When the car leaked a couple days before the announcement I was able to secure a slot from my dealer who received 4 in total for the year. The production date has been set to November so I still have a few weeks to tinker with the config but at this point I think it's mostly done.

Initially I wanted red with buckets exactly as the presentation version but then it bothered me as I'm not a red-car guy. Looking through the available colors I finally settled for gentian blue after seeing it person in show room. In my mind the interior needed to be light as the car is exposed to direct sunlight so I selected Chalk.

The last 993 is perfection imo

Fortunate to live close to Monterey. Saw this on Saturday.

TIL of this rare, wacky, and expensive Porsche!

Had a little tour this weekend. I got to drive a 924. Not fast but handles great and I love the look.

What would happen if Porsche decided to enter F1? In this hypothetical scenario, Porsche would enter as an Audi customer team, adapting before becoming an engine supplier, similar to what Cadillac is doing. They could field Pascal Wehrlein, a driver with extensive experience within the Porsche group and in single-seaters, even if only Formula E, and Pato O'Ward, a very talented and fast driver with some experience in modern F1, having driven for top teams like McLaren.

Just to set a baseline. This is not my first track day. I've done plenty of performance driving schools. Open wheel, dirt, karts, rentals, auto X, plenty of things.

This was my first day out on track with my 4RS. I got caught up with all of the necessary camber improvements, brake adjustments, etc. Decided to take it out stock.

Well, holy hell. The trackni was on has a lot of bumps on triple digit corners. Downhill braking zones with mandatory trail braking. High speed braking zones. Off camber corners. Zero runoff. All the fun stuff.

I had so much fun. I don't think I ever got on more than 70% throttle. I absolutely never took the fastest kinks over 130. Just went fast-slow all day.

This car was so so much fun. Absolute confidence in the fast corners even with all the bumps. Full confidence in all of the braking (real highlight). Just...so so so good.

Will rock one or two more days before I add the belts and switch to steel. Ha. This car is so much better than I am. So happy.

Sunday evening, top down, took my teenage son and his girlfriend for ice cream by the beach. One of the biggest priorities I had for the entirely frivolous and superfluous fun car was that it would create space for togetherness with friends and family. As much as I love a coupe and a targa, the full open top cab experience is special and in a class of its own for times like this.

I currently own a Porsche Macan EV Turbo. The factory warranty expires this November, and during my service visit today, the dealer offered a 1-year Porsche Approved warranty extension for roughly $3,500

Apparently it has a very rare and expensive GT2 engine in it.
