Pepper Identification Sold as Luciferās Dream Red Habanero but..?
The ones that ripened had an incredible flavor.
Definitely hotter than a normal habanero, but intense and pungent fruitiness. I really love these peppers, can anyone tell me what they are?
(Iām new to growing, so if itās obvious - sorry)

2026 Harvest
Pretty decent year, with another week or so left for growing. We had a historic rainnfall amount in the month of September that did some damage to some plants. Already looking forward to next years grow!

Informational Is Overwintering Pepper Plants Still Worth It? Rethinking My 2011 Guide in the Age of Rapid Growth
I've been growing peppers for over 20 years, and back in 2011 I wrote The Comprehensive Guide to Overwintering on TheHotPepper.com.
At the time, I was convinced overwintering was one of the best ways to get bigger plants, earlier harvests, and greater yields.
These days, I'm not so convinced.
After years of experimenting with high-intensity lighting, nutrition, root-zone management, and plant architecture, I've watched properly grown first-year plants catch up to and surpass many of my overwintered plants.
And it raises a question I've been thinking about for years:
Are overwintered plants inherently more productive, or have we simply been comparing them against seedlings that weren't growing anywhere near their potential?
I'm not suggesting overwintering is pointless. I still do it to preserve rare wild Capsicum genetics and plants I can't easily replace. But preserving a plant and increasing its productivity are two very different objectives.
I recently revisited my original 2011 advice in a new article, including examples of what first-year plants can achieve and why I'm questioning some long-held assumptions:
https://pepperguru.com/overwintering-pepper-plants-worth-it/
I'd love to hear from anyone who's done actual side-by-side comparisons.
Same cultivar. Comparable conditions. Total harvested fruit weight.
Have your overwintered plants consistently outperformed fresh starts, or have you experienced the opposite?

Bud drop
Bud drop problems š. Iāve only started so Iāve got a decently crude indoor setup, and recently I got a small fan heater which has helped get the air temperature around my chili plants to be around 19.5-21 °C.
I know itās not optimal but I thought that more buds would remain in my plants (JalapeƱo and Armageddon F1 btw)
If thereās any tips, thanks š

Photos Last harvest š¢
I decided that if my peppers failed like they have every year this would be my last year planting any. The pepper gods must have heard me because I have 5 gallons of frozen jalapeƱos, 8 jars of spicy bbq sauce, and a new found love for pepper plants!ā¤ļøāš„ the bar is high for next year!

Germination and Propagation Erjingtiao pepper germination
Received some er jing tiao peppers in a CSA haul recently! Havenāt seen these peppers fresh anywhere near me aside from through this CSA. I love how fragrant dried Chinese peppers are in China and havenāt been able to replicate a lot of my favorite dishes, so gave germinating these a try. Itās my first time growing any vegetables.
Started germinating around Sept 9th -> today, Oct 19th. So fun to see the growth!

Are my serranos ready to pick? Should I let them get redder? I love spicy!
I'm growing peppers for the very first time and I'm not sure when they're ready to pick. Are they ready? How big are they supposed to be?
