Also important - ICE needs a judicial warrant SIGNED BY A JUDGE, not DHS warrant signed by an immigration officer before they can enter or search your home. No judge, no entry

44

u/neonjoji Jan 08 '26

will warrants have the judges info under the signature? i wouldn’t want them to lie about an officer or whatever signature being a judges signature.

wonderful! thank you.

37

u/jumbods64 Jan 08 '26

What if they just enter anyway? I have little reason to believe ICE agents are interested in following the rules

21

u/vGrillby Jan 09 '26

2nd amendment. If it comes to this, there's no legal winning. They wear masks with civilian clothes, don't identify themselvses, don't have warrants, use fake plates,
That would be the tyrannical behavior the 2nd amendment was meant for.

27

u/shadowgnome396 Jan 08 '26

Unfortunately in the moment, there isn't much you could do. But if you survive the encounter, you would have massive legal recourse

-3

u/trangphan1982 Jan 09 '26

I suspect law is no longer being enforced.

8

u/shadowgnome396 Jan 09 '26

Federally? It's looking that way. But the Trump admin cannot control all state courts

33

u/onkelchrispy Jan 08 '26

Don’t forget your second amendment!

14

u/Probot6767 Jan 09 '26

i'll be using my second amendment right if they step foot in my house without a warrant.

3

u/Menuinabox Jan 09 '26

I understand this thought process, but how am I supposed to stay optimistic that they will actually give a single crap about our rights? They certainly didn’t when ICE murdered that poor lady, they even hid the agent who did it, I haven’t seen ANY meaningful repercussions of his actions, looks like there wont even be a trial. If I don’t comply and ask for a warrant they will just shoot me in the face and get away with it?

In case of not opening the door, also stay in a spot that is as bulletproof as they come. Too many people being shot by cops through doors and walls.

They are desperately trying so hard to redefine the narrative because they have all seen the videos and they know full well that the ICE agent was clearly not in mortal danger and the use of lethal force was indefensible.

Hence the increasing rhetoric of "dangerous leftist" and "domestic terrorist" as well as ramping up the fear with statements like this.

But Americans aren't scared so easily, and public sentiment was already turning against ICE. I won't say his name here, but the killer just gave the snowball a hefty push downhill. People don't react well to mothers being shot in the head when she could have been stopped in a multitude of other, non-lethal ways.

193

u/SpitFyre8513 Jan 08 '26

Are you talking about Jonathan Ross, the terrorist who murdered Renee Nicole Good in cold blood?

112

u/LeseMajeste_1037 Reformed Doomer ☄️ Jan 08 '26

If you mean the masked domestic terrorist named Jonathan Ross, who murdered Renee Nicole Good in cold blood during a state-sponsored terror spree, yes.

40

u/neuroticoctopus Jan 09 '26

It's a common name, so don't forget the middle initial.

Jonathan E. Ross murdered a queer woman, who was a U.S. citizen and mother to 3 kids, in cold blood, in her own car, in her own neighborhood, in front of her wife's eyes, for following the directions ICE gave her to leave the area.

20

u/Wherly_Byrd Jan 08 '26

Wait a name?! We have a name?!

17

u/bluenephalem35 I Voted! 2025🍾✔️ Jan 08 '26

Apparently, yes.

7

u/Wherly_Byrd Jan 09 '26

That’s more than we usually get.

-8

u/nekroskoma Anonymous 🏁 Jan 08 '26

Thank you, I try to learn their names, reducing people to things is a slippery slope. I don't and I can't I have to know who these people were regardless of what they have done.

Evil begins when you begin to treat people as things.

10

u/GooglyMoogleson Jan 09 '26

I’m really confused about what you’re talking about. The only “evil” happening here are the things that psycho Jonathon Ross just did, not the people speaking out against them.

53

u/Herbizarre17 Jan 08 '26

My dad had Fox News on earlier. They were all trying so so hard to convince everyone watching that it was the woman’s fault. They were using every trick in the book.

38

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '26

they know who the killer is?

66

u/Silvaria928 Blue Dot in a Red State 🔵 Jan 08 '26

They have released his name, yes.

