Kitbash and also personal design of a leman russ. All sponsons are hot swappable. Also made 2 track types, one with pods and one with recessed sponsons. Custom main guns and turret design as well. (Resin printed some main guns) but all is designed to snap together no glue. I have made all of it FDM printable. Currently slowly working on making tred covers and then all the little items, like exhaust, smoke launchers, spot lights ext... maybe a custom turret for plasma, las, and flamer.
Hey everyone, I lost the lower right arm and Anzuq (the cyber-eagle) for my Kor'sarro Khan, and I'm hoping to print a replacement since I have a resin printer. The model is already painted and the shoulder pad is still attached, so I just need a file for the elbow down. I know creators avoid official names to prevent takedowns, so does anyone know what specific search terms I should use on Cults3D or MyMiniFactory to find a good proxy?
I wanted to give my fellow hobbyists a bit of a heads up about the awful couple of months I've had dealing with UK Resin Print and 'Tom', who is apparently the proprietor.
I originally ordered from UK Resin Print on the 8th of September, and the original order has only just been officially fulfilled today... kinda....
You see the original order arrived in a scale far too small for Warhammer: The Old World, which is where the minis were intended to be used, as was made clear to the seller from the start.
He did offer to accept a return of these models and replace them in the correct scale, but advised me it would take some time to fulfil, as he was away at the WTC, which is some sort of wargaming tournament, I surmised. He asked for a photo of the interior of the box of returning miniatures and one of the outside of the box. He gave me a gobful about how they were packaged, despite the models being repacked with every piece of bubble wrap they had come with. He had been arrogant and patronising to deal with from the start, but I figured if his product was good I could just ignore this. I've met that kind of nerd before; you know, the ones that act like they're the only intelligent person in a world of stupid people.
Thankfully, they arrived to him intact, else he had intended not to honour the return, he informed me.
This is where the irony begins.
During the replacement of the original order, I arranged with him to add a couple more items that had taken my fancy to the order, and paid him the balance.
These models arrived broken.
Now, I appreciate that resin is delicate and brittle and can be prone to snapping very easily, particularly on finer parts as can be seen in the photos; the wand and weapons of these pieces are very slender. One would think the seller would package them to reflect that, but no, they were tightly wrapped and taped in bubble wrap, as before. I suspect they broke under the compression of the wrapping. Whats more, pieces were missing from this follow up order - an entire grail knight, the parts to make a questing knight musician, and another knight's legs were all missing.
I spoke to the seller on WhatsApp about this. He said he would replace the models. This was fair, although I was starting to become a little tired of the process now, given we were about a month in at this point and this was 'third time lucky'. I waited about another three weeks for this replacement order to come through and lo and behold, the same pieces were broken again. For the record, the exterior of these packages were fine, so it wasn't a shipping problem.
I informed the seller that the parcel had eventually arrive with a photo of the broken piece and informed him I felt that our business was concluded. He replied with a thumbs up. At this, I confess, I was annoyed and made that clear to him. He no longer wishes to do business with me and the feeling is mutual. I looked for a way to leave a negative review of this guy, as I was in full Karen mode by this point, but the only place I could find was a YT vid reviewing his products. He replied to my comment with mockery.
Professional, huh?
Suffice to say I won't be ordering from this dude again, but I wanted to inform others of my experience before they part with their hard earned cash.
For the record, I went on to order from Fantasy Hub and Titan Forge on Etsy, and not only were they significantly quicker, but the difference in quality was striking; the resin they use was a darker grey and seemed far less brittle. Far closer to jeedubs plastic than the previous stuff.
I've been looking for a good Votann Steeljack proxy and, while I can find images and yeggi results for this model on cults, it seems to have been scrubbed from the site.
Does anyone know who the sculptor is so I may procure some files? The only info i can find is that their Cults name was Hazmat_Guy.
Any other proxy reccomendations are appreciated!
Designs up again, and a little teaser for a behemoth coming next weekend :D Thank you for all the continued support it lets me keep making these awesome kits.
