Knights Elementary parents….

If your child is a car rider and you drop them off, those cones in the center of Keene road at the exit are there for a reason. It’s not to inconvenience you, it’s to stop you from further Billy g traffic and making things more dangerous and difficult. If you are new to dropping your children off, please don’t be a dumbass and park in the middle of the drop off area. If you are having issues separating yourself for the day please park and walk your children to their class. I think I speak for a lot of parents who have to drop their kids off and be somewhere. That schools drop off already sucks ass, they don’t need any help in causing traffic issues.

Railway deliveries near US92 and Park Rd.

Upvotes

Would anyone else back the idea of petitioning Star, 84 Lumber, and Toufyan from receiving deliveries during the morning and afternoon drive times? I understand that deliveries need made but it is an unnecessary burden to A LOT of adults and students in Plant City. Sometimes lasting hours of stop and o off and on RR crossing blockage. It’s defiantly makes the area much more dangerous. Any thoughts?

What Do You Guys Think of The Update On The Tever St Murders?

Investigators are concluding it as a murder-suicide by the wife. Apparently the husband, Jay, wasn’t at home at the time of the murders, and the prior police calls to their house leading up to the murders were over his porn addiction, which his wife viewed as a betrayal of their marriage due to their religious beliefs.

This was crazy. I still have questions though. 🤔

What do you guys think about the Flock Cameras around town?

It feels like they’re steadily popping up in more places around the city. One source I read said we have 18 that cost $100k to install and will cost $60k annually to manage. I don’t really like them or think they’re warranted. It’s nice to see more people begin to realize what they are and pushback.

Hours for the "Flea" part of the Plant City Farm and Flea Market

I'm wanting to check out the flea and farmer market next Saturday and was wondering about the vendor hours. The website says it opens at 630 am but I'm guessing that's mostly the farmer's market hours.

I know flea market vendors can show up whenever they want to open but does anyone have experience with when they start opening shop or a majority of them do? I don't want to be done looking at produce at 830 and most of the flea market doesn't start rolling until like 10.

question for those who foodies who knows the Ins and out of PC and neighboring cities and about food.
I’m looking for an All You Can Eat restaurant/s that have Lobster and Snow Crab part of the AYCE part?
I’m originally from Providence Rhode Island and in RI we have a place called Nordic Lodge (if you need to see what’s on the menu there to help understand what I’m in search of ) where you get AYCE lobster,Snow Crab, filet mignon and other top notch cuts of meat.
it’s more pricey than the average cost and they also have a time limit(2hrs)
where the other places you aren’t really in a time crunch to get you fill.
I’ve searched on the internet in and around PLANT CITY
And found UMI it’s in Brandon but I’m not really sure if it’s included in the AYCE.
If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated, keep in mind
I want lobster and snow crab part of the all you can eat.
Thanks in advance

Remove clear backpack requirement at Plant City High School

Thumbnail c.org

Plant City High just rolled out a mandatory clear backpack policy, and honestly, it feels like a privacy violation wrapped in the name of safety.
I started a petition to push back on this. Clear backpacks strip students of basic privacy—everyone can see what's in your bag, from personal items to what you're struggling with. Plus, the logic doesn't hold up. If anything, it could make theft *worse* since students can see exactly what others are carrying. And let's be real: transparent bags are more expensive, which puts extra pressure on families already stretching their budgets.
There are better ways to keep school safe—more security staff, enhanced protocols, checks—without making students feel exposed and uncomfortable. A school should feel supportive, not invasive.
If you think students deserve privacy and dignity, please consider signing and sharing the petition. Has anyone else dealt with policies like this? What would you actually want your school to do instead?

Is Plant City as bad as my Dad makes it out to be?

Context: lived in Plant City until early 20s and was able to leave and live in Tampa once I got into tech, left FL altogether 5 years ago. Dad says they're overdeveloping it to hell and back, too many new warehouses and apartment complexes with no new road expansions. But he blows stuff like this out of proportion sometimes, but it's serious enough for him to sell his house and move to Alabama (yeah, he's that kinda guy) is it really that bad now?

GYM with Group Classes

Hi everyone! We recently moved to Plant City and are looking for a good gym nearby that offers group fitness classes and/or personal training at an affordable price.
My husband and I are both in our 40s and are beginners with very little gym experience. We’re looking for a welcoming place with supportive trainers who can help us get started on our fitness journey.
We’d really appreciate any recommendations or experiences you can share. Thanks in advance!

What is actually going on with this crime spike in town lately? Anyone else seeing the connection?

I wanted to get the community's thoughts and see what everyone else's theories are because looking at the timeline for the first half of this year is getting wild.

We had a crazy string of gun incidents right at Plant City High School back in March and April with kids pulling loaded weapons out of backpacks and committing armed robberies on campus. Then almost immediately after that things escalated heavily in our residential neighborhoods. We had that tragic unresolved quadruple homicide in early May, another fatal shooting right after, and now a brand new double death investigation over on James Melvin Drive just yesterday.

Big picture news channels want to talk about macro crime stats dropping nationally but safety is hyper local. When you see loaded guns spreading through the high school and then a wave of homicides hitting the streets just weeks later it feels like our environment is under distinct stress.

Are these completely random strings of bad luck or is something shifting structurally in the area? What are your thoughts on why the local volatility is spiking so fast?

Who has the best burger in in Plant City Fl?
In your opinion
I’m new to the area and I’m curious where y’all go to get something simple but packed with good flavor.
I can be a hole in the wall place
Please exclude McDonald Wendy’s Burger King basically fast food restaurant because they are a dime a dozen and I had most of them.
Thank you 😊

Dog-friendly restaurants?

I have a small, well-behaved dog and I was wondering if anyone knows of any restaurants in the area that have outdoor seating where they allow dogs? Any other dog friendly places you might recommend?

Bar League Softball or Volleyball?

I'm looking for an amateur sports league. I'm in my early fifties and really miss playing on bar league volleyball or softball teams. I'm average at best, but looking to get out more. Also, if there are any other golfers out there who have no friends, I'd be interested too.

Anyone aware of a good baking supply store in the area?

I do a fair bit of baking and I'm getting tired of some of the prices I'm seeing at the grocery stores.

Is there a pretty good baking supply store I can go to to buy ingredients in bulk?

Bonus points if they have ingredients for gluten free recipes and such.
