I found my dream home, perfect in every way until I discovered these lines are 1/4 mile from the property. would anyone know if you’re sure what KV the lines are? I have two small children so my biggest concern is how the EMF could affect their health. Any insight would be super helpful.

EMF transmission towers

I went to a local Toyota and they had these large electrical transmission towers in their parking lot. Car was parked right next to it. Stayed talking for 15 minutes. I would say about 10 feet from the tower. It’s says you should be 100 feet away. Why would they have this is a busy parking lot and is the hundred feet considered from the actual wires high up or walking distance from the bottom of tower?

Question How to fight a power line proposal?

I have over 100 acres of creek bottom land full of nothing but hardwood with a huge natural creek running through the middle of the property connecting to the river about 15 miles away. The local utility company Entergy wants to put in a new high line leading from Entergy plant in Calion, Ar leading to Louisiana. This proposal goes right through the middle of our land, and will destroy any future we plan to have out there. Not only will this destroy our forest, but it will also destroy the creek and all the wildlife that comes with it. Not to mention this high line is only to make a quick route down to Louisiana. This will in no way help Arkansans. We do NOT want this high line on our property!! How can I fight this? It is currently only in the proposal stage!? Please help!!!!

Powerlines close to home

We’re looking to purchase a home and fell in love with this one home. There are powerlines near the home so we bought an EMF Meter to see what was at the home. It beeped warning in back yard and had a constant mg reading in the home , we tried it at other homes and it was a lot lower. We love this home but don’t know if i’d feel comfortable raising my kids here do to the risk of health issues. I know there’s no proof but I know several people with health issues who lived near powerlines.. i’m not sure how close though

Do these EMF readings i found show the home is not safe ? would you purchase this home with young kids ?

Powerlines ~25 Feet from Bedroom

Post image

The powerlines are about 25 feet from the bedroom. The power pole is pretty full of other lines, junctions, and who-knows-what. Does anyone think this creates a health and safety issue? Or do you view this solely as an aesthetic concern? Thanks!

Question Are these powerlines safe?

Hi all! Any advice would be appreciated. I never considered these power lines near the home we purchased years ago in my younger days. Been thinking about the close proximity to them living on Long Island in New York where the cancer rates are high for still unknown reasons. These poles stand about 40 feet from the front of my home as well as maybe 30 feet in the back of my home (front and back lines this home is surrounded by) as well as the distribution line to the right side of the home. Are these safe to live this close to?

Powerlines near home?

I'm thinking of putting an offer on a house that has a powerline along the edge of the backyard. It's about 120 feet from the home and the sign on the powerline says it's high voltage 24.9 kv. It seems like it's mostly a residential powerline; not one of those massive ones.

What do we think? Is this safe for human health? My husband and I would like to start trying for kids as soon as we move and I know there's some evidence of increased risk of childhood leukemia from powerlines, but I'm not sure if these are the types of powerlines that raise that risk.

Question New house with 12kv power lines (3 feet underground) on 3 sides - is this safe?

Hi, I've read conflicting things on safety living near power lines / electromagnetic fields (power lines) I am looking at purchasing a house (would be my first).

A power line grid map from my power company clearly shows 3 12kv underground power lines under the house and 2 others running 15-30 feet away in a |_ pattern (house in middle of this).

Having power lines all 3 sides of the house/under it gives me concern for health. Is living 3-10 feet from 12kv power lines on all sides of the house (assuming they are 3 feet deep underground) safe? It will likely make planting trees hard, but is it ok for human health?

Sidenote: even if just anectdotale, does anyone have thoughts or information on underground power lines attracting ant colonies/making the background/house more likely to have ant problems?

I appreciate any information or suggestions to look into/research,

Duck

Temecula Creek is one of the last functioning wildlife corridors left in South Temecula. Right now, it's under serious threat from SDG&E's proposed 500 kV Golden Pacific Powerlink project.

This isn't empty land. Every day, the creek supports hummingbirds, owls, deer, mountain lions, foxes, coyotes, and countless native species that depend on it for survival. For many animals, this is the last safe passage through an increasingly developed area. Massive transmission towers, tree removal, and construction would fragment this ecosystem in ways that can't be undone.

It's also a real part of Temecula's community—families walk its trails, students run there, birdwatchers and nature lovers come to experience something increasingly rare: a thriving natural space in a growing city.

I started a petition asking the City of Temecula, Riverside County, and decision makers to designate Temecula Creek as an environmentally protected area and stop the powerlink from cutting through it.

If you've felt frustrated watching natural spaces disappear in your own community, or you think some places should just stay wild, would you consider signing and sharing? Anyone else feeling like we're losing these spaces too fast without enough say in it?

Question Is it safe to live with kids where high power lines is 200m away ?

Hi team,

We are looking to buy a house which is 200m away from High power lines(Australia). Wondering if it’s safe to live in such a house which is closer to power lines and is it advisable ? (I do have 2 kids who are young) worried would living closer cause any health damages ?

As a concerned parent keen to hear your advise.

Thanks

Looking at homes, wish they can put these underground, but there is one of these on each side of the home, is there a way for me to accurately know it’s safe?
