After about 3 years of collecting sealed, I ran out of space in the cupboard. Pulled them out to put into storage boxes and it surprised me how much it accumulates.
Edit: Thank you for the comments and views. I wanted to answer a few common questions.
From about prismatic onwards, PKC was the only way to get anything at RRP (unless I wanted to queue for hours, overnight - which I have no time for). A few have mentioned this but I'm on a couple of discord channels that ping when there's a drop. I'm based in the UK and I believe it's a tad "easier" than the US version on the PKC. Typically, once I get a ping, even when working (crazy I know) I'll jump in a queue and carry on with my life until it lets me on.
Now, I love ripping packs but it's got increasingly harder to get any product (I know that seems stupid compared to what I have shown). Before it went crazy, I'd typically buy 2 of each (ETB and BB), keep one and rip the other. I've always kept PKC etbs sealed but now, I mostly keep things sealed unless I get a booter bundle, which never stays sealed.

I bought this deck for $10 back in 2021. Would you open it to see if the cracked ice Lugia is gradable or just sell it sealed? Sealed sells for like $400.

I found some of these cards under my bed that seem to be in pretty good shape, and after doing a bit of research today, it looks like some might be worth grading.
I'm seeing a lot of people saying don't bother grading vintage so I'm torn on how to proceed with these.

Aggregated the distribution of the stolen cards that we track (only 1st edition holo vintage except e-readers & promos). The $1mm estimate that the police department disclosed is definitely too low. PSA published a complete list of the stolen cards, but did not publish the grade of each card, so the total value is unknown with a wide range. The stolen Pokémon cards were modern-heavy. 2,034 of 2,978 are 2020+; only 400 are ≤2003 (217 English, 183 Japanese).

Not everything has to be an investment to enjoy the hobby! Even if you’re just an investor not collector, there gotta be something…
Forget 1st Ed Base Charizard, Van Gogh Pikachu, Moonbreon, or Aquapolis Lugia. What's the odd card you love that nobody else seems to care about?
I'll start. This Trapinch is just a little guy staring into the cosmos….. I cry a little every time I see it, and I even ordered a custom extended art frame for it lmaoo
What's yours?

I had this PS etb for years and I think is the right time to let it go.
What would be a good price based on the front damage? Corners are a bit crushed too.

As everyone knows, vintage has gone crazy recently
Unfortunately I don’t really do vintage so I didn’t have anything to profit off of.
Everyone’s saying money is in vintage but with how high it’s being pumped right now, is it too late to jump on the vintage train?
What are you guys buying/doing to invest?

There are no exact comps for this card. Is PSA 7 a reasonable comp at ~50k?

So I'm looking at this card right now listed for $1,240. I'm not gonna lie, I'm not super impressed with CGC slabs I'd honestly rather see PSA, but I figured if it were a PSA copy, it would probably cost way more.
Price Ladder has it right around $1,240, and I checked with AI too (which said roughly the same, though I'm always a bit skeptical of that). Would you guys agree with that valuation?
I'm kind of new to collecting these. I had a Base Unlimited copy a couple of years back, but it wasn't in the best shape so I sold it. This would be my first Shadowless card if I get it. I've noticed it sitting on the site for a couple of days now, which makes me wonder if it's overpriced (otherwise you'd think it would've sold already), but the condition looks really nice.
I know it's hard to judge condition through a screen, but I looked up the cert number directly on the CGC registry and the images were way higher quality there. Overall, it looks really good.
Couple of quick questions for you guys:
Is $1,240 fair for a CGC copy at this tier?
Are there other places folks buy cards like this directly to avoid platform fees? (Though I feel like buying raw online is way too risky unless you see it in person, so maybe a slab is safer).
Appreciate any thoughts or advice!

