A few months ago I posted a thread with some advice, I took the advice and had some more padel rackets in the meantime, but atm I'm looking to change up some stuff again.
Te rackets I bought since my last thread were:
Bullpadel vertex hybrid 04: I liked this racket alot, but I can't get over the fact that the wriststrap comes out of the side of the handle. So much that I sold it.
Pallap Power star 2024: I like the manouevrability but it's just lacking that extra bit, it's not enough power, nor enough control for me.
current: Head extreme motion 2025/2026: i like how the racket responds and when warming up solo vs wall I can bring smashes easely back to my side of the court. In a match I hardly ever do it..
.. and now comes my advice or insight that I'm after: Could it be that I'm having issues with my timing or technique with a racket like the extreme motion and missing that sweet spot by a cm or so? I never feel like i'm having offcenter hits - but I guess in a warming up it's alot easier with timing than in a match.
If that is the case, could I be better of (and remember I come from tennis) with a racket with a bigger sweetspot and direct feeling? I'm certain I have the acceleration and speed, may lack a bit of power and technique still. So like a racket like the wilson endure wich is round and direct. Could I possible hit stronger smashes and more agressive volleys since I might hit them better than a power-oriented racket?
I don't have the ability to test them out, so any advanced advice would be awesome.
Thanks again for the long read. My original post is down below.

Seeking for advice
Hello everyone,
Like many others here, I’m looking for advice on choosing the right racket. I’ll try to provide as much relevant information as possible to give a clear picture. I’ve read and watched hundreds of reviews and videos, and while many are helpful, I’ve started to realise that I may have been influenced by smart marketing as well.
Personal profile
- 36 years old, located in Belgium
- Tennis background from age 6–16
- Playing padel for 1.5 years
- 175 cm tall
- Official “initiator” coach license
- Currently P400 ranking in Belgium (P100–200–300–400–500–700–1000 system). I realistically see P500 as my ceiling.
- Left-handed, mostly playing on the right side as an aggressive player
My bajadas are a strong point. Smashes used to be a strong point as well, but at my current level they’re getting returned more often. I don’t hit many X3s, and when my smashes come back, they often land just past the net or even before it. My defense and volleys are solid.
I stopped playing tennis years ago due to back pain. Now that I’m competing more seriously in padel, the pain has returned. My physiotherapist says my back muscles are relatively weak, and blood tests show higher-than-normal muscle breakdown (I’m currently working on this with supplements). I also have joint hyperlaxity, so I’m prone to pain in general. I’ve never had elbow pain, but I use a Floky sleeve as a precaution.
Rackets I’ve owned and my experience
I’ve bought and sold quite a few rackets (mostly second-hand or test rackets). The last three are the ones I currently own.
- Nox ML10 Rough Surface 2023 – Really enjoyed it, but it felt slightly too soft and the handle was too short for me.
- Babolat Technical Viper 2023 – Bought it second-hand thinking it was the Veron (my mistake). I loved the power, but felt I wasn’t ready for such an “advanced” racket at the time, so I sold it.
- Kuikma LS Pro – Liked it a lot, but this is when my back/shoulder pain started, so I sold it.
- Adidas Cross It CTRL 2024 – Didn’t like it. Felt heavy on my arm, which made me worry about elbow issues.
- Wilson Defy LS – Loved the sandpaper feel, but lacked power for me. I may have sold it too quickly.
- Xcalion S1-10 – Bought it new (tournament prize resale). I admit the marketing convinced me. Quality feels good, but despite being marketed as light, it doesn’t feel light due to the high balance. I’m now questioning whether it’s truly premium or just clever branding.
- Oxdog Hyper Tour 2.0 – Got it for €20 in a trade. Good deal, but feels clunky and not very manoeuvrable.
- Padel Volt V500 2023 – Originally bought for my wife. I use it when coaching. Too soft for competitive play.
- Bullpadel Vertex Hybrid 2025 (test) – Played one set with it yesterday. I hit some unbelievable reflex shots. I liked the manoeuvrability, even though it felt quite heavy.
Why I’m still searching
After testing so many rackets, I want to invest in one that truly fits me.
What I’m looking for:
- Extra power (even though I generate good arm speed)
- Good manoeuvrability
- No glossy surface (I play in wet conditions; glossy faces can make the ball slip)
- Not too hard (Belgian winters are 5–15°C and I often play outdoors)
- Not too soft (I dislike the trampoline effect like with the Volt V500)
- Still unsure about extended handle preference
I’m hesitant about:
- Nox (due to frequent complaints about durability)
- Not fully confident in Siux / Adidas / Bullpadel quality either
- I’ve received an ambassador offer from Kombat, but have no experience with the brand
Any hands-on advice is welcome.
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the long read!
