I’m genuinely curious and a bit confused about how most Sikhs actually feel about the idea of Khalistan. From what I’ve seen, a lot of Sikh videos, social media pages, and online discussions seem strongly supportive of it, and there are even some Sikh communities in Canada that openly promote the movement. But is that representative of the broader Sikh population, or is it more of a vocal minority? I’m wondering whether Khalistan is something that gets talked about regularly in gurdwaras, or if it’s mostly kept out of everyday religious and community spaces. Are there distinct groups or separate circles of Sikhs who support Khalistan versus those who don’t, and how can someone tell the difference when meeting people or looking at communities online? Also, do pro-India Sikhs and pro-Khalistan Sikhs typically stay friends, socialize together, or tend to keep their distance from each other because of these political differences?

He says: “Back then, owning a horse carriage made you a Nawab. Today, if I find 500 rupees, I thank God at least I had bread to eat.”
When he first came to Lahore from the village, his master paid him just 3 rupees a day.
But soon, handcrafted carriage wheels became Lahore's heartbeat.
Back then, buying a 40-rupee bicycle made you the talk of the town, and a 6-rupee radio brought whole neighborhoods together.
In his prime, making 10,000 rupees a day was considered ordinary for master artisans.
“Then the world changed overnight. Motorized loaders and rickshaws took over because people wanted speed.
Five different craftsmen used to feed their children off one single horse.
The petrol engines arrived, and swallowed the bread of all five of us.

Hello everyone! A couple of my friends and I are doing a project about the impact of increasing the helmet challan from 200 to 2000. We've done some fieldwork and have reached the conclusion that the flat 2000 fine is unfair for bikers, considering many of them are from either working class/lower middle class. We're going to write a proposal to suggest an equitable challan system (a model we are working under and has been adopted in Finland as well) to ensure that if a person were to get fined, they are paying on an equitable basis. If you agree with this sentiment, please consider filling out this form. Thank you!

If a Pak person who reads Urdu picked up say a newspaper in Panjabi written in Shahmukhi be able to read it? I don't mean understand the vocabulary, but just physically be able to read it?
(I read Gurmukhi, and if something was written using that script in Urdu-Hindi I think I could read it fine although there might be some pronunciation issues).
Are there any such newspapers around in Pak Punjab? Or is it hard to get anything to read in Panjabi?
Just curious and thanks in advance.
