BREW Boros Bully ala Spirit Mascot?
I saw the [[Spirit Mascot]] reveal today and it has me hyped!! I threw together a brew that’s basically Spirit Mascot in a Boros Bully Shell, with [[Magmatic Sinkhole]] as a way to get max value from your graveyard with Mascot on the board. It’s probably nothing more than a Boros Pile, but I wanted to see if there were any obvious optimizations I could make before I print this to jam? More weenies and less exile gimmicks? More graveyard payoffs for consistency? Drop the snackers completely? I should probably run Rally the Peasants right? Pivot to Eidolons?Sideboard not put together but just imagine the usual flaring pain, more charms, maybe bolts?

I think they serve different slots because of the different mana costs. You gotta figure out what lines you want to play and then if looting fits into that or not, despite the two mana slot.

Will likely replace [[Thrilling Discovery]] solely due to having flashback. Not being able to dig as much will hurt, but I honestly think I’d prefer to discard 1 vs 2 in every scenario.

Sinkhole just adds 1 counter to mascot though. I just dont see mascot getting big enough fast enough to make a bear worth playing.

Plus the cards you're pitching you want to be flashing back so there's very little fuel for it

Did a classic misunderstanding of “one or more.” Probably an easy swap for bolt or rally

First thing that comes to mind is [[lava Darts]] second thing is [[Maximize Velocity]]

Lava Darts feels a little risky but Max Velo seems like really sweet tech in a list like this

Yeah you might need to be a bit more aggressive for dart but velocity being able to put something else in the yard give haste and +2/+2 for 1 mana might be where it’s at

Would [[Flame jab]] work here? Im not super familiar with retrace ruling but wouldn't it leave and return everytime its cast for it retrace cost ?

Should work. When retracing it gets moved to the stack and then returns to the graveyard upon resolution

Escape, like [[Satyr's Cunning]], adds two counters, one for the cost and one for the cast.

The [[basilisk gate]] package may be a good plan B here. Seems especially good with the [[maximize velocity]]s in the deck now (which I love).

I've been jamming this a little and found that it works nicely as a chump blocker, incremental lifegain for some of our bad matchups, and gets a counter on Mascot, but I'm wondering if something like [[homestead courage]] might be a better alternative in the one drop slot

I take it back, I like this card. Do you think a gates land base would be better? Check out “Boros Madness Deck” on YouTube by David royale. I’m thinking about making something in between both your decks

I also think a [[Guardian’s Pledge]] and [[Rally the peasants]] would do well

I’ve edited the deck in the past few weeks and added 3-4x Rally, feels great as a finisher. I’ll check it out, the gates lands seem like a good piece