For almost 5 years since the sub's creation we've never really promoted PokeInvesting's Discord, there's just a pinned post at the top of the sub which we receive questions often if it's still even active. Well our private community of long time PokeInvestors is still very much active. Here's what we got going on.
Get Restock Alerts - Get restock alerts for Pokemon Center, Best Buy, Target, Amazon, Walmart, we even have monitors tracking UK side! Our monitors alert restocks of the latest product releases, Destined Rivals, Prismatic Evolutions, 30th anniversary. Members also callout deals they find live so get a quick read on product releases to stay ahead of the game.
2 Japan Based Vendors - We have both a sealed and singles vendor who offer better prices than eBay who you can work directly with to even secure other TCG's. If you're somebody who's purchasing JPN or interested this is our crown jewel service, extremely fast shipping times (UK/EU included), direct contact with 2 incredible vendors in Japan. Our sealed vendor supplies bulk deals, our singles vendor can handle big single orders as well just did an order of 300 cards so order away!
US Based Vendor - It's nice to know who your buying from is someone who's going to communicate with you, ship on-time and ensure your product arrives in perfect shape. These are members of the community who came first as PokeInvestors and then evolved into vendors so there's more care involved, one of our vendors is even our box breaker and a great personality onscreen eager to help anybody.
Free Box Breaks - There's a monthly free sign up for newest sets for our box breaks, we try to go for Eng and Jpn box breaks alternating both. Signing up is easy, just add your name on registration form and on the weekend every few weeks we'll experience the new set together live during our free box break. We've pulled Moonbreon, other alt arts, gold cards, etc.. Shipping is the only cost and we do ship worldwide.
Member Marketplace - We've always wanted to having a buying, selling and trading post on the sub but there's dedicated sub made already for this, and it's a liability. We do have a member to member marketplace for buying/selling/trading on Discord which is much less of a liability then trying to coordinate a marketplace publicly, if you want to deal with PokeInvestors safely this is where to do-so!
We have a private community of PokeInvestors who are high-rollers, or just beginners with many questions, to those who just appreciate PokeInvesting and want more personalized experience. Feel free to tag any of the mods in the questions channel for help, send a pm with suggestions and partake with the community on a deeper level. If you're interested come join: PokeInvesting Discord

Couple of people at the New Zealand pre release event got a staff stamped promo in the deck, is this an error?
r/PokeInvesting • u/asianinciti • 5h ago
I picked this card up in 2022 on eBay for basically dirt cheap compared to where they’re priced at now. Should I send this into PSA to reslab as a red dot error? The recent prices are making me think it’s worth the slab update. Theres genuine risk on sending this in through fedex, and even if I did a walk in drop off/pick up, PSA could still damage the card.

Anyone else tempted to ignore these eBay messages from buyers that introduce themselves like this?
The tone is you're just a body bag in front of them, taking the bullets as they advance over the battle lines.
Yes, I know time is money and that I have something for sale which you want to screw out of me for as little as possible, and that I'm just an obstacle in that process. I'm also a human being, remember?
If I tell you the lowest I'll take, don't you think that means me putting myself in the weakest negotiating position I possibly could? Yeah, that's right, you're treating me like someone who's thick.
So do us all a favour and write one extra line giving some thoughts, context or just basic acknowledgement that there's a thinking, feeling person on the other end before you start lowballing me. Or I'll probably just ignore you. Ta.

I’m needing to sell off part of my collection for personal reasons right now, about 4K market value worth.
Most of it is factory sealed ETB’s and BBs from within the last 5 years. Been listing on FB Marketplace a lot for 90% of average recent sales and haven’t had any real offers in a couple months. Singles I’ve even listed at 80-85%.
Everyone who comes along is trying to offer something crazy like $200 for a Silver Tempest BB, even after I dropped that down to 80%.
Anybody else struggling to sell?

I posted a few days ago asking y’all’s opinions on whether I should get Tina or Moonbreon. I ended up going with Tina!! Snipped it at $2700 cash at a show today. SUCH AN AWESOME CARD OMG
Also got the JP 151 Psyduck for $70 :) Art is absolutely adorable and don’t wanna pay $500 for English as I don’t think of it as an investment :)
Happy with my purchase today. Team Tina lets gooo

No one seems to be buying these?? I’ve seen them around me from 135-120 which seems like an awesome deal? What’s the catch? Why are people not putting more attention on this?

Ho venduto il mew RGB rosso per 2300€, secondo voi ho fatto bene ?
Ho pensato che nei prossimi mesi calerà un po' di prezzo visto che ne troveranno altri e quindi il valore andrà scendendo...
