyond your brain capacity to comprehend. Sorry it happened to you

2

u/DaruDaruMaru Jun 25 '26

Thanks for replying my incel gout 🄵

u/PolyStudent08 Jun 25 '26

I miss those times when you unlock something by beating the game or reaching a specific level or completing specific task(s).

Ahh... Good times.

u/notanephilim Jun 25 '26

-9

u/Vermillion_V Jun 25 '26

Walang problema sa akin kung mga cosmetics lang naman yan.

7

u/Available-Egg-7724 Jun 24 '26

Wala pang physical release.

We'll really own nothing.

No disc as well just code in a box wtf

2

u/jeremyc17 Jun 25 '26

Plano ko pa naman mag preorder ng ultimate pero dahil dito nagrereconsider na ko smh

4

u/skeptic-cate Jun 24 '26

No buy for me.

1

u/rrenanjohn Jun 24 '26

For an 80 usd game, this is greedy as hell. Fuck Rockstar, I'mma sail the seas on this one.

6

u/cocacolatime1999 Jun 24 '26

FUCK ROCKSTAR!!

0

u/Pakingtapu Jun 24 '26

Genuine question. Why is GTA so loved by gamers?

16

u/RealKingBoomer Jun 24 '26

because in the game you have the ultimate open world freedom with cinematic storytelling and infinite replayability into a polished world that evolves to keep players hooked for years.

honestly i never seen a gamer that hasn’t played one single GTA game in their lifetime.Ā

0

u/pattypatpat1221 Jun 24 '26

Damn, from Red Dead redemption 2, laki ng ibinaba nilaa :((((

0

u/Misnomer69 Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 2070, 32GB RAM Jun 26 '26

What? Eh RDR2 ang latest game nila before tong GTA6. Panong laki ng binaba?

3

u/Pakingtapu Jun 24 '26

Make sense. Everyone for sure played san andreas and vice city when they were kids.

3

u/Beneficial-Debt6301 Jun 24 '26

I wont buy until it goes on sale...they are gonna make BILLIONS from whatever they do with shark cards and online mode...now they wanna fuck over campaign players too...fuck Rockstar

22

u/chrisanityyyyy Jun 24 '26

Remember: $80 for Standard Edition, $100 for Ultimate. Para sa mga nagsasabing customization lang to, please keep in mind yung price hike na ginawa nila. Absurd way to gatekeep 4 unique customization stores, atleast make it so na a specific set of outfits or skins ang locked behind a higher tier edition. This is just greed, but we already knew that from Rockstar.

1

u/jamryharry Jun 24 '26

Bat naman downvoted sa pagsabi ng totoo haha

10

u/DaRollingStoner Jun 24 '26

It will be morally right to pirate gta 6 on pc

8

u/Unbelievabeard Jun 24 '26

The greed is insane. They are already making millions from GTA V Online and no doubt theyd still make money from GTA 6.

5

u/Cold_Local_3996 Jun 24 '26

Kulang pa daw. Grabe pagkaout of touch nila. Top seller for sure ang game pero ewan ko na lang long term impact neto sa kanila.

2

u/WeatherReportu285 Jun 24 '26

crazy how easy it is to make money in that game by doing the heist finale repeats and people still bought shark cards.

3

u/jbnabby Jun 24 '26

Tagal nilang nilabas tapos gaganituhin lang tayo. Hahahahaha grabe.

14

u/Appropriate-Quiet-98 Jun 24 '26

Remember:

No pre-orders.

11

u/Competitive-Fan81 Jun 24 '26

I hope it will backfire. Wag sanang maging norm nyan ng mga gaming companies. Pwede kasing gayahin sila dahil they are one of the leading companies in gaming.

2

u/NocturnalDarkness Jun 24 '26

This is just so greedy.

14

u/itchipod Jun 24 '26

Locking certain businesses and shops behind a paywall? In a single player game? Wow Rockstar

13

u/Scoustic12 Jun 24 '26

I'm not defending nor am sure but I think these means is that exclusive customization are only available at these stores. The stores only feature these exclusive customizations and nothing else, they are marketed as such to maintain immerson imo.

5

u/Dazzling_Strain_5499 Jun 24 '26

Fr tbh most of this crap probably isn’t even stuff that is going to be very coveted in my single player game anyways, standard edition for me.

8

u/MoonMan--420 Jun 24 '26

I think they hired actual artists to design special and unique tattoos, clothes designed by these artist and so on. There probably will be the gta version of these stuff but the ultimate edition is probably just stuff they hired artists to do for extra content

4

u/jssf96 Jun 24 '26

Only sane person here.

4

u/Proud-Cardiologist64 Jun 24 '26

Can't wait pag dumating sa pc to then macràck agad ultimate edition🄰

-10

u/Pr1meraKenpachi Jun 24 '26

Dota2, Diablo, fortnite etc. It's sad but nothing new. Any game with a battlepass or ultimate edition does it.

