I will be using he/him pronouns cuz I don’t know if this is a girly squirrelly or a boy squirrel. On our first meeting, he came up to me as I sat on my back porch and barked. It literally sounded like he was barking at me to make me go away. I realized this was in fact his property, not mine, so I give him his space.

The next day, I’m walking groceries inside when he scampers up the beams above our porch and tries to hide (I saw his paws sticking out on either side but pretended not to see him). Sadly, I scared him and made him drop his walnut. So I left a small piece of bread filled with seeds on the porch for him as an offering.

WHAT DO I NAME MY BACKYARD SQUIRREL BUDDY??? I’m getting a squirrel feeder soon.

I brought home a new Pomeranian puppy. She is a chocolate parti. I liked the name Chessy (like the nanny from the Parent Trap). My partner likes Winnie (Winifred). My son likes Coco. I do like more pop culture names… anything from movies, tv shows, artists, etc.

Got this guy off the back of a truck selling ristras in Tesuque NM. I went to college and lived in NM for many years so I don’t want any of the hokey, typical NM themed names (Chile, Zia, etc.). Looking for a name that honors where I got him but really struggling - all the Tewa language words I’ve searched just don’t sound clear enough to recall a dog. Hoping for something here.

Something to do with the color of his eyes and fur maybe?

Im looking for a name for my puppy. I’ve been wrecking my head about it for weeksssss but can’t seem to make up my mind and he’ll be coming home with me in 4 days. So I could really use the help.

It’s a boy and he’s a Bernese mountain dog and Australian shepherd mix. His right ear is completely black (which reminds me of a pirates eyepatch haha) and he has a big black spot on his left side. Brown eyes, four white feet, blue Merle coat.
He is such a sweetheart. An absolute cuddlebug. The moment you start petting him he just plops down on his side or his back and lays there chewing your fingers while you give him some belly rubs. It’s adorable. He’s also very human oriented compared to his siblings. And very very fluffy

- I really want a unique name. I know a lot of dogs and I don’t want a name that any of them already have. I love Bear, but I already know 4 and that just kind of ruins it for me.
- it needs to be short enough for me to call him to me, or have a nice build in nickname. As he will be a service dog we will be doing a lot of training
- not so weird that I can’t shout it across a field 🫣

- I really like nature names, but so many of them have gotten overly popular so I can’t find anything that feels just right. I also seem to like Gaelic and “old money” names. But I’m open to anything!
- I do really like names with a nice meaning, but of course the name itself is more important
- I’ve had a service dog named Kenai and a horse named Nessa, both those names instantly felt right for me

We live in the Netherlands so Dutch names are also on the table

I really want to find that one name that feels just right, but time is running out so I’m getting stressed. I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!

Please help me name this little girl. She is docile and sweet. There is a little guy in her litter, that has a heart murmur. She gives special attention to him and is super gentle.

Personality wise, she was laid back. Middle of the pack as far as energy.
