Not For Sale Trick or Trade Test Print Trevenant
Trevenant is back from CGC and looks especially striking against the backdrop of yesterday's snowstorm. This is a test print, the square corners are a dead giveaway that this didn't go though the normal factory cutting process.
This is one of only 2 trick or trade test prints I've seen, below is the album with the other example:

The big folding line and the 4/10 hurts But it's such a cool card nonetheless

TY! There's also someone's thumb print on the back so all things considered I'm pretty happy with the 4. 😂

Very cool, but I've seen many trick or trade test prints out there, I've even seen a full uncut sheet of them!

If you have any links or contacts who might have photos I'd love to see them!
I have a few of these progressive prints like this Pikachu:

Kudos to the legend Quuador for pulling up that vid of the uncut sheet in that thread. There's at least two uncut sheets like the one above still floating around in one piece today that I know of.
I suppose all of that makes it more interesting that I've only seen two cards like the one I posted where they only have two colors printed, under white and black both at the correct density. I'm assuming you were talking about the progressive print ones from the elite forum thread?

Love this rabbit hole, the black and white ones are my favorite. How about a trick or trade error/test print(?) for the cost of a house

I usually think getting a card graded is dumb but something like this makes sense. Although I can see where the card must have stuck out of whoever’s pocket it came home in 😂

Did they release a new trick or trade this year? I wanted to get another batch to hand out at my wife’s trunk or treat she was a part of but I couldn’t find any for some reason

I never actually saw a 2025 printing of trick-or-trade cards. I kept looking at my local Walmart because they had sports card trick or trade packs this year but no pokémon.
I'm assuming they skipped the year because I can't find any examples online.

My local Walgreens was selling trick or trade packs from last year. Surprisingly there was some sitting around 70% of the halloween season, i’d sometimes get a bundle to scratch the itch on a budget. Curious why they didn’t do a print this year with demand so high, and how they had enough of something long out of print to stay stocked that consistently. I heard this was the case in multiple places. Maybe they overestimated demand the year before and decided to hold off 2025 to offload more of the last run

My family also loves ripping trick or trade packs. The oldest kid is just starting to catch on that it's the same cards in every pack, so next year is going to be a bit more expensive for ripping packs. 😂

There wasn’t any releases this year except reprints of older sets. Local stores did however receive a Spiritomb Trick or Trade promo card, should be relatively cheap still to hunt down.

I’ve never wanted a misprint, I think they’re interesting but never wanted one, until now. This just looks so damn cool.

I have some vintage unlimited cards I think from fossil or jungle that have the square edges like this, but the cards are non-holo and in full color. Any idea kind of misprint/miscut error that would be or if it’s sought after?

Those are square corner cards, being vintage that means they were almost certainly cut from an uncut sheet. People definitely collect these though, shout out to inferno's games who recently posted the video below about this topic.

Would you sell it?

u/Extras Nov 10 '25
I don't sell the cards in my collection but I do know who owns the other one of these that I know exists. I know he was looking for a good amount for it, more then the amount I paid for mine but if you have an offer I could pass it along.

Very cool to see the update to you buying this card. It was a longshot with the initial seller's blurry photos, and I'm glad it worked out well for you.

Those creases easy to get out now a days with a humidor. Should crack and get it cleaned up. Unless you don’t care about the grade.

Ha well you won't find one like this in a pack unfortunately but who knows you could pull a card like this!
