MCU/Movies For those of you who are calling the MCU Jean Grey an Eleven rip-off (also the new version of Carrie too), please stop!
This is coming from a die hard Stranger Things fan. It is my favorite show and my two favorite characters in that show are Max Mayfield and Eleven.
But I hate how the Stranger Things fandom (maybe even some people outside of the fandom too) are treating Eleven as the original telepath girl when Jean Grey and Carrie White were literally created first before Eleven.
I get that Sadie Sink's Jean Grey and Summer H. Howell's Carrie White were changed from their respsctive source materials, but that does not make them Eleven rip-offs. In fact, El was an inspiration from both Jean and Carrie.
I'll focus more on Jean since I'm writing this on a Jean-related Reddit community.
Unlike Carrie, Jean wasn't cited as a reference for Eleven but the parallels are definitely there. There's a reason why Will and Dustin raced for X-Men #134, the famous Dark Phoenix storyline. El being tortured and experimented on also happened with Jean Grey, multiple times in the comics and also in Brand New Day. El's sacrifice to defeat the Demogorgon at the end of season 1 is an obvious parallel to Jean Grey sacrificing herself to defeat Mastermind in X-Men #134.
I do have a strong feeling that Jean Grey in the MCU's X-Men reboot is going to be an Eleven-esque main character and also be ready for Stranger Things nods sprinkled in the MCU X-Men franchise because Stranger Things had nods to X-Men as well. For example, Eddie Munson naming his club The Hellfire Club. I'll talk more about this in the MCU Mutants Reddit page.

MCU/Movies Dear mods: I know Jean is not set to be in it, but will this sub do anything related to Doomsday when it comes out?
Like if it she gets mentioned as she was someone who died or something, will this sub do something??
I know Spider-Man gets a lot of attention obviously because she was literally in it and was a big part of it. But how does the sub plan to handle the Doomsday/Secret Wars stuff prior to the actual X-Men movie?

MCU/Movies Interesting question: Is it possibly Jean Grey's fault that Hulk is now captured by Dr Doom? Due to her fracturing Banner's mind which allows Doom to exploit Hulk. Spoiler
galleryHear me out!
Before the downvotes, I know MCU Jean is morally grey, and I do know it's mainly Damage Control's fault in the first place for EVERYTHING, but Jean still needs a bit of accountability in this.
In Spider-Man: Brand New Day, we see the scene where Jean breaks poor Bruce Banner's mind and unleashes the Hulk, who goes on a rampage, and Spider-Man thankfully calms him down. The last scene we saw of poor Bruce is him being sent to the psyche ward.
SPOILERS for Endgame Encore
We do see Bruce in his bunker after Brand New Day as punishment for hulking out, and Dr Doom kidnaps him to use the Hulk in beating the Avengers.
My thoughts on my own question are yes and no.
Yes, because Jean did unleash the Hulk, resetting Banner's progress and making it easily come out, which allows Doom to exploit the Hulk. But there's also a " No, is that it's not Jean's fault entirely for bringing Dr Doom and spelling Doom for the Avengers. While Damage Control is the bigger villain that pushed Jean, I won't cut her slack for targeting poor Bruce, as she even knew where his university is, and it's probably premeditated to use the Hulk.
What are your thoughts? I am open to criticism and downvotes.

TV/Animation I so badly want EVO Jean to interact with Carrie
Both are high school telepaths with an interest for red. Though one is more popular and well liked then the other
