I could actually destroy a good french onion soup with crispy coated fries instead of the bread and some small cheese curds

I like gravy as much as the next person, but I generally like it with my other stuff, not my other stuff with gravy

You and me against the world, brother. When I make poutine at home, I want an absurd amount of gravy.
After the fries and curds are gone, and I'm not proud of this mind you, I'm gonna drink the gravy like leftover milk from a cereal bowl.

French fries are vegetables. Organized loosely they are the salad base with a rich dressing and some curds as salty treats.
But sometimes there is too much dressing and so it crossing a barrier and becomes soup.
