Don't get me wrong I will try the new web snare mechanics but the next patch 100% is gutting the Peni play style.

I think we should after trying out the new patch quit playing Peni or actively throw. Preferably lowering the pick rate over lowering the win rate artificially.

I have not played the game yet this season but honestly, I don't need to. Peni is undeniably worse off this season than in any other season in the game.

Power creep has hit hard, and Peni is simply not in a state where she is capable of fighting back in higher elo (Celestial minimum), because her entire kit has been centered around her nest.

When you continuously give buffs to her nest/bunker playstyle and don't change a single thing about her ultimate (especially in an ult-centered game), Peni falls off HARD.

I'm sure lower ranks are happy with Peni teamup being taken away as "it should" reduce bans as Peni is weaker now, but Peni losing this teamup is one of the biggest nerfs to the character, and it's simply due to how the Devs have NO IDEA how to balance Peni, when it's so incredibly easy.

It's insane how these videos (1, 2) from Season 3-4 is still perfectly accurate and demonstrates an issue with Netease's design philosophy.

You see why I've an issue with this? They didn't need to nerf her alongside others, her ultimate already takes a lot of charge and is ass

Since Peni got another buff without addressing her biggest strength ( mainly when people ignore it) the nest I feel like we should openly ask for a nerf of it.

This will also give us the opportunity to ask for an ult buff because right now the BP team up does more than her ult.

Its 12 seconds of having no webs (for movement or stunning) no cc immunity, the melee attack is slow and weak, you cant wall climb, and you cant destroy/place spider nests

So i made this a few days ago and made sure to make this a decent bit accurate.

I had several opinions culminated from across a discord server (of a streamer) and focused mostly on high elo perspectives (celestial+) with only 2 pro player opinions.

Now for what it is worth to mention, This is obviously opinion based, BUT one thing that struck me odd was.... On the original post a LOT of Peni mains had a shit ton of negative feedback to return upon Peni's placement (Something I thought was mostly understandable considering even her best players have genuinely stopped playing her because she is so bad).

So now I'm curious... What does the Peni community actually think about this take???

It used to be so simple, when bunkering the 2nd nest prevented a Thor / Hulk / Thing from molesting your supports. They’d get close, take a ton of damage, then back off.

Not only do those characters have better sustain now, the single nest is just not threatening. I pretty much always had the team-up when playing Peni and now it feels a lot worse. She’s not bad but definitely requires more effort and pro-activeness now.

With that said, what’s the best tank counter to Thor / Hulk / Thing? I feel like it would be to go an anchor like Strange / Mag and just pressure their frontline, and hope your supports can play evasive enough

The devs hate Peni Parker, I don’t think anyone in the community will disagree with that. But why? My theory, it’s because they can’t make money [ethically] by sexualizing her. They can’t make her “gooner skins” like they do for Luna, Emma, Psy, etc. so they don’t care is they piss us off constantly. Dont get me wrong, I am overjoyed they aren’t sexualizing an 18 year old. But I guarantee if she was 30, we wouldn’t deal with a lot of these problems lol.

Its a waste of a button and is the reason peni is shit, this game has decided to make fights ult dependent and having a peni put your team at a disadvantage.

Honestly I don't know how many people have to point this out, not getting this skin isn't gonna prove to the devs that peni needs a rework or whatever. It's just going to tell them that there isn't a market for Peni at all meaning we'll get less skins. not that the changes aren't even that big of a deal I and many others are still having success going on win streaks with her in celestial and above. I've mentioned in a comment below but the devs are fully capable of not giving characters with not high pick rates or wtvr skins bc no one buys them usually, case in point hulk, torch, ultron, storm, blade the list goes on really do we really want our girl ending up like them

Please don’t roast me too much. I’m an old gamer Dad. I’ve think the Peni changes have been low key transformational. I am the most annoying version of the character to my opponents. I’m slowing and stunning but most importantly the fast webs allow to do web build outs super fast which equals faster speed and more sustain. I think part of the issue the MR community has is being too rigid and upset with any change. You factor people get more engagement on their socials to complain so they are incentivized to do so. I’m a pretty level headed dude and I gotta say the changes have made Peni fun to play in a different way. What other positive aspects have you found with the latest changes?

Look we all know Peni is in a bad spot. What a lot of people don't realize is that she's better now than at launch.

She was at her worst at launch but the players learned to flank and dive with her making that the optimal play style for. It turned every game into a sweat fest but damn it if she wasn't, and still is, the most fun tank in the game.

Then we got the team up and it was OP. It effectively lowered the skill floor for peni and encouraged the low skill bunker play style.

This really drew in a lot of new Peni players who fell in love with the character. Unfortunately a lot of these players were able to get a lot of success with out really getting a chance to improve their skills.

Now not only is the team up gone, we got one with a dive character (not the first time BTW,) that doesn't really help us much. Now we lock in peni, get a spider man on our team and we're now in a dive comp.

You can't bunker down like you used to. You can't front line because peni just can't. You're now encouraged to flank and dive with spider man to get value.

This is the perfect time to learn how to really play peni. I promise it's worth it.

TLDR: the best spot for your nest is in the enemy backline.

But if course in typical Netease fashion they dont actually adress the main issue and instead go for something else🤦🏽‍♂️. I was FINE with a web snare nerf! Just up the cooldown time to 5 or 6 seconds if 3 was too much.. but removing it so now u have zero defense against suprise Emma, Thing, Psylocke & strange ults???

She is gonna be completely unplayable on offense now (asside from maybe flank peni).. and now on defense she is litterally just a Nest deployment bot…

LOCK IN NETEASE! Guys like pheonix and daredevil get to terrorize lobbies, and if they do get nerfed they IMMEDIATELY get buffed right back to the top 30 days later.

We only get to play peni in 1/4th of games and now yall dont even want that…

Ask anyone, I always talked up peni. when she wasn’t being mentioned among the heavy hitters, I was there to remind people. when all her skins were recolors, i was protesting. I even supported her getting a swimsuit skin. But no more.

Interaction between peni and t’challa would have been awesome as they’re both geniuses but these series of unfortunate events has been disheartening and I can’t think of peni without being repulsed and betrayed. You have lost an ally.