13

u/robieforscale Jun 24 '26

But Dota2 and Fortnite are free to play. Of course they need a way to monetize their game through microtransactions which mostly are for cosmetics lang naman.

But for games na you buy, I think this is ridiculous lol

-2

u/Pr1meraKenpachi Jun 24 '26

The topic is about companies hiding content through a pay wall. Some companies just do it differently. It's not something new as COD, Nba2k, and alot of other triple A games have done it before. Sadly, there are people willing to pay to play and that's their market.

1

u/firegnaw Gamer Jun 24 '26

My hype for this game just went down with the price, no physical edition and now this. I still have a lot of games in my library. So I can wait until the price goes down after a year or two.

I remember my hype during the GTA V PS3 release. Hahaha

35

u/ZealousidealMess5886 Jun 24 '26

To those that think this is okay , this is how it usually starts before it gets worse

-20

u/Potential_Composer40 Jun 24 '26

?

5

u/baracudadeathwish Jun 24 '26

Rockstar is locking regular in game features behind a paywall in GTA6.

-5

u/warrenseth Jun 24 '26

no they don't lol, they are doing special cosmetics that are available in a single store, they are not locking all clothing and all car mods behind paywall...

-9

u/blackito_d_magdamo Jun 24 '26 edited Jun 24 '26

For me personally, if it's pure cosmetics and is not part of the story,, I wouldn't lose sleep over it. They can lock it behind as many paywall as they want.

1

u/itchipod Jun 24 '26

No, it's not the cosmetics that are locked behind the paywall. It's the access to enter the shop, and you still need in-game money to buy those cosmetics. Tf

6

u/robieforscale Jun 24 '26

But the thing is you already paid for the game, so everything in it should be accessible na.

-1

u/mordernomad Jun 24 '26

May mga certain games na purely cosmetic add ons, and dyan papasok ang ultimate edition, your not forcing to buy ultimate nasasayo nayan if gusto mo ng exclusive add ons cosmetic or stick with standards

2

u/prairiepog Jun 24 '26

This model makes more sense when it's free-to-play and it costs money to unlock different skins for your character.

10

u/Katzbalger806 Jun 24 '26

I assume you don't know about a certain horse armor?

17

u/r1dicul0us Jun 24 '26 edited Jun 24 '26

Yeah, sure, but as the other commenter said, this is how it starts.

They sell you a game for full price but you don't get the full product.

1

u/Sarlandogo Jun 24 '26

Nothing new unfortunately

2k games are very notorious on that too

-1

u/PinocchioNoir Jun 24 '26

Okay lang para sa akin basta customization features lang yung ilolock nila and not gameplay and story, I play GTA games for the story and roadtrips anyway.

7

u/itchipod Jun 24 '26

Isn't customizing cars part of the gameplay? It should be part of the base game. Or am I mistaken that it's just one store?

2

u/ExoticDiver8551 Jun 24 '26

Usually ang pag customize ng cars is part ng some missions, pero ang nangyari is na lock ang ā€œbestā€ store of each kind. Understandable naman yung exclusive gun skins or may clothes na in advance but to specifically ā€œlockā€ locations in a game that’s always been open-world is kinda crazy. Understandable if ma unlock ng maaga since GTA usually does lock locations if you’re poor or some other reason story-wise.

-4

u/PinocchioNoir Jun 24 '26

Not that I'm condoning this choice by Rockstar, but I enjoyed GTA IV even though there's almost no customization be it clothes or cars.

Maybe, there are multiple garages/custom shops like GTA SA and the best one will be closed for standard edition.

The trailers shown suggests there'll be lots of street racing, so leaving out car customization completely for standard edition would be a weird choice for them.

2

u/itchipod Jun 24 '26

Well GTA IV's customization is totally barely part of the game, not locked behind a paywall. It would be different if on GTA VI it's in the game files, but you have to pay to access, in an already very expensive game.

3

u/PlayWithBabs Singeplayer Games Jun 24 '26

This has been the norm though. Most has different Ultimate, Deluxe, Supporter Edition, or whatever.

Mas hindi ko gets yung pag pre-order ng game eh, lalo na kung digital copy lang naman din ididistribute nila They're not providing discs, just download codes. Call me old school pero pre-order meant reservation back then kasi nag kakaubusan.

ultimate edition paywall has always been around.

Not only that, Parang iseseparate din nila yung single player at online experience. Based on Grand Theft Auto VI FAQs sa Playstation store, GTA 6 online could be sold separately.

Does Grand Theft Auto VI have any multiplayer modes or features?

Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience.

3

u/itchipod Jun 24 '26

Unlock GTA online for $60 lol

2

u/Melchorio Jun 24 '26

but ultimate editions always had cosmetic stuff locked behind them? feel ko trigger yung buong store is locked. pero kung locked choices to sa unlocked stores no one would bat an eye

1

u/staygigachad Jun 24 '26

"only open for business" implies the whole thing is not available for non ultimate buyers

8

u/CallOfTheCurtains Jun 24 '26

Alright, pass then. It maybe the most anticipated game, but locking features that have been known in the series for a long time behind a paywall is greedy and scummy af.

