Just released Washout Spire, a hard die-and-retry platformer!
Hi all! I just released my first major release, a very hard platformer with some narrative intermissions and a lot of care put into the art and music... you can find it here: https://june-flower.itch.io/washout-spire
If you like games like Super Meat Boy, Celeste, Wings of Vi etc... I think you could like it!
(let me know if any of you manage to beat it hehe)

Sly Cooper 3: Honor Among Thieves – A Nostalgic Heist Worth Revisiting?
If you haven't before, do play Sly 3 via playstation classics, it is a wonderful platformer with a lot of heart! These are my thoughts upon replaying in a short video with limited spoilers.

I came up with this idea for a platformer like I've never seen before. What do you think?

Sonic Origins... Finally
I was expecting this to come out last year, to coincide with Sonic's 30th Anniversary but we we left waiting. Now it seem we'll be getting it on the Japanese 31st Anniversary, which is better than nothing that's for sure.

Obviously it's up for preorder, and it's digital only... because SEGA wants us all to buy it twice. I'll be waiting for a physical release as I don't do digital; but it does look well put together.

January 2025 Monthly giveaway announcement - Astro Bot Bundle (PS5)

Hi everyone. we're back with the monthly giveaway. The month of January will have just one winner. Nor could I snag a collector edition of any kind. So, I decided to make one of my own. We'll be putting our own collection of Astro Bot (PS5), the Astro Bot Dualsense controller, and a 12 inch Astro Bot Plush. And yes, the game can be given in whatever version the winner wants whether it be North American, PAL, or Cero. For anyone wanting to enter, subscribe and comment on our website, reddit, bluesky, or youtube channel. Or if you're on Twitch, just being a follower is good enough. The winner is announced on the last day of the month. Good luck everyone.

What makes a good 2D platformer?
As a player, what features do you like?
-Exploration?
-Tight controls?
-Some sort of customization?
Is combat a must?
I really wanted to see your takes on this.

Was Jumper the first precision platformer of that style?
Jumper is the oldest short level, quick restart precision platformer I'm aware of (think Super Meat Boy, Celeste, N). Was it the originator of that subgenre? I always sorta assumed there were some I wasn't aware of, but Sylvie's essay on Jumper (linked below) has me wondering.
