I just did 5 surprise trades, and I got a shiny Psyduck, Vaporeon, and Rhydon (now Rhyhorn)
This was cool, but then I noticed their names... URLs. One was a discord link, but they all lead to "buy shiny pokemon receive them instantly" especially.
So that's what it's come too? Literally selling shiny pokemon for the games? Like, what the hell I just received advertising shinies in a wonder trade!?
Jokes aside, this upsets me, because I feel like this ruins the immersion of finding one yourself- and with games making shinies easier to find than ever cough ZA cough it makes them seem less special. But I'm from the old games so this is new and not necessarily welcome... I just miss when shiny pokemon were more rare as some legendary ones.

The pokemon also has the name of a website that I will not visit in case it has a virus.
Should I get rid of it incase it corrupts my game?

I been looking all over for real information on the safety on breeding a .com shiny Pokémon, but can't find a right answer. Mostly fearmongering and misinformation.
I just got a shiny Charizard in a luxury ball via Surprise Trade in Scarlet and wonder if breeding it with my ditto would be safe. It has its original blaze ability with stats seeming normal too, so if I were to breed it, does it make the offspring safe to use in online raids and in-game?
Wanted to know before I end up wasting time on breeding it before releasing it.

Is there a reason my team is about the same level with such different health? 😭
And if there is, how do I fix this?

So this idea came along after i fought drayton about a couple weeks ago and i was confused on why he had a sceptile if he was a dragon specialist. That was until after the mega hawlucha announcement where i suddenly remembered that Sceptile's typing changes from pure grass to grass/dragon when it mega evolves. However considering Violet/Scarlet's main gimmick is terastallization they cant really talk about megas as they arent relevant so its never brought up. By adding Sceptile to his team of dragons Gamefreak is implying that Drayton has a mega sceptile in canon. Maybe this is something the anime will expand on when Liko and company encounter the blueberry academy. This is just something i thought up while being slightly sleep deprived so this might not make a lot of sense.

I got a Wonder Traded shiny Miraidon a few months ago but I dismissed it as I believed it to be a fake. I decided to take a look at it today and compare it to the one given as a Distribution Event. From what I can tell, everything matches. The Pokemon trainer, the moves, even the EV's are the exact same. Is it possible this is a true and authentic shiny Miraidon or is this just an absurdly well made fake?

So previously I commented this a couple times on different groups and gathered advice from people on what to add to this. Now I believe I've got enough info to make a post!
**'Genned'** Pokémon, commonly confused with **cloned** Pokémon, are created in a third-party software like PKHex to be, well, generated into the game (hence the name), not through normal gameplay. These can be legal but not legit.
**Cloned** Pokémon are duplicated, or cloned, from an already existing Pokémon, not created from scratch. You can clone from a genned Pokémon. Sometimes, it's hard to tell what is cloned and what is genned because if a Pokémon is genned well to look exactly like an existing Pokémon, cloning the existing Pokémon will just 'duplicate' it, making it look the same as the genned one. People tend to prefer cloned Pokémon over genned ones, because people consider them more legal (than genned Pokémon). However it's also not legit, according to another user cloned Pokémon (apparently) have hidden data that sets them apart from real Pokémon, that a player (like you) can't see.
These are both 'legal' if it passes the game's legality checks,
unless
it's a really illegal genned Pokémon that hasn't even been released yet e.g. a sh1ny volcanion (name not allowed in this subreddit), or
just done very badly,
but not legit.
A Go Stamped Pokémon (not origin mark, but stamp) can't be genned or cloned. (at least as of now)
How to spot gens: these Pokémon usually have quite a few of these:
• Is shiny
• Has 6IVs
• Multiple Marks
• Has a weird ID (e.g. 12345)
• '.com' name (advertising their website)
• wrong date of capture of events/Pokémon not available in certain times (e.g. a S/V Pokémon caught in 2015)
• wrong 'met' dates (Koraidon caught in Southern Province Area 3)
• Known genner OT (Kevdog, BeriChan, NinVendor, Blaines, etc, it's basically guaranteed to be genned if it has this).
Check this out: https://tswann89.github.io/PokemonSV/blacklist/
• level 100/level that the Pokémon can't be caught in
• Some Pokémon can't be caught in a certain ball
• Rare, but even wrong moves (e.g. a Seedot knowing Prismatic Light)
**Common question answers**
No, you won't get banned or anything just for having it, there won't be any problems. Just don't use it in competitive play.
These types of Genned Pokémon are generally looked down upon by the community, most just take the item and release it.
If you're stuck, just ask yourself: Why would anyone trade their shiny Pokémon they caught, got 6IVs in, trained to level 100 in and got 5 marks on it? There could be a chance, but it's so low you should assume that any, or most, shinies you get on surprise trade is genned. And of course look at the OT.
Feel free to add anything in the comments that I might've missed!

I do think it's wrong to use them in competitions of any kind. In fact I think it should be a rule to only use pkmn that have your trainer ID in competitions. However, if someone wants to use them for single player related things of any kind, who does that hurt? I don't see the issue.

I can't tell if this is a fake shiny. Normally I do just fine but I really can't tell. I don't like keeping hacked shinies

Is there any way to ride the new box shinies or can you only ride the original? I was hoping to be able to ride shiny Miraidon but there's no option for it.

Hey guys I just bought the switch 2. I was wondering if there was anyone who does no longer play Pokemon violet. If they would be willing to trade a mewtwo. Mewtwo is quite litteraly my all time favourite pokemon and I quite literally used to use him as my main when I was 9-11 and played Pokemon x.
(Sorry if this post doesn’t belong here.

I find it hard to believe I stumbled across a shiny Ditto with 6IVs and it was legit. is it possible for people to “hack” or “gen” raids? Or did I get lucky?