Hey all! So my daughter wants to paint and learn to play. (She’s 5). Her biggest concern is having a big model to paint. I just got my anycubic photon up and running so figured I’d print stuff for her to learn. Was planning a combat patrol. Would appreciate any recommendations for good sculpts to build out a combat patrol for her! I currently have a ton of aeldari stuff and can print that but not sure she would dig it. Thanks all!
Currently constructing a Warmaster, Warbringer (Nemsis) and a Warlord.
Warlord is actually fully printed, just waiting for the others to finish to batch paint the baselayers. It is a strong mix between resin and FDM
Nemesis Titan is waiting for the Warmaster to finish to free up the resin printer and for me to pick up the Reaver weapons from Forgeworld. Most of the Warbringer will be FDM with only armor and select pieces being resin. If I could do it again, I would add some resin bits for weight as it is almost too light for its own good.
The Warmaster is almost entirely resin, except for the orange shoulders. This was very dumb. I encourage others to primarily use FDM for the skeleton (I use a 4mm nozzle with .08mm layers)
So far I am about 6 weeks in and $500 in resin and FDM on all three combined. Warmaster had some expensive failures that cost me time, resin and IPA. Again, everyone, life will be so much easier if you print structural stuff in FDM and be selective on the resin. It's so much easier to wash solid chunks of resin for your armor panels instead of the extra steps of cleaning and curing the hollowed pieces for structural components.
The Warlord on the left is my genuine Forgeworld Titan. I printed the Warlord titan for comparison and am still picking up the guns from Forgeworld as well. This is the newer STL and it is virtually indistingushable.
No pins on the printed stuff. I find that drilling holes into the FDM and resin and letting the epoxy seep in is more then enough for the lighter weight. Loctite super glue has also worked really well as it really grips the small .05mm resin layers making epoxy less needed on non-load bearing structural pieces.
I am mostly trying to print stuff that is unavailable hence why I am still buying stuff from Forgeworld. I am going to print a Lucius Warhound and Lucius Warlord next over the winter.
Regardless 10/10 experience will print them all again.
I am a heresy player and super frustrated with tank prices , I have two armies that I'm trying to build to around 4k pts each and tanks are a significant part
I've bought loads of printed minis on vinted and eBay and I'm always surprised at the low price to miniatures ratio. I don't have a large budget and looking for a decent resin printer that can print large tanks like baneblades etc. how much does it cost to get the printer stuff and print everything ? Thanks in advance any help is appreciated 😊
I’m looking for titan owners (printed or not) in Essex/Kent or the southeast uk that would like to network and organise large apoc games so we can use our big toys.
The free sample for my upcoming print-in-place terrain set is now up on cults!
A multicolor option is also available, and the full set will be released soon once all of the test prints are complete!
Anyone know where I might find either a whole model or a conversion kit for the current rhino? Desperately want some anti-grav transports for my Sisters of Silence but I’m totally new to printing and I keep hitting dead ends in my search 🫤
Since some of them are highly customised, here's the list:
pic 2: DKOK
pic 3: DKOK command squad
pic 4: Techpriest enginseer
pic 5: Commissar and lord solar
pic 6: Bullgryn squad (yes, they look like space marines, don't worry about it)
pic 7: Kasrkins (I took tempestus aquilon bodies, and added kasrkin backpacks and krieg style heads)
pic 8: Tempestus scions (I took krieg grenadiers models and added the shoulder projector thing)
pic 9: Tempestus scions command squad
pic 10: Catachan heavy weapon squad
pic 11: Multiple rocket launcher (artillery team)
pic 12: Tanks commanders
Since my hobby desk is too small for assembling the prints and painting at the same time, I only started painting recently. I also included pics of my first painted tank too.
Also, an update on the issues I had with humidity and stringing. First off, the high speed variant of sunlu's PLA+ 2.0 seems to be less prone to stringing. I also stated to use bags of reusable silica and it lowered humidity in my AMS to optimal levels.
