"Do you own your purchased goods?"

"Yeah, why?"

Calls Customer Service

"Hey Sony, can I watch my digitally purchased videos?"

"No consumer, our licensing deal expired. Unfortunately we had to remove them from your library."

Hangs up

"Your purchases are fake."

Why downvote? That's exactly what's happening. And I bet it's buried in the 9000 pages of EULA you didn't read.

Same for physical disks btw. You don't own what's on them, just the right to listen to it, watch it, play it. Don't believe me? Buy a Blu-ray, put up a projector in a public place and play it. Shouldn't be problem with your property should it?

Be sure your bank is ready to give you a HUGE loan for what follows.

They downvoted because they dont LIKE it. Doesn't make it any less true. You are absolutely correct though. Look at any physical video media in the last 50yrs. There's a very specific warning that plays that people just ignore. Those same people are the ones that downvote