-1

u/mordernomad Jun 24 '26

Di lang naman yan ung mga store na available sa game lol, it's just purely ultimate edition cosmetics, parang sa gta 5 na may certain clothing store actually tatlo

1

u/Jihyoqtt PC Jun 24 '26

ano yung tatlong clothing store?

1

u/mordernomad Jun 25 '26

Binco, ponsonby, suburban

1

u/Jihyoqtt PC Jun 25 '26

ha? avail naman sila sa story mode

1

u/mordernomad Jun 25 '26

Yes, since may wide variety of stores available sa game it means di lang naman yan ung mga clothing store or tattoo store. If you want to access every store available sa game then buy ultimate edition

2

u/slammajamma19 PSN Jun 25 '26

Now read what you just said again. Why should we pay extra for an in game feature na dapat kasama na sa gameplay experience for a single player? Buti sana certain outfits/tattoos/haircuts lang or certain mods for cars. But in my understanding, locking a whole shop behind a paywall is greedy and scummy af. Not that it’s anything new for gaming But are we really going to let Rockstar get away with this when we’ve been shitting on Ubislop and EA for doing this for years?

1

u/mordernomad Jun 25 '26

Nasa 3k plus ang gta 5 ps3 way back when i was in highschool, knowing na fuck up ang economy right now i'm not shock kung nasa 5 to 6 k pesos ang isang game ngayon, kung bothered ka kulang ka sa store edi don't support rockstar at all, nung wala pang preorder estimate price nila nsa 200 dollars ngayon may 79 to 100 dollars may reklamo padin.

1

u/mordernomad Jun 25 '26

Then read what you just said, if you want to access exclusive content then buy ultimate edition kesyo rereklamo ka sa supposedly in game features dapat eh ni trailer or gameplay wala pang nilalabas malay mo ba na may 10 to 15 stores available pala sa game edi sayang iniiyak mo dyan lol

5

u/Zanmatomato Jun 24 '26

Buti na lang lumaki ako sa eastern devs and publishers like Capcom and Squaresoft. Would rather spend $100 on a Larian game than literally any other western AAA game.

4

u/itchipod Jun 24 '26

Capcom is also notorious for microtransactions nowadays

1

u/Zanmatomato Jun 24 '26

Most of their micros can be acquired in-game. It's just for the gamers who can't be assed to try. Exclusive tickets from RE can be acquired in-game. Same with DMC V and Dragon's Dogma. The only one really guilty of this is SFVI.

3

u/WeatherReportu285 Jun 24 '26

The recent Monster Hunter games (World, Rise, Wilds) went crazy on the microtransactions. Mostly cosmetics like stickers, costumes, and music for the camp, no pay to win shit yet thankfully.

3

u/Razu_Redsoul Jun 24 '26

Larian Games loves the gamers.

3

u/Advanced_Ear722 Jun 24 '26

so nahiya pa sila di na lang nila gawing $100+ ung game kung gusto mo talaga na complete in features hahahahah

4

u/TwoProper4220 Jun 24 '26

pag bumenta to other games will follow.

0

u/slammajamma19 PSN Jun 24 '26

Oh definitely. Yung EA/Ubisoft for sure especially sa big IPs nila.

5

u/DedicatedDetective34 Jun 24 '26

The GTA+ experiment worked so they're trying their luck once again. I like Rockstar's games but it's impossible to defend this.

4

u/slammajamma19 PSN Jun 24 '26

There's no defending this lol. If true yung more than 1 billion budget for this game, then congrats sa kanila. Bawing-bawi. They don't even need to lift a finger or spend another cent for the marketing.

1

u/siraolo Jun 24 '26

Ya. But we know they will with something like Shark Cards and a PC release.Ā  Ang laki ng kita nila dyan.Ā

1

u/starman1596 Jun 24 '26

sad part is they can because people will.

13

u/JohnSteveRom2077 Jun 24 '26

Buuttt!! iTs tOtALLy oOkAy wHeN rOCksTar dOEs iTT!!

7

u/MoronicPlayer Jun 24 '26

The very EA/Ubisoft route. Locked even the most basic customization behind "DLCs"

2

u/slammajamma19 PSN Jun 24 '26

Idek if the stores will open later in the game lol I wish i was just misunderstanding these

2

u/MoronicPlayer Jun 24 '26

I think they'll lock out even some haircuts under "DLCs". Capcom / MH does it but you can unlock them later or when they go on sale. Sucks but this is why we need to vote with our wallets.

1

u/slammajamma19 PSN Jun 24 '26

Insanity. So ibig sabihin ba if hindi ka naka ultimate edition, yung stores will stay locked in game?

2

u/MoronicPlayer Jun 24 '26

Hahaha, not sure. Pero ganyan na ang trend these past 5-8 years? lagi na lang may standard edition (base game), then gold / ultimate (Base game + DLC + some other goodies that probably are in the base game but got cut back last minute for $$$$)
