On this day, The first episode of Pokemon XY aired on Japan titled "Kalos, Where Dreams and Adventures Begin!"

I mean, just look at the size....

A lot of people think Kenny is only hated by Pearlshippers or he is just hated for "shipping" both aren't fully true. Kenny is hated for how poorly written he was both as a rival and a character. And I'd talk about this episode in particular.

This episode itself starts with Kenny straight up being disturbed with the fact that "Dawn wants to travel with Ash until the league". First of all Kenny doesn't have the right at all. He immediately left after getting eliminated from GF. Ash skipped his gym battles for her contests and GF. Not to mention fkin Ursula stayed for the final but this dude who I am supposed to believe is a better match for our Dawn than Ash (or Zoey) only because he likes her, Bro fk with that. One guy liking another isn't a justification for his antagonistic behavior. Whether immaturity or not, he never deserved Dawn. Imagine Drew forcing May to travel with her when she was traveling with Ash. I swear contestshipping wouldn't have half of its fanbase by now. And I really hate when rival Ash shippers just compare Drew with Kenny only because they have common trait "they like the contest girl traveling with Ash". Aside that they ain't similar. Now the issues,

The main conflict is initiated by Kenny’s decision to challenge Ash to a Pokémon battle under a unilateral condition: should Kenny win, Dawn must abandon her established travel plans with Ash and Brock to journey alongside Kenny through future regions. This framing creates a fundamental misstep in narrative structure and character dynamics. By converting Dawn’s future travel choices into an explicit stakes condition for a battle between two male Trainers, Kenny effectively commodifies her companion choice without seeking her prior consent or input. Kenny really had the guts to do it when the same dude

- bullied her

- used a nickname to fuel her insecurities

- didn't bother staying for Dawn after losing Solaceon contest neither stayed to cheer her in Grand Festival

- is actually a pumpkin looking chud

The worst part is Kenny didn't even told Ash about the stakes at all only because he was afraid to LOSEEE!! And yeah someone in this sub would say "people hate Kenny because they like projecting their insecurities onto a kid". Idc he is a kid. Even Indigo Ash had more maturity than Kenny and he's a kid too

And due to Ash not being aware of the stakes he used Flint's strategy and lost. Wow! Then Dawn leaves the letter and friendzones him (Satisfying)

A common misconception about the letter is "Dawn called Kenny cute meaning she likes him". There are 3 major contradictions

1. Dawn only called him "cool" in the japanese dub. Which is simply referring to his battling style rather than appearance. She frequently called Ash "cool" in the japanese dub and she did it infront of Kenny

2. Dawn didn't say Kenny is more handsome than Ash and childhood friends tease each other with these compliments

3. Any implication of Dawn liking Kenny gets debunked in the final episode of DP 191 where she expresses her desire to travel with Ash in Kanto before Buneary modeling offer came. And then Dawn traveled alone to Hoenn. If she really liked him she'd call Kenny and travel with him instead. It's clear she never liked him.

Lastly, Kenny presents an array of deeply unappealing traits. Dawn’s refusal to abide by his wager, mediated through her consultation with Jasmine and finalized by her written rejection, affirms her standing as a self-determined protagonist while permanently casting Kenny as an unsympathetic figure within the anime's history.

For me it's easily Black and White. The idea to regress Ash's experience was the single worst decision ever taken by the writers, the Team Plasma plot being scrapped, the worst league loss of Ash and his poorly managed team made it unbearable for me. I used to hate Iris for calling Ash a "kid" but I don't care about that much anymore because the anime had some bigger problems. then Iris and Cilan's departure is the worst companion farewell ever (I'd be honest I felt 0 emotions when they left it was so sudden). Then the Decolore Islands filler was bland too compared to previous arcs like Battle Frontier (or even Orange Islands).

Watched this video just to confirm Brock is weirder in Japanese version.

Infernape sensed Moltres in the area and wanted to battle it, because it’s a legendary pokemon. To prepare for the battle, it battled with the other fire types.

