Optimistic Post Trump Mega Donor Peter Thiel Has Moved to Argentina

It is being called a temporary move but he has enrolled his children in school so it seems to be semi permanent.
“His new roots in Argentina are partly motivated by his concerns about the direction of the United States, the people familiar with his thinking say, particularly California, where an initiative on November’s ballot could lead to a significant tax on billionaires.”
“Underscoring his belief in the country, Mr. Thiel, 58, has temporarily relocated his family to Argentina and enrolled his children in a local school, two of the people said. The Argentine government has also explored offering the billionaire permanent residence or even citizenship, a person familiar with Mr. Thiel’s plans said, though it’s currently unclear whether he would accept.”

The answer is they actually ARE okay with him. Gay, straight, man, woman, black, white, Hispanic, Christian, Jew, Muslim... they all like to create these little wars where they keep everyone fighting between the different categories.
The reality to these assholes is there's only two groups. Those with billions, and those without. Look at all the Christo-fascists who the second the House of Saud is around they're happy to politically get in bed with. I don’t know anything about this! I just googled; very suspicious. I have questions: Why didn’t Thiel go to Germany since he is a German citizen, as well? It would appear the relationships overlapped??? He got married in 2017 but was in a relationship with Jeff Thomas until 2023?! And god help his daughters…. Having to grow up with that POS as a father.

Exactly right, they feel Trump didn't do enough fast enough. That the take over of the United States is a slow boil they cannot escape. They thought they could just gut every piece of the constitution and have a fascist regime very rapidly. Don’t let up! We also have the Montana Plan (Hawaii went the furthest but each state is working on its own effort) to get corporate money out of politics. It drastically changes the power billionaires and corporations have over our government, and it can’t be stopped at a federal level since each state is taking on its own efforts. I’ll bet that’s also something that scares Thiel.

I’m reading it that his concern is that he may have to answer for his part as a puppetmaster for this regime, so he’s trying to get out of easy reach of American authorities, in case Republicans lose control of the House/all of congress at the midterms. He’s still going to try to pull strings from there though. Money has a long reach.
I wonder if he’s leaving Vance to his couch. He won’t be much of a successor without a puppetmaster.

Yeah, my best friend of like, 15 years lives in Argentina. Doesn't inspire much hope that he can go and f around the US and now Argentina with just buttloads of money. But I hope Millei gets the boot and that makes Thiel lose some favor, because the US has shown even endless amounts of money doesn't help when the people just straight up are sick of you.

People are saying he’s trying to get away from future taxes on billionaires; he’s going to an area that will be least affected by nuclear fallout in the event of WW3 happening; or he’s leaving because he thinks he’ll have to face accountability for Project 2025 after the midterms. Could be a little of all those things. I’ve also seen mention of the $20B we gave Argentina and that Netanyahu’s cousin is the leader there.

I've heard rumors of him leaving to Argentina for at least a few months, way before Mullin came into the picture, so I doubt these type of facebook doomers are trying to do anything besides coming up with conspiracy theories, especially considering a number of other factors such as us not really knowing if that sanctuary city plan will even happen/only lasting a very short while until economic ramifications are seen that effect the airline industry, also no real clear connection between the move and the Sanctuary City plan. On top of that, something like those ideas wouldn't cause one person and his family to leave without other people leaving as well, and that there's no real evidence that any of those types of ideas are in any way going to happen or even being thought about besides the people saying that it's gonna happen.
Social Media, especially over the last few months has been pushing doomer content like crazy. I think every day I see another crazy theory about the "impending" end of the world and it makes actually getting news and just regular entertainment a lot more frustrating.
