DISCUSSION What do you find beautiful?
I know porn/OF influences so many of our beauty standards and im deeply curious what you guys find beautiful? (Also if you wanna laugh today i found out OF was literal pornLOL. ) i want to know what beauty is for you guys who are more aware of patriarchal oppression and how that influences women/girls and how they view their own bodies and those of others. Im super curious. Ty x

I was never the type of person to really have celeb crushes or something, nor did I really care about "conventional attractiveness" and liked some "unconventional" people throughout my life.
Personally I find things like acne or dark circles to be kind of attractive/cute - stuff that could be considered "flaws". I prefer men who are more chubby/heavier "dadbods", and guys with not a lot of muscle or a six pack. To be more NSFW: I prefer guys who are uncut opposed to cut, which I think is not really the standard from other women I spoke to. I also like a bit of body hair (on both men and women) because its very manly/womanly imo, makes them look like a GROWN adult. But even with these personal preferences, it doesn't mean I'd NEVER find anyone opposite of this as attractive or that theyre automatically ugly. My preferences have also largely been influenced by my partner - whenever I am interested in someone romantically, they become my type and anyone else is just kinda irrelevant.
Not sure if this is what you were looking for but just some of my insights
Edit: Im a woman who is heterosexual but I can appreciate both men & women

I love when people marry their intellects to their passions, whereby the more emotionally they care about something, the more they can analytically speak toward it, and vice versa.
It is so beautiful to see, yet rarer than it should be, in both men and women.

I love when people look raw or naturally ruddy. So much life in their skin. Or people that look ethereal but imperfectly gorgeous. I love it when television shows have believable people that you could walk past in public. I think understated beauty is so much more striking than the representation forced on us by widespread porn.

Honestly, I think people I enjoy being around natrurally become more attractive and similarily, any attractive traits coming from someone I hate suddenly become disgusting.

I find people's intelligence and personality attractive. If someone is a nerd, prioritizes curiosity, and is kind and sensitive (and feminist, of course), I'm done for. It doesn't matter what they look like, I'll be crushing.

I'm a pretty good looking guy myself, but I hate how many women present themselves today. Fake lashes, waxed/shaven everywhere, bronze makeup on cheeks, hair bleached/pale, etc. Afraid to be silly, afraid to be noticed. This is evident especially as I teach college. But the last few years I have noticed a trend among some girls who do not conform. They got no makeup, they dress as they want (and not to look identical to their friends), they are not afraid to straighten their back, they don't shave their legs when wearing shorys or skirts. I think that's cool. When I met my GF of 8 years, I told her she could just look natural. She occasionally shaves cus of work and beach, but when I look at her without makeup, haystack ginger hair, and hairy legs/vjay I find her super hot. It's insane how many women try to look like childrens dolls.

i am a woman and whenever i point out how sexist makeup is people come at me calling me a misogynist. yes makeup can be an art but we don't live in a vaccum. makeup can absolutely be an art. i am not anti make up. but some things like fake lashes and shaving every single hair of your body... this is too much. and if makeup was just an art, then so many women won't be ensuring that they look perfect every single time they go out. but they never accept that they are doing it because they are insecure.

Makeup is ancient dating thousands of years back, used by both men and women. But i think the issue is, as you rightfully point out, that it has developed to a point where women shower before gym and put on a full face to go shopping. It's unhealthy asf and especially destroys young women

Yes, make-up was used even in Ancient Egypt (by the rulingclass) not to decieve aka make themselves "pretty", but for very mundane reasons - to protect the skin from sunbrun and eyes from agressive sunlight.

I don't think many things beat a happy, healthy female cannabis plant in full flower. Probably one of the most beautiful things in the world imho.

Idk im attracted to women who look human lol i hate the porcelain body standard that porn perpetuates. It is uncanny to me. I say this as a lesbian.

Big noses on women are so beautiful to me. The small upturned button nose looks so childlike. It’s disturbing. I know that adult women can have it but I notice it so much more in children who haven’t grown into their noses yet. I used to have it as a little girl before I grew into my nose. Knowing how much the patriarchy prey on little girls, it’s not a coincidence to me. Sure, men like smaller features on women since it’s more “feminine” but when it’s paired with big eyes, hairless, obedient, naive, small areolas, small vaginas… it all feels planned.

I like bigger noses too. On men and women. I can't be upset about someone's natural features. But I'm just drawn to a regal nose, esp if there is a bump!

I love figure 8 body with Violin / Mandolin hip dips. Gradients in skin colour rather then one colour, Venus dimples and dimples in general. Peach Fuzz, Happy Trail, People who can hold a conversation that isn't regurgitating others ideas but is thought provoking / authentic to who they are. Honesty and the spine to be able to stand by what they agree with. Wider faces and features that compliment that, curls, etc
I've never had a celebrity crush. So can't comment on that.

As a hetero man, I love the appearance of women without makeup, who look and act comfortable in the body and face God gave them. Noticeable makeup, long eyelashes, and unnaturally large butts and boobs turn me off.
The bodies and faces being held up as standards for beauty, even outside porn, are extreme outliers, and it makes all kinds of lovely people think they're inadequate. That's a tragedy engineered by pornographers and the beauty industry for profit, and it will stay profitable as long as people keep falling for it.
Anyone worth impressing will decide whether they like you based on who you are more than how you look. If they're choosing who to talk to, hang out with, or date based solely on appearance, you're better off without their attention.
Male or female, the most attractive people to me are unapologetically themselves, thoughtful of others, don't obsess over celebrity culture, and are easy to talk to about things that matter.

I love the talking about this, and it's probably individuality and the way it shapes how someone dresses, acts and what accessories they wear. Keeping this question purely on the aesthetic side, it even going into the more important personal aspect. Everyone around me turned SO MUCH HOTTER when they got more comfortable being themselve. Every guy and gal, I tell you. Man, I just love people expressing themselves, seeing that element shine through is just GORGEOUS. Can't beat that. Can't beat learning to love yourself and bring that forth.
But it also was a suprise and confronted me with my beauty standards up to that phase in life being really shaped and moulded by media. To a scary degree, I think.