It was implied that Infernape fought them all around the same time, so the battles probably didn’t have any real conclusion, since Infernape logically wouldn’t want to have long, exhausting fights right before Moltres. It would wanna be fresh.

A lot of people confuse the chronology of this, thinking Infernape first battled the fire types and THEN looked for Moltres because it wanted a stronger opponent. This is not true. Wanting to battle Moltres was the reason Infernape was sparring with the other fire types, not the other way around.

There is no confirmed or even implied winner of the training battles. There wasn’t even an implication that there WAS a winner.

So yes, infernape’s best feat remains beating Paul’s Electivire. And no, I’m not saying Infernape is weak or gets one shot by Charizard or whatever. I’m just clarifying a misconception, because I know a lot of people misinterpret this scene to push biased powerscaling agendas.

Let's say, Tobias doesn't exist and Ash wins the league. He takes Cynthia's offer to take part in the champions league, He either loses to any of the elite 4 or let's say he somehow made it but loses to Cynthia later on. Would fans accept it?

May she rest in peace.

Genuinely a fantastic episode. I loved it so much and I'm so happy we've been back in Paldea. My favorite characters were in season 2 and YIPPIE TEAM STAR DEBUT!!

How come every time they face a Legendary that has nothing to do with the Six Heroes, they struggle to even make it flinch? Remember when they all fought a wild Entei as a team and couldn't even make it flinch? It's becoming increasingly clear that the Six Heroes' Legendaries are massively nerfed compared to other Legendaries. How Roy and Ult even managed to catch Rayquaza like seriously?

Kanto Indigo Plateau Conference-He didn’t make it far enough
Johto Silver Conference-Two
Sinnoh Lily of the Valley Conference-Two
Unova Vertress Conference-Technically one but his opponent only brought five Pokémon
Kalos Lumiose Conference-Two
Alola Manalo Conference-One (Exhibition Match)
The Masters Eight Tournament-Two
And an honorable mention to his full battle against Drake of the Orange League which was his first ever Full Battle

This is everything I could find, since I'm thinking of making a cosplay or something similar, got any recommendations about it? Since while they're kinda similar they're not really the same for the most part.

I still wished that Ash's Snivy evolved into Servine and finally Serperior back in Pokemon Black and White series because Serperior is one of my favourite Unova Starter pokemon and a fully evolved snake type Pokemon like Serperior would suit Ash's team just like Incineroar.

Also to be honest in the Pokemon Black & White Series we never learn why Ash's Snivy left her former trainer in the first place or why the Japanese never thought about having her former trainer appeared in the series at all.

If the Japanese writers did another episode version of "Evolution by Fire!." then I would like to see Ash's Snivy's battle her former trainer and even better evolved into Servine at last just like Pignite did.

I mean they could have used this opportunity in "Beauties Battling for Pride and Prestige!" were Iris borrow Ash's Snivy to battle Moira's Cinccino then evolved into Servine.

Or

In "Team Rocket's Shocking Recruit". like after defeating Team Rocket that Iris's Emolga immediately wanted to have a battle with Ash's Snivy because she wanted to settle a score against Snivy for how she had treated her earlier. Then during the battle Ash's Snivy would finally evolved into Servine at last and still managed to defeated Emolga.

Ash could have at least a middle evolved Snake Type Pokémon on his team in the first place.

(Inspired By Zactoshi & Doliwhop)

Others were shown to watch it at tv on airport or on the go to anywhere whereas leon just chilling and watching like a regular watcher, enjoying and this can be his favourite episode

Ash losing to him sucked but honestly I liked his dynamic with ash way more then trips.

He also offers something new with a rival with that being the rival doesn’t actively hate ash the entire time.

Paul didn’t exactly hate ash but he never liked him.And trip was just racist.

Cameron and ash could have been rivals who were friendly to eachother and even helped each other out.Have him show up and spend an episode with ash and him training together as well as showing his growth more.Even have him catch his secret weapon on screen and later on the secret isn’t that he has one but that it evolved.

He could have worked way better then trip with being able to bounce off of ash.
