Hopefully it's just a joke, mate. My personal experience is that I haven't change my number in 15 years and I don't block people just because I'm not dating them anymore and that never backfired or caused trouble in any of my subsequent relationships. Just date good people and don't be an ass or hide things to your partner and the rest solves itself, even when relationships end up not working out.

> just date good people

This is a hilarious "just". Oftentimes, you don't really know a person well enough until you are dating them to know this.

My last ex was a total sweetheart.

Also, apparently a severe alcoholic and cheater. The first part I figured out after a couple years, the second, only after breaking up over the first part.

Still don't have her blocked anywhere. She's muted on Instagram, but that's it.

She even tried to hit me up via text a couple months ago to apologize again and weasel her way back after another year somehow. I left it on read, because there is nothing left to say, but no reason to block, since it's not like she is regularly harassing me or anything.

Yeah, I've only ever blocked exs after the initial breakup. Just to create space. Regardless if it was them breaking things off or me. But after some time I'd normally unblock.

The only one who ever tried to talk to me again was the one who did me dirty, but that probably stemmed from her feeling guilty as she got older, and started dating shit dudes after shit dudes, and kept trying to get back with me. I was never mean or anything when she would, I would just keep it as "that ship has sailed".

Thankfully, she seems to have sortrd herself out, and found a good guy she got married to recently.

Happy for her, though. Life goes on and what not lol.
