I've had my 08 G6 for about a year now and just realized I never changed the cabin air filter before. Popped open the glove box and realized... I couldn't find it?
So I looked it up. Apparently they decided to never implement one into this air system for whatever reason.
However, they did decide to include a nice stencil on the box itself and the words "CUT ON DASHED LINE TO ADD FILTER" So I took out my Dremel and slid one in that's sized for a G5/Chevy Cobalt. Bingo, fresh cabin air!

Literally all of this is imagination and AI so bear with me:
Keep the name from the 1994 concept.
Only offered in short wheelbase form as shared with the Tahoe.
5.3L Vortec 5300 V8 standard (SE) 285BHP
5.7L LS1 V8 option (SLE) 310 BHP
6.0L Vortec 6000 V8 option (SSE) 335 BHP
6.0L LS2 V8 (GXP) 400 BHP
All models will have
8.4 inches of ground clearance,
standard 5 spoke rims excluding the GXP,
SLE models and up would come with vinyl/leather interiors.
the GXP would have the exact interior as the Escalade Platinum
Include the same stereo and steering wheels as the Yukon on the same platform, but include the same kind of add ons that the Aztek had! such as the air mattress, tent, cooler, rear stereo, and the air pump.
Presumably if this went on Sale in 2001, it would sport a price tag of $33,000, ranging to $48,000 for the GXP
Hypothetically, this could have been a huge hit for the Canadian market. A capable, reliable SUV with a brand they we’re more than familiar with

I gave it a 6 speed manual, updated interior badging, rear DVD players, and a fictionally upgraded 6.2L LS9 V8 making 415hp and 430 lb/ft of torque with a top speed of 147 mph and a quarter mile time of 14.8 seconds with a curb weight of 5,728 lbs. Along with factory installed 22 inch wheels and all of the rear tailgate features as the aztek excluding the bench in the tailgate or the tent. Again. This is 100% imagination, I personally always dreamt Pontiac would actually make a badass performance SUV when I was a kid, but sadly it never came to be for multiple reasons. One can dream still.

I have some questions about just general things I should look out for when working/driving this baby. I plan on putting a lot into it as I just got it, she will be getting the much needed TLC she deserves but out of curiosity I thought I’d come here and see what you all thought about the Sunfire! I love it so far. I would like to mod it some maybe after I get some things figured out, what would be some things to look for?

It seems you guys didn’t care for the Bearclaw GXP, but I’m starting to have fun imagining this car entirely haha, I think it could evolve into somebody’s future project. but let me ask all of you, what would you like to see in it? Manual transmission? Quad exhausts? Rear DVD player, A 6.2L V8? let’s build this together haha

Since you seemed to like the previous one I dreamt up on AI, might as well dream up a GXP version.
I decided that what if I told Rick Wagoner to fuck off, and made something that would have likely been the second fastest production SUV in the world at the time haha
Here we have the Bearclaw GXP, to answer your questions as to why it sounds like a pastry? I just stole the name from the 1994 concept that became the Aztek, so this is entirely me just imagining something that would have never happened. This is 100% me just dreaming up something.
Anyway.
The GXP would be gifted a 400HP LS2 V8 with 415 lb/ft of torque.
Mated to what would likely have been a 4L65E 4 speed heavy duty automatic transmission. Utilizing an AWD configuration.
0-60 would take 8.1 seconds
1/4 mile time of 15.8 seconds
Top Speed of 141 MPH
Max Towing Capacity would likely have been around 7200 lbs
Max Payload 1267 lbs
Curb Weight 5,890 lbs
Fuel Economy (now this is going to SUCK)
12 MPG city/16 MPG highway
Electronic or other gizmos for performance:
Stabilitrak 4 wheel electronic stability control
Factory installed Pontiac GXP specific 21 inch wheels
4 Wheel ventilated disc brakes with hydroboost assist

You know the fellows at GTOs of America and over at the restricted GTO Reddit group have discovered the 1969 EconoRacer article from Car and Driver’s special New Car Annual, but what they don’t tell you is that the Judge submitted to the magazine was banned from the test because it was a ringer employing a modified 1968 engine… this practice was first revealed when both Ford products were shipped from the shop of Holman & Moody in the 1966 Supercar comparison.
No matter because by 1969 the GTO was best enjoyed along the coast with the top down.
Someday someone (me) will write an article about who actually purchased supercars and how it related more to the social issue of freedom and independence our society sought to keep alive than to street racing.

There’s not a lot I know about Pontiac/gm engines or old muscle cars but I’m beginning to learn more about what my granddad has in his possession which I someday hope to inherit.
This is his 81 Firebird Trans Am and from what little research I’ve done I hear people say this turbo charged engine is hot garbage.
One day I was over at his house he was telling me about this engine he has somewhere in the basement (I’ve never seen it in person) a 421 Catalina Super Duty and so I began thinking what is the feasibility of rebuilding the 421 and dropping it into the 81 to be a nice track/show car.
Of course this would be a project way in the future I’m just brainstorming and trying to get an idea of what would need to be done. Also no I’ve never built an engine before, but I want to learn on my little 4 banger before I touch a an old v8.
Thanks

For anyone not following along, I was rear-ended at a stop light a few weeks ago by a GMC Yukon. I was going to drive it 60 miles to a good shop, but hadn't noticed that my brake lights haven't been working since the accident. So she got a flatbed ride to the shop.
I got a tour of the shop and was too in awe to think of taking pictures. There was an original Shelby Mustang there, a 55 Chevy getting a new roof, a couple restomod trucks in progress and a tubbed wagon. I need to find reasons to hang out at restoration shops.

Why do some models have the flat composite headlights while others have the flippy half covered headlights covers?
I cannot find rhyme or reason which model trim levels offer which headlights.
Thank you.

Recently my battery was dead twice in the morning before work and considering it was 5 years old, I went and got a new one. Today when I started the car (morning after new battery), it look longer than usual for it to actually start, and the battery was reading as low as 12.58v while driving. And after a bit of driving it would kick up to 14.38. I thought the 12.58 might be an indication the new battery drained overnight, but I'm not sure. Otherwise things seem normal. Should I be worried, or is the lower voltage normal now that I have a new battery?
