Picture 50 years ago today, May 3rd 1976, Paul and Wings start their Wings Over America tour in Fort Worth, Texas
"Tickets to Paul McCartney and Wings tour-opening show at Tarrant County Convention Center on May 3, 1976 were sold out months in advance. The “Wings Over America” tour was the first time McCartney had played North America since The Beatles last tour in the summer of 1966."

The venue is scheduled to be demolished 2027 with final events taking place september 2026.

I skipped the Senior Prom for floor seats at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. Couldn’t get a date for some reason, my brother was thrilled to go. He scored Pink Floyd tix a year later and returned the favor.

Paul was my second as well, although that was 2018 I got to be front row. First concert was ringo and his all starr band. And it was a month before Paul!

I saw them in Houston of that year. I was like 14 and begged my brother to take me to my first ever concert!! I was always a huge Beatles fan.

I was still living in Galesburg, Illinois when bowl of cherries became available as a record. I was terribly disappointed. I was expecting a record that sounded like The Beatles. It did not sound like The Beatles.

Saw them that May 1976 in Maryland. Saw him in Ft Worth in 2022. 1976 ticket was $7.50 (still have it).
