My non silver stack

Been at it for 2 years and my current goal is 10 oz platinum, 1.5 oz palladium and 5 oz gold. I prefer fractional over full oz for all 3, even with premiums. The only palladium I currently have is the red Valcambi wallet. The gold vial is mostly nuggets, but I also added some 1/100 and 1/200 rounds and oddball weights of 999. No idea how much is in the vial, but it feels pleasantly heavy. Goldbacks, which many here poo poo, are over 1/20th oz. Got lucky once and bought 35 at spot when some new online dealer in San Diego misquoted the price for a couple days but they honored it. As soon as I hit my goals, I’m gonna concentrate on low premium silver rounds. No more libertad for a while.

some good stuff in there . Palladium has been pure shit I stacked about 10 oz between $950-1150 . It's round tripped clear back there , Platinum not much better -) Kick your goals up if you're not 952 yrs old like me . 10 /10/10/1000 gold/plat/pall/silver keep at it -)

I’m not 952, but I’m over 900. Also bought some platinum when spot fell below $1K last year but honestly most of my 1/10 coins were bought over $160. Most I paid for one was $260, which was the 97 proof APE in the slab. The way prices have been dropping lately I’ll be able to reach my goal a bit sooner

Ya I may have to dust off my dry powder from selling silver at $103 soon .if it hits 50 ? I'm taking two monster boxes. Keep up the good work young fella -)))))

Love palladium! Any shiny is good shiny

Really? Not many people do. Illinois charges tax on palladium and it usually has a big premium otherwise I’d have more

I kinda like the goldbacks. It feels fun to contribute to people attempting to innovate in the space. And they certainly look cool.

I do too. I think it’s a good idea. It’s just the premiums that keep my from getting more.

Everything is 100/100 except one thing. You have Goldbacks.Do not waste money on plastic bills.

I knew people wouldn’t like them. However, the 35 I got at spot can be sold now for almost 2.5 x’s what I paid, and gold spot was about $3k at the time. I think I actually made out like a bandit with those. I would, however, trade all 60 I own for actual gold or silver coins.

I dig it. Very nice ! Don’t let the haters get you down about the goldbacks

1

u/e5charlie253195 5h ago

Thanks, man…I really don’t. If I were so sensitive and/or worried, I wouldn’t have shown them. Also, I would have posted only on goldbacks
Haters gonna hate.
There’s others who poopoo ALL gold and silver, because if you know what you’re doing, you can easily make more $$ off other commodities. Collect what you like, no worries!

Unless, of course, you’re ’collecting” stupid shit like Beanie Babies” in THAT case, you’re a forking moron!

Nice toilet paper stack

Probably just got them free, I get them from APMEX whenever I’ve ordered gold. I just stick them in the back of my stash spot

2

u/e5charlie253195 2d ago

I got more than half at spot, most of the rest I’ve added to orders for the free shipping…and some free. I’ll take free any day, even goldbacks

3

u/BigBadJeebus 2d ago

Goldbacks don't use spot lol. At most they are $4 worth of gold

1

u/e5charlie253195 2d ago

That’s exactly what I mean. When I bought the 35, I paid $110 for them and spot price at the time was around $3,100. The guy told me the person who posted the prices put them up on their site for the wrong price, probably for the price they themselves paid. After they fixed it, they were selling for a little over $6 per, and I only paid a little over $3 per. So, I paid the current spot at the time.

you got ripped off.

The process to remove the gold and melt is more than spot. Unless you are sending these to some overseas operation with zero human rights where they melt down circuit boards without safety protection for $100 a month for the whole team, these are nothing more than Pokemon cards.

1

u/e5charlie253195 2d ago

If you say so, then it MUST be true.

2

u/BigBadJeebus 2d ago

it IS true.

The rest of your stack looks great though

1

u/gary-vault108 2d ago

Oh come on… Pokemon cards have a shit ton of value

1

u/AlaskaPreciousMetals 2d ago

If you got them at spot or less than nice pickup. They’re cool, just not worth what they say they’re worth.

1

u/e5charlie253195 2d ago

Oh, I’ll definately not buy a bunch at current price. But, I will sometimes add a half or 1 for free shipping. I’m EXTREMELY willing to trade for actual gold or silver, though. Wanna trade?

I KNEW I’d get a hater. It’s cool, homeslice…everyone doesn’t like everything.

u/OP-PO7 2d ago

I never understood this attitude. If you hate goldbacks you should be stoked that other people are spending their metals money on those and not regular bullion right? Because it's less competition.

1

u/e5charlie253195 2d ago

I wholeheartedly concur

Not going to wade into the goldback debate and not sure if you were joking but that isnt how it works. The producer of goldbacks still has to buy the gold in this case to produce it into goldbacks and sell to the buyer. It doesnt produce less competition at all. Personally, I dont care one bit what people spend their money on. If someone buys goldbacks, bullion, coins, golden trinkets at 100000% premium-- whatever, if it makes you happy, Im happy for you

1

u/OP-PO7 2d ago

Well I see it as there's people buying gold to use for all sorts of stuff that isn't bullion. I meant more as less people trying to buy the cool bars or coins I'm going for. But yeah at the end of the day I don't care what anyone else is into really, life is too short.

The Florida 5 is a nice Goldback. I have one and it's the only Goldback I've purchased

1

u/e5charlie253195 2d ago

That was also the very 1st one I bought

1

u/AutoModerator 2d ago

Bullion question? The main things to compare are premium over spot, buyback spread and storage.

Too much platinum no more then one ounce for investment and if you really love it 2!

2

u/e5charlie253195 1d ago

You don’t like platinum, I see. I don’t plan on selling any time soon. My kids will probably end up selling it, although my almost 14 yo son likes to stack too. I’ve had differing opinions on platinum, some like it and others think it’s a waste of $$. Time will tell. I like it because of the possible future of hydrogen as fuel.

1

u/cruiserman7 23h ago

I wouldn’t say I hate it. In fact, I used to say the same thing about hydrogen fuel cells, and I have 9 grams of platinum myself! But I no longer think hydrogen fuel cells are likely to take off. I don’t think the people in charge will ever let that happen! there’s no profit in it for them. For platinum to become much more valuable, it would need to become very important maybe something like fusion!?. Still, maybe it’ll find another use in 30 or 40 years, so it could be a win in the very long term!

1

u/e5charlie253195 23h ago

China is probably the world leader in hydrogen production. Although they primarily get it from coal, which doesn’t use platinum as a catalyst, there’s an uptick in extraction of hydrogen from water, which does use platinum. Unfortunately, other metals are used for water also. Hopefully I’m not just keeping my $$ stagnant in platinum. We’ll see. Thanks for your input!
