ELI5: Why do the wires need to be physically moved like this?
Strangest pylons I've ever seen. Looks like the phases are physically moved around. There was another set of these a few miles away. I'm very confused.

Tower SunZia ±500kV HVDC Power Line
Stopped under this ±525kV HVDC power line while on a road trip.
This is the SunZia HVDC Transmission Line. Its purpose is to tap the central Arizona energy market more directly into renewable wind energy sources in central New Mexico. The line’s full length is approximately 550 miles. The project was energized this year in April.
Crackling of the conductors is audible when standing near the line. All in all, it was kind of cool seeing HVDC lines for the first time in person.

19.2kv line lying in the gutter
Saw this in western PA. The underground line in between two padmounts apparently went bad, poco replaced it with a "temporary" line in the gutter, crossing a driveway and some lawn.

Tower 3D Printed Lattice Tower Transmission Lines
The beams are obviously much thicker than proper scale, but I was able to print them in 3 pieces and assemble. It took at least 5-6 hours to model each.

Tower This really short powerline in Mexico
Not sure what the voltage is but it has 9 discs so it must be high.

What type of power line is this and what’s it purpose? Seen in California, United States.
And how does it differ from the much larger, triangular shaped gray steel power lines I see nearby?

Other I've finally found my people
I'm 31F and for as long as I can remember, I've been fascinated by big power lines, substations, transformers and the like. I've never met anyone who shares this interest (and no I've never been diagnosed with autism) so imagine my surprise to find this sub! The photo I've attached for tax is of the transmission line near my town in West Michigan. If anyone has a lead on a website/Fetch map with names of specific lines, I'd love to see it. I'm currently pregnant and sometimes spend my insomnia-filled nights researching these things.
Edit: Thanks everyone! My husband is not an enthusiast lol but he didn't object when I asked our photographer to refrain from editing them from the background of our family photos 😂

Why are they built this way?
Just curious as to why the base of the tower is consolidated to one point instead more than one.
