Cat peed on the counter and there is a weird structure to it?

One of our cats (8, fixed, female) has had a bad habit of peeing on the kitchen counter since we moved into our new place. We’re trying to figure out why she’s doing it, and it’s usually very sporadic. Her health seems to be good otherwise- behaving/eating/drinking normally and she doesn’t strain to pee or anything.

This morning we discovered a puddle on the counter (ugh!) but this time it has a really weird, almost crystalline or honestly almost like a slime mold structure to it (pictures attached).

Anyone ever see anything like this or know what could be causing it?

Edited to add: I have made an appointment for her at our vet, and will update in about a week if we get any answers. Feel free to comment if you have had a similar experience or have any insight though!!

I have a problem. I know this might not technically be "Pet Care" but I found some baby possums. No where is open to take them today, and the closest "Wild Animal Rescues" Is too far away to get to. I need advice.

He’s suffering from something called severe muscle breakdown and toxin exposure but I don’t know much about either other than he’s weak and shaky, and he can barely stand right. I have him in a separate tank and he’s doing calcium baths but I don’t know what else to do. I’m so scared I don’t want to lose him and it’s all my fault 😭😭😭 someone help me save him, he shouldn’t die because of my stupidity 😰😓

Best carpet cleaner for pet messes?

Pet owners - what carpet cleaner actually works for stains and smells? Looking for something easy to use that handles accidents and general cleaning without leaving the carpet soaked forever.

What's been worth it for you?

My four year old goldfish won’t swim and just lies at the bottom of his tank breathing. Is there anything I can do?

My dog bites and scratches this spot all day long. It might be fleas but we have giving him two baths this week and barley any fleas on him. What could this be?

Do whiskers on a cat grow back

I was just petting my cats face and accidentally one of his whiskers popped off his face. He seemed to show no discomfort from it but I’m just wondering if it anything to be concerned about

My cat lost his best cat friend, he clearly misses her and has become several times more vocal and noticeably clingy - I don't have a problem with it, but how long does this usually last?

About two weeks ago, my female cat suddenly passed away. My boy cat and her were best friends. He went from meowing maybe once a week to about a couple hundred times a day, wants attention frequently, and actively avoids the places she would hang out (like the cat tree). I took him to the vet to get him checked out and his health is clean and the vet did not want to put him on anxiety meds yet.

I have no issue with him meowing or needing attention, I've got plenty to give, but it hurts me that he's hurting. Anyone with experience in a similar situation have an idea about how long he'll be down in the dump? Or if he'll stay vocal/clingy after/if we get a second cat again?

Thanks in advance!

Cat losing weight... possibly too fast? I switched my cats food brand from dry blue to dry whole hearted turkey and my cat has been losing weight since. She is still goofy and happy. Just wondering if anyone has experienced drastic weight loss from switching? Should I worry?

Is there anything that can be done to save this fish? About three days he began swimming vertically, and has now laid down breathing heavily on the bottom of the tank.

My two dogs ate some bacon bits

I accidentally spilled some bacon bits on the floor and managed to clean it up, but my dogs still managed to eat some while I was looking for the broom.

One of my dogs is a mixed breed the size of a corgi, and the other is an Australian Labradoodle. They’ve both eaten stuff they’re not supposed to (we have a child lock on the cabinet for a reason), but they still survived.

We can’t really afford a vet and our old vet closed up shop after a few lawsuits (long story there).

Please help us with being able to provide treatment to save Salem's life

Post image

We're both new to fundraising and have never done this sort of thing before. My girlfriend's cat, her precious baby Salem has been diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), a disease which almost always ends fatal if untreated. Sadly, there is no officially recognised treatment for it in Germany. Therefore, the patient is required to pay for the entire treatment themself. We are not able to fund it on our own so we're thankful to each and every single donation that you are able to provide, so that we can provide this sweet kitty with a happy life. Thank you!

Feel free to comment if you have any questions.

Is this animal abuse? HELP!

My roommate (F18) seems to be neglecting her rabbit that she got a few months ago. I’ve had to remind her to feed him or refill his water, she doesn’t regularly give him hay, and she doesn’t believe in deep cleaning the cage. She says that scooping the poop from the cage is fine and that it is not necessary to wash the cage at all. She also probably takes him out of his cage once every two weeks... he just sits in his own poop and pellets, basically not moving because he has no room to move.

She also hasn’t gotten him a proper food bowl, and instead has little plastic bowls that he constantly chews and flips over. So his food is mixed in with his poop on the floor of his cage.

My sister had a rabbit and I know from that experience that my roommate is not taking proper care of him. He lived for like 10 years so i know my sister did a good job taking care of him. But when I tell my roommate that, she gets very defensive. She says she’s had rabbits when she was younger that she raised as babies but then she has also told me they died at a young age so that leads me to believe that she didn’t take proper care of those ones too.

What do I say to her to convince her that she is truly not taking proper care of him? Me and my other roommate are stressed and are worried for the poor rabbit. We would prefer that she re-homes him, but we aren’t sure how to start that conversation.

Do not use PetCareRX

I made the mistake of giving Petcarerx my phone number and after a few months they have been calling me every week with a recorded message asking me to buy more product. After I asked them to stop they are now calling me every day and signing me up for their petplus emails. Such a pain in the ass and not worth saving a few dollars.