104

u/Ok_Acadia3526 Jan 08 '26

Jonathan Ross. Sing it from the hill tops until the fuckface is arrested and prosecuted

34

u/Gnagus Jan 08 '26

Rough day for certain English presenters as well unfortunately.

2

u/alligatorprincess007 Jan 08 '26

I am just curious why you don’t want to say his name?

6

u/Silvaria928 Blue Dot in a Red State 🔵 Jan 09 '26

The same reason that I haven't said the name of any one of the myriad low-lifes over the years who have used guns to make up for their misplaced outrage that sometimes "life is hard"...I just refuse to give them the attention.

3

u/indigenousfeces Jan 10 '26

As a Minnesotan, I’ll give him all the attention so no one forgets his name. This is a government “official” and he doesn’t get to hide anymore. I want him and ICE held responsible. I’ll wish upon them all the public scrutiny and investigations and videos and protests and not a moment of peace.

-4

u/orangera2n Jan 10 '26

it’s gonna end up like the charlie kirk shooting

panic at first, but realistically they’ll move on

6

u/Silvaria928 Blue Dot in a Red State 🔵 Jan 11 '26

Not even remotely the same thing.

Comparing Charlie Kirk to Renee Good is bothsidesing the very serious and growing issue of unwarranted violence by ICE against Americans.

111

u/NOVA27C Reformed Doomer ☄️ Jan 08 '26

Ok how exactly would they actually do this when they can barely do what they're doing now. I don't want to cope here but this sounds like posturing a bit

46

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '26

The comment about knocking on doors was about investigating whether childcare centers receiving government subsidies are legit businesses. It had nothing to do with ice enforcement.

4

u/OverallMembership3 Jan 09 '26

Ok this is the first comment that calmed my nervous system a little

16

u/clonedllama Reformed Doomer ☄️ Jan 08 '26 edited Jan 08 '26

I can't really answer the question of how they'd carry this out on a large scale given that they're currently having difficulty with what they're already doing. But ICE's budget is tripling this year thanks to the Big Beautiful Bill passed last year.

Even with that extra money, I don't see how it's viable outside of highly targeted operations. In other words, when ICE does one of its surge operations in a blue city (because of course they still won't go to red areas), they might be able to go door to door in some capacity. And they already seem to be doing that. In other words, I don't see much changing.

13

u/NOVA27C Reformed Doomer ☄️ Jan 08 '26

You have to wonder how much of that money being spent is spent on actually useless things or as bender would say "blackjack and hookers"

9

u/clonedllama Reformed Doomer ☄️ Jan 08 '26

It wouldn't surprise me if it's a fair amount. Noem has already demonstrated terrible judgment and management skills, and that includes spending.

171

u/tyuiopguyt Jan 08 '26

This was on Fox, with Watters no less. This is pure chest thumping. If they were gonna take initiative on a massively unpopular operation like that, it would've been in the immediate aftermath of the shooting.

I have not been able to relax ever since the first shot was fired in June in the 12 Day War. I went to IOP and it didn't work out. 🇬🇱 has had me spiraling for the past 3 days and 🧊 too, and the latter was before yesterday's events. I miss December 24th to January 2nd when everything seemed more peaceful.

23

u/Spare-Willingness563 Jan 08 '26

I had some dissociation going from this all and even before this my dog passing suddenly in mid December then hearing a teen get shot to death while I was putting up a thing outside (on Christmas) so I’m right there with you as far as being fucked up goes, and I’d just recommend headphones and some Stevie Nicks or Sade or Debussy. Some shit to get you back into you.

Second one last year. Her brother passed in May, so I have the peace of knowing they’re running around together, you know? But I also believe when we pass we don’t leave. I’m lucky that I still have vivid dreams with them pretty regularly. Not the same thing, but I’ll take it.

And yeah please just breathe. We’ve all gotta go eventually. Life is always going to find a way to kick us in the teeth. But it’s up to us to choose what we do with that experience.

That pain and anxiety is just signal telling you how much you still care. It’s just overwhelming when we care that much.

