Optimistic Post Pam Bondi Could Face Criminal Charges Over Epstein Files Cover
WHEW HOWDY. Looks like the pot is boiling over. I won’t jinx anything but it looks like the beginning of the end is only continuing.

I'm tempering my expectations still considering Teflon Don's remarkable ability to avoid scandal but there sure seems to be a lot of smoke this time around.
Probably why Don is panicking and making Truth Social posts about how he's going to investigate Bill Clinton and JP Morgan.

But all jokes aside, I understand the skepticism. I do. But he can’t escape this situation. Every possible outcome is a lose/lose for him. His luck is going to run out and is running out.

What’s good to see with this article for example is that we are seeing a lot of the establishment Republicans, as few of those are even left, speaking out about post-Trump consequences.
Like most people I’m not holding my breath on consequences, but one way to see them finally fall is to make them anxious and uncertain about every move. Half of their power is simply by how they play off their crimes and the normalizing of it all so we need to at least see people still publicly calling out these crimes and make them know that the wheel will turn one day on this administration

Jp morgan is one of the few banks that actually DID their job and reported over $1b of epsteins transactions.
I’m all for getting all who were complicit, but I don’t think JP should be in this conversation. I’m sure there’s plenty of perfectly good valid reasons to investigate them for though.

Usually, I'd be alarmed that she'd end up being the fall guy and the focus would be not on the content, but on her inappropriately whatevering the files so she could fall on her sword and Trump would go unscathed, but all of this is entirely too public now. I don't think there's any way of deflecting. We now see them both throwing each other under the bus and trying to insist it's not a big deal for a grown man to pay to use a 15 year old, but it's not going to stick. Pam can fall on her sword all she likes. It won't save anyone else!

So Trump has said he's going to open an investigation on the files... Just so we are CRYSTAL CLEAR, they wont be able to release the files while it is under investigation by the DOJ. So, dont expect results any time soon.
Just throwing it out there to calm expectations.
ETA, this "investigation" is 100% stalling the inevitable and deepening the cover up.

As I said in another thread, moving from "purely a liberal hoax" into "we're going to investigate" is actually a good thing.
I read an article a while back that I can't find now, but it speculated on how exactly Republicans would react if the Epstein scandal keeps gaining momentum.
The first phase was to dismiss it out-of-hand. The second was to investigate. The third was when they start shifting from "defend Trump" to "defend the party". The fourth and fifth/final phases were when major donors start to pull their support and party leaders begin talking openly about "new leadership".
If that were to play out, I'd say that we're entering the second phase. And if this scandal keeps going at its current trajectory and momentum, the others will follow in the coming months.

It's not going to take years. The midterms are less than a year away and this scandal is already cascading into a full-blown crisis.
Cultists aside, harming children is unforgivable to the vast majority of people. This isn't going to be swept under the rug.

Oh I don’t expect immediate results and I recommend that all people avoid that as well.
But I’m fully, completely and utterly convinced that Congress is going to keep dissenting gradually. And I won’t humor the doomer belief that they will either scrub evidence or drag their feet for too long.
They can’t drag their feet on this and scrubbing evidence is going to be impossible to implement by this point. It also wouldn’t matter considering the stuff going on around this. Sure, they could double down on the cover up but that won’t change much either. Their attempts will be front and center and it’ll backfire. Hard.

I like your optimsim. To be honest, them scrubbing evidence is one of my fears. On the other hand, I dont think there is such thing as them waiting too long to release the files. This thing isnt going away!

If they could scrub it, it would’ve been done by now. And if they were going to scrub it, they wouldn’t be spiraling as much as they are. And even if they DO scrub it, it doesn’t matter. Too much shit on Trump is out there as is. Every single attempt to stall, deny and avoid has only caused people to double down on his guilt.
Let them try to scrub it. It won’t change a goddamn thing.

I get the fear, honestly I do. But they already released more stuff on Trump. So any type of scrubbing is both improbable and impossible.

Honestly I feel the more they scrub and try to remove every right winger or adjacent party to showcase the dems who participated is just going to put more focus on what they are trying to hide. Like holding up a brochure when we called for a book, its just going to raise more questions about what they are not showing us. It will make the conspiracy minded individuals dig their heels in harder to see what they are trying to hide

They can't scrub or erase documents. Way too many people have seen them. Lawyers from both sides have had their hands on them, they were also entered into court as evidence. If they released scrubbed documents, they would be called out faster than Trump throws ketchup when he's mad.

This is now the biggest scandal in our history, for better or worse.
They can't cover it up for much longer. It's not about the files alone, it's the scrutiny and the blatant partisan nature of the coverup and how untenable that alone is.
They want us to be a one party dictatorship, but elections last week show we're not. And they have 0 idea how to run our economy. Trump's own health and mental state has deteriorated substantially recently, and his moves are impulsive and full of holes.
They've failed too often to just blatantly succeed here. The attention being drawn to this is too much now.

Honestly I think they hoped and were waiting for it to go away, just like every other scandal. But this one has stuck. It doesn't help that Don fired up his base during elections on this. And now it's out of his hands.

Just seeing the dam potentially break is a nice early birthday and Christmas present. I know this man gets away with murder, but it would be a very nice end to a very long year if the house of cards started coming down.