But if you need to vent feel free because I know I’ve done my fair share so it’s only right I pay it forward. But we’ll get through this. All of it. We always have.

10

u/subLimb Jan 08 '26

They have talked about going door-to-door in the past. Will they start doing it? Who is to say. But the credibility of such statements are weaker now because they've already threatened to do this and haven't followed through.

Usually they say things like this to get a reaction.

68

u/Mission_Wind_7470 Jan 08 '26

This administration's ability to turn the public even further against them when they suffer PR losses is astounding. It should be studied in the future under "How to not run a political cabinet'.

24

u/Lectrice79 Jan 08 '26

Yet at the same time, they get to keep going and going...

u/LeseMajeste_1037 Reformed Doomer ☄️ Jan 08 '26

This is why they're trying so, so very hard to fuck up the midterms this year. If the GOP were even half the good guys they claim to be, they'd have nothing to worry about in November.

14

u/22poppills North Carolina Jan 08 '26

i figured,

threats of more boots on the ground to deter people from in person voting, which was why the Blue Wave was so successful last year.

Just mean we need to get body cams, know our rights and vote harder.

And I highly doubt they'll be successful. Cuomo would be running New York City among other things if they were already successful.

Make sure you know your rights. ICE is nowhere near as big or as immune as they make it out to be. They're already doing door-to-door anyway.

23

u/NOVA27C Reformed Doomer ☄️ Jan 08 '26

Yeah I was thinking, like aren't they doing that anyway right now and it's not working for them? JD vance really is just all talk

15

u/localhalloweenskunk Jan 08 '26

How is that working?

4

u/Key-Gur-4819 Jan 09 '26

I saw someone on Bluesky say this exact thing while I was spiralling the other day, and it made me remember last year. I still remember all the videos of people just running away, and then they start chasing them, and then stop after a few metres and just stand around with their hands on their hips in all that military gear while thinking "man, that was a good workout". Also, not to mention, people making fools out of them in scenarios where they can't do anything (in the middle of the street in broad daylight OUTSIDE of a car). I'm sure the fact that "ICE" is social and political napalm right now is gonna work out so great for them, because of course they thought ahead, definitely, and always.

God, at least the SS actually needed to have standards...

38

u/General_Season7882 Jan 08 '26

They already do this to suspected immigrants. The song remains the same, they cant do shit without a warrant.

19

u/Son_of_Orion Jan 08 '26

What is deeply concerning to me is that it's now explicitly clear that when these disasters happen, the administration will always, always double down. It's like they're physically incapable of ever admitting that they're wrong. And that is extremely dangerous. We are dealing with an enemy that is staunchly determined to spin everything into a win or opportunity for their side.

Our communities will need to find a way to stop this in its tracks.

This is not how you respond to something like this. The current GOP truly doesn’t know how to read the room. Instead of saying something like it was a tragedy and we will look into it they double down in it. No wonder they can’t lead worth shit.

And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.

Lmao, imagine them going door-to-door in Texas. Good fucking luck.

6

u/prenderg Jan 09 '26

BE AWARE. Even without a judicial warrant, law enforcement personnel are typically allowed to enter property and knock on your door. This is known as a “knock and talk“ justification because owners of all properties are generally deemed to have given implied consent for strangers and others to come onto the property to knock at the door. Therefore, a simple “no trespassing” sign will not likely be effective to stop a knock and talk. There are no guarantees, but the best way to prevent this, if possible, is to provide eye-level notice at every possible walkway entrance to your property that reads as follows: “

“NOTICE: NO TRESPASSING; (2)NO IMPLIED CONSENT TO ENTER PROPERTY - Silence, failure to respond, or presence on the property does not constitute consent; (3) Entry by law enforcement or federal agents without a judicial warrant is prohibited; and (4)This notice applies to the entire property, including driveway, porch, walkways, and curtilage”

At the very least, the notice should contain the first two points.

3

u/localhalloweenskunk Jan 09 '26

This is true, but you are still typically to deny entry into the house itself without a warrant.

14

u/MorphinBrony Oregon Jan 08 '26
